Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, the village is located east from Loftus, and inside the North York Moors National Park. Loftus is well situated for discovering the unique coastal villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes, the latter being a popular choice for artists. Four miles to the north is the wonderful spa town of Saltburn with its golf club and long pier sweeping over the wide sands. The Yorkshire coastline encompasses some of the UK’s most rugged and charming countryside, from tiny fishing villages clinging to rocky cliffs to glorious stretches of white sand and family-friendly seaside resorts, with everything from windswept abbeys to the county’s best fish and chips. Nothing if not diverse, expect sandy beaches and a chance to lose yourself in this naturally idyllic destination.
