This beautiful cabin sits privately on over 7 acres on the gorgeous Pend Oreille River with 50 miles of boatable water! The home underwent an extensive 2018 renovation and provides an incredible and unique retreat in every season! Perfectly situated for outdoor and indoor enjoyment including multi-family vacations, retreats, hunting and fishing trips, amazing ski weekends, snowmobile tours, and private family getaways! (((Please do recognize this is for PRIVATE RENTALS of up to 12 people/stay. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to host group events such as parties, weddings & reunions.))) Bring your boats and water toys and enjoy 330 feet of beautiful, sandy beach with a fire pit, dock and hot tub. (*The sandy beach is temporarily covered by high water each April-mid June.*) No need to hassle with the public launch because a private boat launch is on the property! The property easily accommodates parking for multiple vehicles and boat trailers. A level, 1/2 acre, park-like lawn is perfect for outdoor games of all sorts. And provided are: horseshoes, basketball, an archery range (for the safety of all guests, bring your own bow & arrows!) , a treehouse, merry-go-round, teeter totter, swings & acres of woods to explore year-round. The location truly CANNOT be beat. The cabin is mere minutes away from Colville National Forest where there is gorgeous hiking and exploring, 20 minutes to the darling city of Newport's restaurants and grocery shopping, 35 minutes to 49 degrees North ski resort, 45 minutes to amazing Sandpoint restaurants, one hour to Schweitzer Ski Resort, one hour to Silverwood Theme Park, and one hour to Spokane! In addition, you are just 10 minutes from the acclaimed Camas fitness club and indoor aqua park located on the Kalispel Reservation which is open for participation in public events as well as the opportunity to view the roaming, majestic buffalo. Those who have stayed for weeks have still yet to run out of places to explore and activities to try! The house offers a beautiful kitchen which is stocked with all the necessary utensils and cooking items and there is a large Weber gas grill on the patio. Guests are welcome to roam the property’s 7+ acres, enjoy the five kayaks, two paddle boards, canoe, outdoor lounge furniture, hammocks, board and card games, children’s toys & books. 20+ life jackets can be found as well as beach towels and access to laundry. Please take advantage of the five smart TVs, as well as the fast, reliable fiber internet with Wifi. We hope you enjoy our property!

Beautifully modernized cabin with perfectly curated design to make it feel cozy with modern amenities. The location was fantastic with gorgeous views of the river. This was such a wonderful place for our extended family to gather as we celebrated our mom’s life. Nicole could not have been a more supportive during our stay. There just isn't a way to put into words what this beautiful 'cabin' does for the soul--and the property owners, Steve and Nicole, are just as amazing! Our group has a tradition of finding new, fun, unique places and after staying here, we will look no further. Book it, you won't find better!

Peaceful, waterfront perfection!

The property is well appointed and extremely clean. Our group was visiting from TN and this was the perfect home base for our Washington adventure! Nichole was easy to communicate with and so helpful with tips for our stay. We are hoping to be able to return when the weather is warmer to explore the mountains more! One of the best VRBO's we have ever stayed in!!!

Great house, amazing property -- exceeded expectations

Wonderful property complete with everything you need to enjoy life. The house is amazing and very well appointed. The Deck, patio, lawn and beach are perfect for plenty of outdoor activities. It was great having easy access to kayaks, canoe, and paddleboards. Everything is in great condition as the house and property are really cared for. Both owner and caretaker are super-nice and want you to have a great stay. Hope to stay here again!!

Not sure where to start. The pictures online are just what you get. The decor was immaculate, the property was beautiful and the amenities were special. You communicate directly with the owners with any question at all. You won't regret staying here!

A little slice of heaven

I booked this cabin for a retreat/getaway for my staff that had put in over 20 years of service. The cabin had such a sense of calm, the long stretch of green grass allowed for an amazing morning workout with a great view. There was a place for everyone to escape to find their own quite time. This is the first vrbo that I’ve rented where the owner has personally reached out to me with cabin instructions along with a couple other communications to verify if everything was going ok. It was a very welcoming touch. I would give this place 100 stars if I could. Thank you Nichole for providing such a great place to escape to.

A piece of heaven!

If you want to disconnect and enjoy nature, this is the perfect place. Wake up to see turkeys running around the garden.. enjoy the AMAZING view of the place.. and jump into the frozen lake to come back and enjoy the hot tub. The cabin is perfectly equipped, it has everything you need. The place is cozy and you feel like home. It is beautiful and I would return without hesitation. Bonus: we saw a couple of bald eagles on the other side of the lake when we kayaked, it was magical! :) :) :)

Bear Paw Cabin

Our stay at the Bear Paw Cabin was fabulous! The cabin is very neat and tidy and is so well equipped with any and all things you may need. Nicole and Steve were very gracious and helpful hosts! It's riverfront, country location is very scenic, romantic and relaxing. We hope to come back to enjoy this lovely property in the future. A little slice of heaven

Our stay at Bear Paw Cabin was exceptional in every way! Nicole and Steve were so wonderful to work with and we felt so welcome and taken care of. The cabin is as gorgeous as the pictures and the views from the cabin are spectacular. Out kids loved having the bunk room to themselves and we appreciated them having a space to play and spread out. Plus, with some extreme heat this week, the basement was a cool and inviting retreat! We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, the well stocked beach (Stand up paddle boards, canoes and kayaks ), and all the outdoor play equipment for the kiddos. I would highly recommend Bear Paw Cabin and we certainly hope to return.

Everything from the decor to the accommodations were perfection at this cabin! It was truly everything we needed. Super comfortable beds, towels, toiletries, beach towels, kayaks, paddle boards, a stunning backyard with multiple areas to relax, hammocks, a treehouse and playground for the kids, a trampoline, there really was nothing more we could have asked for! Such a beautifully decorated cabin and perfect for all ages. We can’t wait to visit again. So peaceful and relaxing but with so much to do at the same time. Highly recommend!!

If you love attention to details this is the place. The owners have put so much thought into making this place comfortable, with many upscale amenities. We really enjoyed our time here and hopefully one day we can come back as we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Beautiful River Front Cabin

We are a group of friends who just spent a long weekend at The Bear Paw cabin. Words can not describe how special this place is. We have adults and kids with various ages in our group. Despite the rain, everyone had such a great time at the cabin. It is situated in a perfect private spot of land next to the mesmerizing Pend Oreille River. The place is so clean, organized, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a fun get away. We really enjoyed the kayaks, the big grassy lawn, and the fun outdoor activities set up in the huge yard. We caught some fish right on the river and saw so much wildlife. The cabin is beautifully decorated. Every corner is an Instagram shot. The owner has unique and impeccable style. I can see this place will only get more popular. Nicole is such a gracious and kind host. From the moment we booked the place to the end, she made us feel so welcoming and comfortable. She really set the standard high for hospitality. Tommy, the property manager is also very helpful, friendly and attentive. We love to fish and really appreciate the tips he gave us. We have rented many places on VRBO, but this place is hand down our favorite. You can tell the host put heart and soul to make this property memorable and stand out from others. We love everything about the Bear Paw Cabin and already planning to return again in the very near future.

Beautiful river oasis

First off, the decor and feel of this place is amazing! It's both relaxing and invigorating. It made me want to come home and redecorate my whole house like a copycat. Second, Nicole could not have been more responsive or helpful. We had a power outage and she directed us to flashlights and water and checked in on us. Even attempting to long distance have pizza delivered. The house is gorgeous. The river mesmerizing. The beds were super comfy. Everything is luxurious...towels, bedding, even the cute little throws. Fun trampoline and old school playground. We will be back for sure!!

Bachelorette Dream Cabin

We absolutely LOVED Bear Paw Cabin for my sister's bachelorette party - with a group of her closest friends, our mom and her soon to be mother-in-law. It is the perfect place to relax, snuggle with your best friends in the MOST comfortable beds, and live in an Anthropologie dream house. We spent most of our time outside. Each morning and evening we all lounged on the spacious patio set, girl-talking, telling stories and reliving the day before! The sandy beach and slow flowing river made floating on our unicorn and rose bottle pool floaties a dream. Playing games on the lawn, swinging in the hammocks, jumping on the trampoline and paddle-boarding were some of the highlights of our weekend. Nicole and Steve were incredibly accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a HOT weekend and they provided extra box fans for each room. Only one room needed it - as the nights were cool. They even got my sister the most thoughtful gift for her bachelorette weekend! I can't say enough about communicating with Nicole! Fun, easy and so kind! This house has everything that you need, with the style and details that make it extra special. Highly recommend Bear Paw Cabin! I know I will be back!

Dreamy setup

Your own secluded oasis. Cabin is gorgeously updated, huge stretch of wide and slow-moving river right in front. Dock could use some rehab and windows don't have screens so gets hot in summer months as there is no AC. But a special setup that our family will want to keep coming back to!

Great family getaway

We enjoyed our three night stay at the bear paw cabin. The kayaks were a big hit with the kids! We appreciated having the hot tub on the cold and rainy days. The layout of the cabin was unique and comfortable, never felt crowded. Definitely a relaxing atmosphere. Thanks again!

No need to explore other options. This is the one.

Service was excellent. Tommy was quick to help (and we needed plenty), kind, knowledgeable, specifically of the area and the river. Catherine was quick to respond, thorough, and MAN can she decorate!! There were plenty of water toys for the days the family came to spend time. We saw turtles, a multitude of birds, and a frog invaded my personal bubble while on the kayak. Indoor and outdoor areas invited gathering with space to get away if needed (I needed). We (physically) comfortably fit 6 adults and 2 littles in the kitchen alone, and it backs up to another seating area. The porch was my favorite place to spend time. It was here, on the first night of our stay, I realized we were REALLY in the woods. Very dark and busy with little (who am I trying to convince here?) creature noises. The jumping fish sound much larger than I hope they are. Cozy sleeping areas, plenty of blankets and pillows. The blankets and pillows are all very nice, so next visit I would bring blankets I felt comfortable throwing on the grass, sand, etc. We don't need to explore other options on the river. This is just far enough out of Newport to get off the main road next to the river. Thank you so much!!

The location and proximity to to so many fun places can't be beat! We are only 12 miles to Newport for several restaurants and groceries and less than an hour to Spokane! Only 30 minutes to 49 degrees North for winter skiing fun and an hour to Silverwood Theme Park!
