What makes this Cottage unique
I loved this property for many reasons. I can stand on my deck and view Bearwallow Mountain. Yes, bears do wallow there. It's just the most peaceful place to live. Great neighbors.

We spent 8 wonderful days @ Stone Cottage. It is nestled in the mountains of NC's Blue Ridge range. In the morning we were awakened to the gobbling of turkeys, deer were grazing on a nearby slope. As we stepped outside, birds were singing in harmony with nature.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is close. You can drive this scenic mountain roadway from the Great Smokies, 469 miles north if you have the time. There are plenty of parks and trails to hike, Here you will find flowers blooming, towering hardwoods, and what sounds like trickling water soon becomes beautiful waterfall. One truly can see God's hand of creation. After a day of adventure, you are welcomed back to Stone Cottage for a relaxing evening with the fireplace aglow.
30th Anniversary celebration in a perfect spot for us
Since I was attending a conference at Ridgecrest near the time of our anniversary, I decided we might as well find a rental in the Asheville area and spend our 30th anniversary there. We enjoy secluded places in a woodsy setting but not that far from conveniences. The stone cottage fit this perfectly. It was so cozy with the fireplace and furnishings; the kitchen was well lit, and I loved the sunroom out front! The house was immaculately clean, and beds comfortable. There seemed to be no end to the treats left in the frig and on the counter--wow! And every morning Mr. Tom Turkey showed up with his ladies. It was very fascinating to watch. Jim and Sylvia were accommodating in every way, and I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone else! It was also cool that we were about a half mile down the mountain from the Eastern Continental Divide! We drove over to Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Forest to see the waterfalls. The hiking was beautiful! We came home and watched the Last of the Mohicans, recognizing Triple Falls in it, where we had just hiked. The entire visit was a very pleasant experience for this farm couple from IL!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jim even arranged a dusting of snow for us on our departure day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house fir our needs perfectly.
Business Travel 20+ years
Awhile back in my travels I didn't want to stay in another hotel room. So looking on line I found cabins. I rented one for a night and I was hooked, I felt like I was at home and not in a cell.A get away from from the Hotel life style.
I have meet so many good people and gotten to see things I would have not seen from the highway.
Jim and Sylvia were most accommodating at a last minutes notice. Thus far in staying in cabins this one was like coming home opening the fridge grabbing something cold turn on the TV gathering your thoughts. Before you have to drag in your suitcase your laptop do report send emails return emails. Road warriors know what I'm talkin about. Next time you want a great place to stay this is the place read the reviews they're all true.
Sylvia I hope you get over that cold!
