About Conchita

We are the Cameron family and enjoy the outdoor life. We love Mont-Tremblant and its surroundings, where we can go walking, skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, sailing, golfing, fishing, etc. We hope you will too!

Conchita purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Conchita chose Mont Tremblant Area

We were looking for a ski cabin with lake access for summer wakeboarding, waterskiing and kayaking and with easy access to the numerous golf courses in the area.

What makes this cabin unique

We prefer to be off the busy ski mountain during the winter especially at night time when it can be noisy. We look forward to relaxing in front of our log fire in our peaceful cabin after a good day on the slopes. Our cabin suits all our adventure and sporting wishes and yet is conveniently situated close to local amenities such as shops, restaurants & cafes. Spring, Summer and Fall golf is nearby - with plenty of courses to choose from. We really enjoy relaxing at home in our cozy log cabin surrounded by forest and with great views of Lac Mercier and the Ski Mountain. The night stars are wonderful from the decks. I find myself continually smiling when I am there, it's good for the soul. :)

Snowy wonderland in cozy-chic chalet

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 3 perfect nights at Chalet Cameron. The chalet has a lovely pine-woody atmosphere and very comfortably accommodated six adults. It was impeccably clean, and nicely decorated. The view of the old village across the lake, and Mont Tremblant beyond, was beautiful. We skied the Petit Train du Nord trail which was just down the road, and spent each day on the trails at Domaine St Bernard only a short drive away. It was excellent value for money. The owners replied promptly to any questions we had. We would return.

Great Escape

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property and location for a quality get away with the family. Everything is in close proximity but yet the location provides privacy and tranquility. We enjoyed watching deer every day, a doe and her two fawns, grazing in front of the deck sheltered by the trees. The village of Mont Tremblant with quality restaurants and the beach on Lac Mercier is within walking distance via a pedestrian/bike path and the Mont Tremblant Ski Village and numerous golf courses are but a few minutes drive away. We enjoyed eating out and eating in but most of all spending quality time together as a family. It was truly a great escape from everyday life. Looking forward to a winter experience.

Very Clean Cabin With Spectacular Views in a Lovely Town

  • 4 of 5

We just finished a wonderful stay at the cabin and enjoyed our time tremendously. The interior of the cabin is very clean and very well cared for. It is the perfect cabin layout with an ideal combination of coziness, but enough space to not feel cluttered. If I were to ever build a cabin, I would copy this design. The kitchen was well appointed with all the dishes and utensils we needed. Plenty of towels, and the washer and dryer was a great bonus. We used the kayaks to paddle in the clear and beautiful lake. The town (Lac Mercier) was loaded with wonderful restaurants, which generally had a more quaint and better feel than those right in Mont Tremblant. The views from the top floor bedroom windows were so spectacular and picturesque. The sun rose over the mountain in the morning, and set behind us in the evening setting everything in a magical glow.

A couple of things that kept this from being 5 stars for us. There is a camp in the lot behind the cabin - we could see the 10 or so semi-permanent tents as we pulled in the driveway. We could hear the campers at night and throughout the day. And when we kayaked past their main lodge on the lake - we found out why - there were probably 150 or so teenage kids dancing playing volleyball and other games and playing music. Nothing unruly, raucous or disrespectful - Just a lot of teenagers in your backyard. Nothing the owners can do about this, but it does temper the experience of a quiet mountain get-away. Then again, Tremblant is not where to go for total remoteness as there's a good bit going on.

Also, renters should be aware that the kayaks are across and down the street and through the driveway of another house (not in the best condition - looks semi-abandoned) and down a steep lot through some foliage that is mildly overgrown in some parts. I think we rented with the impression that the kayaks were either on the cabin property or in a common area - rereading shows that was my mistake. Once you get there, it's a nice pier and sandy bottom lake to enter the kayaks - but getting to and fro is a bit of a journey/adventure.

The owners were very good about letting us know they were there if they needed anything without interfering in our stay or privacy. I received emails with information about arrival and kayaks and bikes, etc. There is apparently a caretaker "on-site", but we never saw any signs that he was there (a positive thing for us - as we didn't need him). Great Value!

Owner's Response: Thank you DD for your welcome comments on our property. We are pleased that you found our second home comfortable and clean, and that you made use of the two kayaks we offer to our guests. For six weeks in the height of the Summer there are camp teenagers whose sleeping quarters are at the rear of our woods, otherwise, the rest of the year the cabin is very peaceful, relaxing and serene. As we are on three and half acres our lake access is a short walk from the property, down the no-through road and then a slight adventure down some wooden steps and footpath down the hill to the lake front. We attempt to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Please note that the caretaker no longer lives in the basement, but is available at short notice should our guests require further assistance. This arrangement serves to provide our guests with more privacy and independence. We do hope you will tell your friends about our second home in Mont Tremblant and that you will visit us again. John and Conchita Cameron

short break in Tremblant

  • 4 of 5

We spent 3 days at the cabin in July, and certainly wish we had been able to stay longer. The cabin was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The deck was a perfect spot for breakfast and sitting outside in the evenings. One evening we had deer come up to the garden. The only downside was the access to the lake was down a very steep hill. Scott, the caretaker was a great help and brought the kayaks to the lake for us. The location is great for walking, and it's less than 10 minutes drive to the village. We would certainly return.

Owner's Response: Dear JJ Thank you for your kind review. We love the fact deer come to visit by the house every day. Your comment regarding the access to the lake being steep is valid. Not suitable for the elderly or unsure of foot. We have plans to improve this area in the future.

Excellent winter retreat

  • 5 of 5

We rented the property for two months to enjoy the ski season at Tremblant and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We liked the location - within walking distance of the Petit Train du Nord, the old village and not that far from the north side. The place was warm, with all the amenities and wonderful fireplace. Kids loved playing in the snow and forest surrounding the chalet. We hope to have the opportunity to rent it another time. The Cameron's are wonderful hosts.

Your Own Private Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a wonderful getaway. Solidly built and tastefully furnished, it offers many modern conveniences. Our two couples comfortably inhabited this place for a week of total relaxation and some adventure seeking. We enjoyed the wall-to-wall windows overlooking beautiful Lac Mercier and the mountains beyond. The location is just far enough off the beaten path that we could enjoy privacy and yet be close enough to the village and amenities. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils and we ate every meal in the cabin, saving a lot of money. WiFi was a plus for streaming movies on our laptop every night. We saw deer come up to the house several days. The street and driveway were plowed as needed so we got out a few times even after heavy snowfall. Not to be missed is the outstanding Spa Scandanave nearby, an outdoor playground of hot pools, cold plunges, massage and more in gorgeous alpine surroundings. We'd love to come back and enjoy this place in the summer but it would be a treat in any season! Kudos to owners John and Conchita and on-site manager Scotty for their great hospitality!

Owner's Response: Dear John & John Thank you for your kind review of your recent stay. It makes us very happy to know that you were able to capture the beauty and joy of our second home. Thank you also for your apt description of the location - we feel very blessed to have this sanctuary in the woods and Scott as our caretaker. The nearby Scandinavian Spa is a luxurious treat for all travelers and guests alike. Please do come back and visit in the Summer when the crystal clear Lac Mercier beckons, or during the Autumn for the amazing Laurentian Fall colours. It was a pleasure having you as our guests. Merry Christmas to you all. John & Conchita Cameron
