About The Owner

The Walton family have lived on this 200 acre property for three generations and have enjoyed the beautiful views and endless outdoor activities that life on the mountain provides. We are passionate about sharing the beauty of our property with others who wish to experience the beautiful Manitou foothills and look to provide quaint comfortable accommodations for any and all looking to explore the Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs area.

The Owner purchased this house in 1997

Why The Owner chose Colorado Springs

Our property provides a unique experience to those looking to visit the area due to its location on private property. This gives our guests plenty of privacy and security while also being located just minutes away from downtown Manitou Springs. Both our Lodge and Cottage provide a feeling of being secluded in the mountains of Manitou Springs allowing for our guests to spend their days down in the city, and when that becomes too much, they have the option to retreat back up the hill to the privacy and quiet of the foothills.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It is beautiful up here! If I had known the lodge was this big all of us could have stayed here. We came from Nebraska for our brother' wedding at Craftwood Inn. We have enjoyed our time up here and will do it again. Maybe a family reunion. Naomi is a sweetie. Thank you!

Great large family gathering location.

  • 5 of 5

This home is setup perfectly to host a large family gatherings. The bunk room hosted a room full of kids, while the parents were able to utilize the many rooms throughout the lodge. The kitchen provided amble equipment and space to cook a large Christmas feast to feed 20. The deck and hot tub provided fantastic views of the area, as well as a great way to relax after the many local activities available. The property owners responded quickly to maintenance issues and also provided us the opportunity to cut down a Christmas tree on the property. Waltons Mountain Lodge will be at the top of our list for any gatherings we host in the area.

We loved the property! Secluded but very close to town and activities for all ages!

  • 4 of 5

We had a blast, love the area and the house was perfect for our large family! The house is has everything you need to relax and spend time together, but if you need some privacy it is easily found. The owners were wonderful and we plan on returning this summer and bring our off road toys. More activities within a 2 hour drive than you can do in weeks. Most of which are within 10 minutes. Loved It!

Great house for our large gathering of family and friends.

  • 4 of 5

The owners were wonderful to work with. Answered our questions before we came promptly and by chance we met Teri as we arrived. She welcomed us and told us to call if we needed anything. The house was large enough for everyone to have their own space but still room to all be together for meals and conversation.

Lots of things to see and do close by.

We will come back again.

Great for Family Renions

  • 4 of 5

The location was great, close enough to the town for activity but far enough from town for relaxing. Great set up for family reunion.

I liked the fact that the owners kept cooking items in the house, most places that we have stayed at tend to remove everything from previous people.
