About The Owner

The Walton family have lived on this 200 acre property for three generations and have enjoyed the beautiful views and endless outdoor activities that life on the mountain provides. We are passionate about sharing the beauty of our property with others who wish to experience the beautiful Manitou foothills and look to provide quaint comfortable accommodations for any and all looking to explore the Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs area.

The Owner purchased this house in 1997

Why The Owner chose Colorado Springs

Our property provides a unique experience to those looking to visit the area due to its location on private property. This gives our guests plenty of privacy and security while also being located just minutes away from downtown Manitou Springs. Both our Lodge and Cottage provide a feeling of being secluded in the mountains of Manitou Springs allowing for our guests to spend their days down in the city, and when that becomes too much, they have the option to retreat back up the hill to the privacy and quiet of the foothills.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It is beautiful up here! If I had known the lodge was this big all of us could have stayed here. We came from Nebraska for our brother' wedding at Craftwood Inn. We have enjoyed our time up here and will do it again. Maybe a family reunion. Naomi is a sweetie. Thank you!

Spacious!! And close to everything!!!

  • 5 of 5

The lodge was perfect for our huge family and checking in was a breeze. The kids enjoyed the hot tub while the adults got a nice view for relaxation. The lodge had everything we needed to make meals and it was a nice getaway. Until next time, thank you for the lovely stay.

Great location & helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

My family recently spent 4 nights in the Lodge. There were 9 adults and 7 kids and we had plenty of room. It is fully furnished and ready to go when you arrive. We needed tickets printed and were able to go to David's fathers house to print those off which was very helpful and close to the Lodge. We also had some trouble with the hot tub and they came over to fix that the same evening. The only negative encounter we experienced was the neighbors saying we were being loud at 10 pm and we were in bed. I did resolve this with David and felt better but seems the neighbors might be a little sensitive or accusatory. Other than that minor hiccup we were very pleased and happy with our stay. It is also close to downtown to be able to go walk around, shop, eat, or go to the brewery. We went to the North Pole, Cave of the Winds, Cliff Dwellings, Cog Railway tour to Pike's Peak, and a Colorado Sky Sox baseball game. There are a lot of activities in this small town. Great vacation. Thanks!

Great place for large family, lots of nearby activities if you love outdoors

  • 4 of 5

Rooms were as advertised, of decent size. Not fancy, but nice and clean. Jacuzzi worked well. We had a few maintenance issues, but nothing out of the ordinary. Wifi could be a little better in upper level on far end. It was relaxed, but not completely peaceful, as you do have to listen to the the yells of glee and fear coming from the zip lining that happens nearby, but it was manageable. Would definitely return.

Anyone looking for a great property for a large group, this is the place. We had 20 people and had plenty of room. The deck was very nice and the hot tub was used also. Thank you Waltons for this place.

Map

On 200 acres just above Historic (and newly refurbished) Manitou Springs, a haven for shopping, hiking, and leisure activities. Our property adjoins directly with Pike National Forest, making access to hiking and biking trails. Our 200 acres are also home to what is left of the Midland Railroad! Just a short hike from the front door can take you back in time through the tunnels in which the gold mining trains ran through in order to transport and retrieve gold from the Cripple Creek gold rush.

In addition to all the activities in Manitou Springs, There are also Ziplines on the 200 acre property operated by Adventures Out West, a company that prides itself on bringing adrenaline-pumping fun, educational and beautiful tours, and good old Wild west fun to all those who visit the Springs.
