Expected More

After an almost $1,700 increase from last year's visit we expected some enhancement to the property. We were disappointed that the courtyard has been poorly maintained with weeds growing between the bricks, the hose on the back deck had even more leaks that previous years, in one bathroom only 1 of 3 light bulbs worked and another bathroom 1 of 3 bulbs was burned out. We found some replacement bulbs and fixed the problems. One bathroom had a used bar of soap and another didn't have any soap. We just expected more! I believe this was our 5th year on the property and love it but wonder if we should expect more disappointment.

Good location- awful management company

Great location with private access to a public beach. Property was overall nice but the premium we paid made the overall stay a bit disappointing. The main home was decent, great location near the beach and generally in good condition. But the courtyard (between the main and 2nd living area) was neglected with weeds and trash everywhere and generally an uninviting place to sit. The kitchen was very unorganized with pots and pans and kitchen supplies scattered in multiple locations. The separate living area was very tight, the professional pictures made it seem larger-definitely would be uncomfortable to have 4 adults in there without being on top of each other. The “beach chairs” (qty3) were all rusted and not really useable. Listing claimed there were beach towels - we only found four and we had 6 people - despite the unit listed to sleep 8… The outside shower situation was a pleasant surprise, however, you'd have to sit on the deck railing for the water spray to get the sand off, so we used the hose which was riddled with holes spraying everywhere. We did read in several prior reviews that the beach is accessible to vehicles. During the weekend of our stay we had to “rush” out to the beach to reserve our spot to make sure we would have a place to enjoy the beach and sun. So much for “private beach” it's more “private access to a public beach”. Vehicles were parked side by side. At first we were disappointed, but after finding our spot on the beach we didn't really notice the parked vehicles as they were to our backs. The biggest complaint was the rental property management company -“Mocks Amelia Island” - absolutely terrible communication with us. Please Do Not Use this company! Literally non-responsive! We called early on that the kitchen disposal wasn't working - got no response. Our son found a tool under the sink and managed to get the disposal working. The icemaker wasn't working, no call back. We unfortunately left some items in the dryer the day of our departure and we made repeated calls to Mock's phone number to try and get back in or have them mail the items to us, no call back. We only got their answering service. We then called their “emergency contact” number/person and never even got a call back despite trying for 3 days. Also found one of owners on FB and posted a request for contact and still no response. We enjoyed staying on South Fletcher, but definitely won't be coming back and paying the premium price we paid for this property - not worth it.

Family Vacation

The condo is a great set up with wonderful views. The reason for the bad review is due to the management company. I emailed and called them prior to out arrival to ask a few questions and never got a response. We entered the unit, wasn't as clean as I like and compared to other units I stayed in the past. Then went to load our groceries in the refrigerator, not cold. I called maintenance and Mark called back stating it was working for previous tenants and it was probably warm as they had just cleaned it, wasn't that clean, I had to wipe it down myself. He said to update him on Sunday. Still not working. I called him back and he brought us a DORM refrigerator on Monday. I left them a message late Tuesday afternoon asking for an update and stated that that's the least they could do with the money we paid, still NO RESPONSE!! I went by their office several times, nobody was there. Finally without any communication 2 men showed up to repair the refrigerator, this was on THURSDAY AFTERNOON. They said, now you'll have a working refrigerator, I just said, well the next guest will, we leave Saturday at 10:00. I will make sure I NEVER have anything to do with Mock's Amelia Vacations. Our family hadn't been together in years, so this was very disappointing. I would consider staying in this unit again, if under different management company. ~~I owned a condo on the island for 12 years and rented it out so I understand things happen, however, we always treated our guests with the upmost respect and went above and beyond to take care of their needs. ~~

Great vacation

We love this rental. Been here many times and will continue to stay here. We did notice this visit that the landscapers (if they came at all Thursday) is not keeping up the coutyard patio as they have in the past. Weeds growing through the brick. But overall a great trip!

Relaxation

We had a fabulous relaxing weekend at this beautiful ocean front house. We had some problems with the key pad however it was resolved quickly. We are grateful to the memories we shared in this home during spring break for our kiddos.

Post Christmas getaway

Can’t beat the ocean front location, and the home was a perfect fit for our family with the primary suite, kitchen,dining and living rooms in rear portion of house, overlooking back patio and walkway to beach. Additional bedrooms are on front portion of house and separated by nice enclosed patio/play area. Highly recommended. Will likely become an annual stay for us.

Great property for family

As a family of six adults and one infant, we appreciated having the two separate buildings for privacy. The kitchen was well appointed and it was nice being so close to the beach where we enjoyed daily walks.Guests definitely need a car to get around the island. My only peeve was that we were expected to bring our garbage to a dumpster at the other end of the complex “to help our housekeeper”. For what we paid for this villa, we should not have had to be running around as we are trying to leave emptying cans and driving garbage to a dumpster. Overall, we were very pleased with the villa, appreciated getting the extra blanket when requested (the master bedroom only had a coverlet and it was cold some nights) and we would recommend the property.

Felt & furnished like a home

We had 5 adults and a dog for Amelia Island Dance Festival. we've stayed in lots of beach properties, this one felt like a home v a . There was plenty of space, the furniture was comfortable v cheap, and the kitchen was stocked enough to cook. Great outdoor spaces we could enjoy.

95174 Sandpiper Loop

Love the location of this villa. It was great for my family of 5 adults and 2 grandkids. The layout was wonderful for us. It might be time to upgrade the stove in the kitchen. We had to also clean out the microwave but these are minor. The twin bedroom bathtub may need some upgrades also. All in all I would stay here again. Grandsons loved all the lizards and rabbits on property. Thank you

Three Star

Sand dunes were too difficult to get to the beach for anyone with limited mobility. The wi do was not working consistently in the bedrooms. Bedrooms were nice to have the extra space and bathrooms. Loved the set up and lots of space! Clean. Light in the garage did not work either did the garage door opener. Lights in the dining room and big lamp in the living room didn't work or we couldn't find the switch. We loved the white and seclusion. Loved the patio and deck. Taking the garbage was very inconvenient. It was quite a walk and sign said to use the blue wagon, which was broken and not useable. A microwave would nice. An umbrella or shade on the deck would be nice. Overall, beautiful, relaxing and so thankful we got a key to the gate to have access to the beach. Thanks for a great vacation spot!

Great rental

One improvement would be to be able to lock the sliging glass door to the beach so that it can be locked by key to safeguard the unit while at the beach. There is no way to do this per your employee that left me a nessage. It would benefit the owners knowing their home is secure. There is a keyed lock on the door but saw no key inside the unit that worked. This would be a huge safety improvement. There is no other way to access the beach from this unit other than the sliding glass doors. Please make this improvement. We love this place!

The place was really lovely. Loved the courtyard and the back porch. The beach was really busy out in front of the house on the weekends since trucks are allowed there but during the week it was nice.

Beach Front Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation! We had a small problem with the coffee maker and it was quickly resolved! The house was very comfortable and was perfect for our family! The back porch was a wonderful reading spot! The patio enclosure made it nice for our dog that joined us! The only negative is that trucks are allowed on the beach in this area. The trucks parked where they wanted, get stuck, & would drive up & down the beach. Our 6 year old daughter has low vision so we constantly had to be alert for cars.Thankfully in March during the week the beach traffic did decrease during the week.

Location great and great set up for family with kids or even two families!

We have stayed next door to the same rental before and just love the location. Boardwalk over the dunes is like new and easy access to the beach. Setup of the rental has a small courtyard that separates the main house with a smaller guest cottage that is great for kids old enough to want some space. Allows parents a place to get some time together and the kids a space that they can congregate and still be behind a locked door leading out of the courtyard street side. We love this property and will return again for sure!

Fabulous Away Home

We love everything about this property! The great beach access, spacious living space, beautifully furnished, well stocked kitchen, comfortable courtyard and that we can bring our two pugs. This has become our preferred summer vacation location with our daughter's family of four. My wife and I came this month, by ourselves for a week, to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We loved being at this home and visiting our favorite local restaurants!! A shout out to Mark for his great responses for the few issues we have encountered over the years. Mark has always exceeded expectations!! Thanks, Mark!!

family vacation

this was our first time vacationing with our new son in law so the townhome with the courtyard was the perfect set up for our family of five. we very much enjoyed the property and felt like everything we needed was there. The back deck and walkway to the beach were ideal. morning coffee on the deck was very nice with the sounds of the ocean in the background and the bunnies and turtles walking around the back yard. the downtown is lovely and great to walk around at night. great , casual places to eat but also nicer restaurants all around if that is what's preferred. we had an issue with the washing machine overflowing but maintenance came out quickly and fixed the problem. my only real issue was that we were not aware that cars were allowed on the section of beach that we were staying on. I would have preferred to know that up front as it would have factored into our decision to book this property. this was our second time coming to Amelia and we stayed on the Omni complex last year and didn't experience that. it was something that would weigh into my choice to book again. other than that, it was a great place to stay.
