House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 11)
The Oar House is an awesome place no matter the time of year. It's great in the summer for water play and relaxing. The view is spectacular, and you can swim right from the deck. It's beautiful in the fall when the autumn leaves are reflecting on the lake. Not far to a Clemson football game and then back to the lake to enjoy the autumn weather. In the winter it's just peaceful and quiet, and it's a great time for hiking and biking. This newly renovated home sits right on the lake. You have to see it to believe it! There is a living room and dining with a fully equipped kitchen all open to each other.
This house has three levels. It can be rented with two master suites and 2.5 baths or with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The main level suite has a queen bed and the upper level suite has a queen bed, a daybed in the bedroom and a sitting room with a sofa that could sleep one. (It is not a sleeper sofa). Both suites have private baths. Both bedrooms have absolutely awesome views of the lake. The lower level has 2 bedrooms and a full bath. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has a double bed and bunks. Both rooms have vanity sinks.
There are three wonderful decks to relax on and eat on if desired. There is also an eating bar in the living area with six bar stools and the dining room table seats 8 comfortably.

Highly recommend! Gorgeous place!
The University of Kentucky Eventing team stayed here for an event at FENCE. We had an absolutely amazing time! The house was beautiful and had everything that we could possibly need. We plan on staying here again next year!
Great place for a family getaway!
Our family of 11 enjoyed 4 nights here when the temperature outside was in the 20s. We stayed toasty warm. While we could have used another BR, we made out ok. Loved the location, on Lake Lanier and close to Landrum and Tryon (two lovely small towns). The kitchen was well outfitted for cooking for a crowd and the house was clean and bug free. Loved the view from the great room and the deck. We hiked to Pierson’s Falls (not too strenuous for grandma or the kids) and spent time at beautiful Connemara, poet Carl Sandburg’s home in Flat Rock. All in all, a very nice experience. Would consider staying here again in summer or fall when water activities are possible.
Great Lake house!
Quiet and peaceful in great location not far from Tryon and Landrum. Many decks looking out over the Lake. House has that good Summer lake house Olsen feel
The owners were so helpful.
This is a beautiful place for family/ friends to gather. My Aunt had Brain Cancer this was her last wish for a few of us to get together. I found the Oar House. It was everything she wanted. Big enough to sleep the people she wanted to come a huge deck for all of us to sit together. Drink coffee and just talk the whole time. We all had the time of our life. Because the house had everything we needed except food and drinks. We didn't have to worry about anything!! It was very clean and comfortable!! Love the area it offers privacy and a beautiful view!! We will be going back again and my family has said the same thing. If you are looking for a beautiful, clean place with lots of room and plenty of deck space top and bottom level. This is the place you need to try. I rate it a 10+. Thank you, Sandi
A group of college friends came together to visit a college friend who lives in the area who is very ill. We had stayed in several hotels and B and Bs in the area on prior visits, this was by far the best place we have stayed. The house is in a beautiful spot. The house is beautifully decorated in the oar house theme. It is very clean and comfortable an offers privacy as well as places to gather. The owners are lovely and extremely helpful.
Great place for friends/family to gather!
This is a great place to gather with friends and family and completely relax. The house has everthing you could need, has plenty of room to be together but yet have personal space. Fully equipped kitchen, a table large enough for 8 -10 to sit around together, beautifully decorated and so comfortable ... a true home away from home. The lake is amazingly clear and was the perfect temp to swim and float. Having a paddle boat available was fun as was the canoe but what we enjoyed the most was floating on a raft and just soaking up the sun. If you want a fun day trip- I would suggest Slide Rock and Looking Glass Falls. They were both incredible! For anyone who loves rollercoasters... take a trip to Carowinds - you will not be disappointed.
I need to mention the owners were great.. we had an afternoon when it seemed the air conditioning was not functioning properly and after I called them the situation was taken care of promptly, a service man came out and repaired the unit and they made a point to call us back to be sure it was fixed. No more problems . Everything in the house is kept in good shape and is very clean and we had no further issues.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definately remember this place and will be back!
We are so glad you enjoyed our home. Thank you for your positive comments. It is our second home and we strive to keep it like we would like it to be when we visit.
