About this property

Unwind in this modern villa in Friesland

Rijs is located in Friesland, a popular province in the northern part of the Netherlands featuring picturesque towns, lakes and woodlands. Rijs and its surroundings offer numerous watersport activities, biking and walking trails. Minutes away, you can find great restaurants and woodland excursions, or stroll a little further to the beach. Nearby towns offer notable shopping, cultural events, horse riding and golf. The grocery store is 1.5 km away, and the shopping district is just 5 km away!

The house was designed by a local architect in the 1970’s and has been tastefully remodeled in 2018. The villa is fully equipped with everything you desire during your stay. The outdoor space includes a big grassy yard, a patio with a lounge set, table and chairs, and a BBQ grill. Some outdoor play equipment, such as badminton and balls, is also available. Toys and indoor games, such as chess, playing cards etc. are located in a kids’ corner. There’s even an Xbox with games in a separate room with its own TV. A crib and a high-chair are available as well.

sunny weekend

It was a wonderful sunny weekend in rijs. The villa was very clean and communication with Otto was great. The cat of the house was a small highlight for us, because she also wanted to be taken care of in the morning. It is a short distance through the forest to the sea, but then you will be rewarded with great water. thank you for everything.

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus

Wir haben ein paar tolle Ostertage in dem wunderschönen, sehr großen und bestens ausgestattetem Haus verbringen dürfen. Es war sehr sauber und sehr ansprechend eingerichtet. Die Kommunikation mit der Besitzerin funktionierte tadellos. Wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Das Haus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und es ist bestens ausgestattet. Der Kontakt mit der Vermietung war hervorragend! Es gab zu Beginn 1-2 Kleinigkeiten die nachgebessert werden mussten und das wurde schnell und freundlich erledigt!

Wir waren mit der Familie für ein verlängertes Wochenende dort. Alles lief perfekt - von der Kommunikation über die Einweisung bis zur Abreise. Eine ideale Unterkunft für uns, um schnell in der Natur zu sein und dem Alltag etwas zu entfliehen. Das Haus war sauber und alles funktionierte sehr gut - und auch die treue Katze wurde gut versorgt :-)

Prachtige, volledig ingerichte splitlevel woning, met 2 badkamers en 3 extra wastafels. Buiten troosteloze omgeving op voormalig jeugdzorg terrein waar de huizen dicht op elkaar staan en er uitzicht is naar geen van de 4 kanten. Goed uitgangspunt voor verkenning van de omgeving.

Een heerlijk ruim huis.

Wij waren met 7 volwassenen, 1 kleinzoon van 3 en 1 van 1. We hadden de ruimte als gezin. Alles was keurig. Wat wel een punt is om op te letten is dat een kindje van 1 graag overal opklimt. En dan zijn de trappetjes ondanks het hekje wel iets om in de gaten te houden. Voor de kleinzoon van 3 was het geen probleem. Echt een aanrader.

Een comfortabele en ruime villa op een rustige locatie. Op loopafstand van het Rijsterbos en Mirner Klif en op 5 minuten met de auto van het dorpje Balk.

Excellent place and host

It’s a lovely spacious house with everything we needed for our friends and young family. The host was brilliant and the check in / check out with Otto was perfect. He even went to the trouble of sending me something I stupidly left in the house! Brilliant guy. We will definately go back.

Ontzettend fijn weekend gehad in deze woning. Deze is van alle gemakken voorzien. Zeker de aparte tv/gameroom is geweldig! Ook de locatie is top, lekker kunnen wandelen en hardlopen.

Prima huisje in mooie omgeving

We vonden het een prima huis in een hele leuke omgeving. Het is echt goed en compleet ingericht en echt van alle gemakken voorzien. De enige kleine nadelen die ik zou kunnen bedenken is is de ligging in een klein vakantiepark met een niet echt idyllisch uitzicht op gebouw dat momenteel te koop staat en de temperatuur in de woonkamer die wat kan oplopen in de zomer. De slaapkamers zijn daarentegen lekker koel en ik heb begrepen dat er gewerkt wordt aan een airconditioner. Verder bijzonder prettig contact met eigenaresse en beheerders die maken dat je er welkom voelt. De omgeving van Rijs is echt schitterend. Al met al zonder meer een aanrader!

I am born and raised in Friesland, so I can tell you about the area. I am fluent in Frisian, English and Dutch. I live overseas and this is our vacation home while visiting family and friends. I have biked the elfstedentocht and also like to spend time on the Frisian waters. Besides spending time with my family, I like to play volleyball or work on creative projects.
Everything is just a little bit different here in Friesland which I love.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house because we live overseas and wanted a place close to family and friends when we come and visit. Growing up in the area, I have always loved Rijs, so this is the perfect place!

What makes this property unique

The villa has an open feel and a variety of triangular and round windows who let in a lot of day light. The villa is very spacious. The arched walk through to the kitchen, the steal beams in the living room and the fact that it has plenty of bed- and bathrooms were selling points. The house has been designed by a local architect.
