Amazing but short time
Will be back to fully enjoy their hospitality
Beautiful patio to enjoy right off the room and very well designed rooms
Ideal location for touring the County
Excellent place to stay!
We spent a weekend at the runaway rooster and it far exceeded our expectations.
The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable (the roost). The bed was ultra luxurious and comfortable and there was a small sitting area. There was also a small private balcony where we could grab a breath of fresh air. The bathroom was spotless and well equipped with lots of towels, a hair dryer and soap/shampoo/conditioner.
The house and yard were totally spectacular. There’s a great sitting room with a few games and big TV. The outside has multiple decks, sitting areas and fire pit. We were lucky enough to sit under the stars enjoying fireflies ! The yard had beautiful well kept gardens.
Our hosts were phenomenal. What a natural fit for the both of them! They had great advise on where to explore, they gave us a ton of free tasting cards for wineries, entrance passes for the sandbanks and were all around friendly.
The breakfast was AMAZING. It was 5 star, totally delicious, filling and almost exclusively locally sourced. Yumm yumm yumm. It was also really nice to meet the guests.
The house is located in a great spot. A few really great restaurants in walking distance and short drive to both Picton, the Sandbanks, and countless wineries/breweries.
We can’t wait to go back :)
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Runaway Rooster. It's a unforgettable experience. Beautiful rooms and yards. Karen and George have gone out of their way to give us suggestions, and their breakfasts are fine-dining experiences, simply delicious. Highly recommend.
We are so honoured that you chose Runaway Rooster B&B + Guest Cottage for such a special occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and hosting you both, and loved hearing your discoveries and feedback from your daily County touring. Wishing you all the best. We hope to see you back here soon -- breakfast is waiting!
Bowled over in Bloomfield
Bloomfield is a perfect location for a visit to Prince Edward County, it's convenient to visit many of the area attractions, the local wineries, Sandbanks Provincial Park, Wellington and Picton.
Runaway Rooster is a fantastic property with beautiful gardens, a creek and two extremely friendly hosts, Karen and George. They were very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. We were bowled over by the fabulous included breakfast and the attention to detail that was visible in our room and the great room, where guests are encouraged to spend time. They were very knowledgeable about the County and were able to give us lots of ideas of things to do in the area. We'll definitely return to the Roost and continue our exploration of this amazing place.
Tracey, thank you so much for your kind comments. We certainly appreciated hosting and chatting with you and Vince. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Runaway Rooster, and hope to see you back again soon. Cheers! Karen & George
Feel free to explore our property to its fullest. We’ve got a one acre lot that runs down to Bull’s Creek. Grab a chair, sit on the grass, or play badminton, croquet or bocce ball on the lawn. And, please ask if you can use the creek-side firepit as sometimes there are burn restrictions in effect.
EXPLORE THE COUNTY
It’s a lovely five to 10 minute stroll (1 km) along Main Street to Bloomfield’s shops, restaurants, artisan studios, spa, bike rental and more. Picton is a scant five minutes east by car, while Wellington is 10 minutes west. Sandbanks Provincial Park is a short 10-15 minute drive away.
You can drive, walk, cycle or take a cab/private chauffeur to experience all the wonders of the County. Or rent a boat/canoe/kayak/etc., and explore it from a whole different vantage point!
