Lovely, peacefu rural retreat where we spent 5 days. Ideally situated for visiting the owner's recommended sites, and many more. The proximity of Caen ferry terminal was perfect for us.I'd definitely like to go back.
This bijou property is ideal for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Communication from the owners is outstanding. The property was nice and clean, with everything you would need for a stay. There was plentiful information on places to visit in the area.
The gite is lovely and bijouIn a fantastic setting. All you need for a great stay, Sue & Paul are great hosts. We stayed over christmas and new year. Unfortunately it was cold in The gite so we had to wrap up but it was cold outside . But think the heating needs upgrading Having said that we would like to return one day in the summer months it is in such a beautiful setting

This was our second stay at La Boulangerie. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and really felt at home. The cottage is in a quiet location in lovely countryside with beautiful views. Various nice walks are possible from the cottage. It is truly a wonderful place to stay. Thanks to Sue, Paul and Sally for making us feel so welcome!
A lovely area with lots to do. We will come again.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Unfortunately we were there when it was over 30 degrees most days. We were unable to sleep in the bedroom as it was too hot. No insulation to the roof made it heat up easily. No where in the description did it state about the narrow and deep stairs- it proved quite hard for me to get upstairs as there wasn’t space or adequate railings to help. I have limited mobility so it was hard for me to get to the toilet etc. I wouldn’t have booked this property if I’d known about this. The cottage was ok but after 10 days of sleeping on the floor in the living room and struggling with the stairs it was not a relaxing experience
This is a small but excellent little cottage, well fitted out with everything you could think of, set in lovely quiet countryside, we didn't take our dogs but the property is fenced all round and gated, has both English and French TV channels and plenty of DVDs, lovely and warm and cosy, it is immaculately clean and there is loads of local information in the hosts folders, would highly recommend this cottage if you love the country side and walking in peace and tranquil surroundings, we used it as a base for visiting the DDay beaches and memorials it is a bit of a drive to them but excellent to come back to the solitude in the evening and relax in the silence that you just don't get in the more tourist area's, would highly recommend this property and will probably use it again, the communication's with the host was easy and very helpful.Congratulations on such a lovely property at such a great price.Thank you
A fantastic place to stay for peace and/or sightseeing
A great little property well located to get out and visit or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
Situated close to Brecey which has a number of good bars, excellent Super U supermarket and 3 bakerys. Communication with the hosts was great. Any emails were answered quickly.
Communication with
Great week relaxing and exploring Normandy / Brittany border.
La Boulangerie may be small, but is superbly equipped and renovated to a very high standard. It is very private in a rural location with great views of the surrounding countryside and sunloungers, bikes and BBQ available for use. So many interesting places to visit within 30-60 mins drive and amazing empty beaches to the south and north of Granville. We loved it.
We stayed in La Boulangerie for one week in February 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely, warm and welcoming. It’s a real little home and it is evidently well loved and cared for by the owners Sue and Paul and caretaker Sally. Communication with all of them is quick and easy. Thank you all for such a great experience! We hope to return one day!

Excellent
A superb little house with a cosy atmosphere. Great location for a peaceful, relaxing holiday with everything only 5 minutes away. John and Trish were great local agents to have when needed, thanks to you both. Paul and Sue, the owners were very accomodating in answering all my question and our thanks to them for La Boulangerie.
We will be back for a longer stay next time.

A real charming little Gem !
The property is unique, beautifully maintained and equipped and most certainly far from the madding crowd! We stay here with our 2 lovely cats and we have all had a lot of fun.
Despite, the weather was not too good during our stay , we have a great time!
Location close to all the tourist destinations, cycling in Brecey and nearby villages ,great weekday markets, supermarket with washing machines / dryer,
If you want a nice ,quiet, stress-free holiday this could be the place for you.
We definitely recommend this cottage and would come again!
Many thanks for your hospitality Paul and Sue !

Wonderful Chill Out Location
This was a return stay at La Boulangerie and once again we had a fantastic week in a lovely quite location. Great for bird watching, cycling, walking or just to lie in the sun and chill out. The owners have thought of everything and the free wifi is a super plus! This cosy little cottage is equipt with everything you require for your stay, all you need to do is to pop into the local town of Brecey where you find the Supermarket, Butchers, Boulangerie's and some great Bars and Restaurants including a very good Pizzeria. It makes a great base to go sightseeing and there is plenty to see and do within a 25 -30 mile radius, local markets are a must if you want to get to the real French people.
If you love France and are looking for a location to re-charge the batteries then look no further than this one! You will not be disappointed.
We will be going back again as soon as we can!
The house is really nice and enough space for max. 2 persons. It all works and it is very clean. It is lokated between farmers. Very nice garden for dogs. It is everything here to stay for a while! Great sky watching in the night. Warning for those who have dogs - Mt.St. Michel makes no sence with big dogs and isles Chaussey - the ferry is a nightmare!!! It is overbooked until the roof, very unfriendly handling on the boat. You pay a high price for the dogs but there is absolutely no space for them. Very dangerous! NEVER MAKE THIS TRIP WITH DOGS! Even in Oktober! But the house of Paul and Sue is really great!
