We are Cliff and Martha Cressy, and we are your hosts at the beautiful Puerto Las Hadas Condo #554
The Owner purchased this condo in 2007
Following in my brothers footprints, we decided to plan early for our retirement with a winter home in Mexico. Manzanillo fit the bill. It's beauty, old world charm and the sincere friendliness of it's people, won us over.
Only now being touched by our Western culture Manzanillo still holds a majority of its old world charm. It is a working class city so poverty is not a factor. The people are healthy, happy and industrious. You really get a sense of a strong and proud culture. You get to see, taste and smell, Mexican culture without western influence. It is very rewarding.
This studio-styled condo is very well presented by the photos and diagram. But what you don't see is the plush towels, comfortable and new king size bed and linens, comfortable balcony furniture, barbecue, extremely well stocked kitchen utensils and appliances, tastefully decorated suite, and the sound of the surf! Cliff and Martha are supper hosts in that they provide you with lots of information on local and favorite restaurants. They also have a local custodian who is readily available to help your stay remain stress-free. And the pool! Wonderful! Always enough chairs or loungers for everyone. Both taxis, which are very economical, and the number 8 bus, that travels every half hour to the front of the complex, are easy ways to make your way to any shopping center or market.
Great condo, just as described, great amenities and friendly staff. I will definitely stay here again. Cliff was very helpful all the the way and answered all my inquiries very fast.
The owner, Cliff, was wonderful to work with. He immediately responded to my rental request (within minutes). He answered all my questions & gave us a great rate for the 1st week of March. He also emailed me all the info one would need from checking into the condo, the layout of the property, tips for the best restaurants (El Fogon was the best), & info for day tours etc. Cliff & I were in touch from my initial request to the day before we left & he assured me 'Armando' would be waiting for us when we got to the lobby. Armando did better than that! He was waiting for us at the security gate! I heard someone saying my name, & looking at me, & it was Armando (no clue how he knew it was me) he took us straight up to the condo! We felt reassured knowing Armando was right there waiting for us & that everything was set up exactly how Cliff said. I felt Cliff was trustworthy from the start, having Armando there right on time, confirmed my trust, & that Cliff is a fantastic condo owner to rent from. The first thing you see from entering the condo is the beautiful view of the bay. Inside the condo is adorable, super clean, the bathroom is large, & my favorite part of the condo, (besides the balcony) is the beautiful, new tilework in the shower with excellent water pressure. The condo is supplied with everything you need for cooking, cleaning, & living for at least a week. Be sure to bring the white towels if u go to Las Hadas beach or u will stand out. Balcony has a gas grill my hub put to great use on our 2nd night. He bought a freshly caught seafood medley of shrimp, octopus, calamari, & crab, & fresh peppers & onions, w/ homemade pressed that day, corn tortillas. Yes, he made fajitas on the grill! He also bought avocados & all the ingredients for homemade pico & guac! He lit candles & we had a very romantic dinner on the balcony listening to the surf. The condo is located right next to the elevators, so no stairs from the ground level, or to the pool, which is EXACTLY what Cliff promised, which I was thrilled about b/c I have a walking disability. Refills on the water jug in room are only $30 pesos! Loved the Mezcal decanter for the water. A/C worked well. Ipod dock was great to have! Best part of all was the super clean pool & Casa Clubs awesome authentic food & drinks w/prices c.1985. Beers only $20 pesos! Juansai our server, treated us like royalty, & made our trip extra special (we tipped him accordingly) Be sure to write in the travel journal! Great condo!
Las Hadas is the perfect setting for anyone who wants to either relax poolside or on the beach, and bask in Manzanillo’s gentle sun. This Studio suite is spacious and inviting as it offers a comfortable queen size bed, bay and pool viewing balcony, adequate storage for clothes and other travel items, and a newly updated kitchen and bathroom. (Be assured, views on this property are accurate.) Towels and linens are plush and clean. Furniture is new and comfortable, and the décor is equally as pleasing. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils and offers a fridge that is more than adequate to store your groceries and cervezas. And, if you like, there is a barbecue set up on the balcony. If cooking meals is not your thing, there are also four restaurants in this complex.
When we stayed in Las Hadas, the pool area was never too busy; there were always lounging chairs available. Tuesday nights have happy hour.
The flat screen TV does not offer cable, so you will be limited with Spanish stations only, but there is an assortment of DVD’s and books that have been left by fellow travelers for you to enjoy.
Prior to the visit, the owners answered many and all questions we had; once we arrived on site, their property manager was there to greet us and make us feel right at home.
Manzanillo is not the most scenic city, but it offers all your needs and wants. From the studio suite, it is a short walk up to where bus number 8 arrives about every 30 minutes to take you into the city -- about a 15 minute ride. If you prefer, there are always taxis waiting.
Definitely worthy of a return visit on my bucket list!
