Welcome to the beauty of 2232 Austria in Recoleta. Surrounded by trees, quiet streets, and some of the best real estate in Buenos Aires, this remarkable apartment is situated just blocks from some of the best restaurants and shopping in the city. This beauty is in a classic building erected in 1927, with glass and black metal front doors that lead into a beautiful lobby,

This apartment is is spread over three floors. Enter the apartment and you find yourself in a French-inspired reception room. Hard wood floors and a gilded mirror guide you to the reading room, where one can relax on a recliner while listening to your favorite CD's. The living room embraces you with its large white sofa and its wide screen television. The en suite master bedroom has soft lighting, 13 foot high exposed brick walls and its own flat screen TV plus two walk-in closets.

The totally renovated master bathroom has a large bathtub and bidet. The dining room seats 8 comfortably. Two steps away is the main kitchen, with its electric oven and gas stove top...all built in, of course. Don't want to eat at the dining room table??...you can sit at the kitchen counter. On the second floor is the guest bedroom and bath. This room doubles as a computer room if no guests are visiting.

Up 5 more steps and you are in the den...a multi-purpose room that has a full kitchen, a sofa bed that sleeps two, a flat screen TV and a washer andy dryer. Just off the den is the private terrace, complete with chaises, a parilla for barbecuing, and built in benches for outside dining. Enjoy all of the amenities of this newly remodeled unit, in addition to all that Recoleta has to offer.

Why The Owner chose Buenos Aires

I find Buenos AIres to be an exotic and exciting city...a combination of Paris and Madrid. There is always something to do. I chose to buy in Recoleta/Barrio Norte because of its safety, its proximity to many major sights, and its closeness to major shopping and dining options. I also chose it becaause it is in a quiet neighborhood, just a cab ride from downtown. There are no noisy buses for three blocks in either direction, but for the brave of heart, the subway (subte) is 5 blocks from the apartment and there are buses 3 blocks in the opposite direction.Taxis are always cruising the street, so transportation is never an issue.

What makes this apartment unique

I chose this unit because it is contrefrente, meaning it faces the back of the building and is very quiet. This is a blessing for those of us who are light sleepers. I also bought in this building becasue I have so many things practically at my doorstep, supermarkets (3 blocks) and minimarts across the street and right next door! The major shopping street of Avenida Santa Fe and the Alto Palermo Mall and theaters are all within walking distance. It's a 12 minute walk to the Recoleta cemetery if you want to pay your respects to the Argentine elite (including Eva Peron). Unique to this apartment is the very laarge terrace, complete with parilla (outdoor grill), outdoor shower as well as table, chairs and even a sofa for your afternoon siesta! (I use it all the time!) You can have an romantic dinner for 2 or a sit down dinner for 8. I spend a lot of time on that terrace. Please note: Effective January 1, 2011, I am only renting the apartment out for periods of one month or longer.
