We enjoyed our stay at The Tag house. It is fully stcoked with everything you need plus extra! It is very cozy and welcoming, smells good and very clean. Love the layout of this house. We love that it is right on the river too!

Has everything you need for cooking. The beds were very comfortable. We washed one load of clothes the washer dryer worked well. We enjoyed fishing off the pier and we caught catfish mostly. I think it was bait we were using as we wanted to catch sand trout. The master bathroom shower is awesome! Only one suggestion, put a slip resistant mat in the bathtub of the other full bathroom as it was very slippery. There may have been one but we didnt see it. We had a great time. Very short drive to the beach. If you are older just be aware of the fact that there are stairs. One more suggestion, install a slim handrail in the staircase going to the upstair bedrooms. Overall a great place!

The house and amenities were beyond our expectations. The house was beautifully decorated. We stay a lot of places and by far this was one of the nicest places.

The home was beautiful and fishing was good. At our last few vacation rentals, we realized the pictures were not accurate when we arrived on the property. This home was accurately described and pictured. The only down side was that the house is so decorated there wasn’t much room for us to store our things. I didn’t care for the strong air freshener either. Some of my family members have asthma and we can’t handle artificial fragrances. All in all we had a great stay, our first time on that part of the river and it was our best trip in a while.

Homey Hideaway in Matagorda Bay

This place is so cute! The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the space was well-stocked. The kids loved the bunks, which made it even more fun for them. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, overlooking the Texas Colorado River as it meets Matagorda Bay. It added a wonderfully serene touch. The location was perfect, with quick and easy access to town. The host was very responsive and even offered an early check-in, which was such a nice touch.

Great Stay!

We had a great stay. The weather wasn't the best, but my husband still managed to snag a humongous drum. He released him, so he is still out there!

Wonderful Get-Away

We had the best time staying at the Tag House. The location is perfect, whether you're heading to the beach for the day, or just need to run to town for a few quick things. My husband and son loved being able to fish off the dock in the evenings. Jen is also super responsive. We'll definitely be coming back.

Great getaway for a family and/or fishermen

Incredible property with a great view of the river! The parking was great, right behind snappers bar and grill. Close to the beach and really close to the boat ramp at Wayne’s bait camp. Family all had a great time from the beach goers that were with us and the fishermen as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE AND WILL AGAIN!

Perfect for our lil family. Fully stocked kitchen. Lots of towel choices. We cleaned up as we went and left just the laundry for them🤓 Would rent again. It is important to know that all bedrooms are upstairs.

Weekend stay in January

Arrived late on Friday and stayed till Sunday. Loved the accommodation and fishing f o the river just off the back of the house. The home was Very well equipped and very comfortable.

Just like home

We really enjoyed our week long stay at The Tag house. The house was very comfortable, good cozy sofas and beds which is needed after long days on the beach. We also enjoyed being on the river so we could fish each night and enjoy wildlife viewing. We really enjoyed our time!

We started coming to Matagorda in 2013 and fell in love it. We're big into fishing so we just got hooked. We are currently full time residents in Waller and any opportunity found ourselves trying to go to Matagorda as often as possible, so.... it only made sense that we would eventually purchase here.

Dave was born and raised in Victoria and is a proud 1994 Aggie graduate. Received his engineering degree and continued to get Masters in Welding Engineering at Ohio State. We currently raise Brangus cows here in Waller and Victoria.

We are also GRANDparents to the most amazing 3 yr. old boy, Matson. Though he currently has moved to Colorado, Nonnie rescues him from the snow in exchange for the sand.
