Amazing guest house. Just perfect for the two of us, nicely appointed and clean. Beautiful southwest view over Lake Gaston with great sunsets. Great access to water for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Very welcoming hosts.

This place is amazing. It's so clean, fresh and decorated so cute. The location is so peaceful. I especially enjoyed sitting in the comfy wicker rocking chair on the covered deck listening to the boats and reading. The beds are super comfortable too. The owner was very quick to respond We will be back every June.

Excellent guest house; great for couples or small families. Great view, instant access to the lake. Kitchen was well stocked with all the needed utensils for cooking and clean up. Probably one of the best Vrbo rentals we’ve ever done.

Very clean and quaint. The Hatmans are awesome hosts . Nice ,quite , beautiful this is our 3rd time , and we will be back. Look forward to spending time there again. Easy access to the lake . We tied our boat up to their dock. Just an enjoyable trip everyone we go. Thanks !

Absolutely outstanding hosts and a true hidden gem! Butch and Laura were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The guesthouse was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly situated to enjoy Lake Gaston. We loved our stay so much that we’ve already booked a return visit in July. This property was everything that was advertised.It was tastefully decorated and had a sea side atmosphere.The kitchen had family size appliances, which are needed even with just 2 people. The bed was very comfortable which led me to have 4 much needed naps on our first day. The large windows gave us a beautiful view of setting suns and the lake.The outside was in full bloom with flowers and bushes.We definitely think back on it with wonderful memories and hopes to return.

So peaceful and beautiful here

This is our third stay here. We love this beautiful place with amazing sunrises and sunsets. Such an amazing host that is so accommodating and understanding.

We have lived at Lake Gaston for nearly 5 years now, having lived in Richmond, while raising our kids. Once they had their wings, we had our wings and fulfilled our dream of living at this beautiful lake. Laura grew up on a lake in the Adirondacks and couldn't wait to get back to lake life. We love boating, skiing, floating on the lake with a cocktail in hand, going out to dinner by boat and sailing on our sunfish when there's a nice breeze.
Prior to being a guesthouse, it was an over-sized two-car garage. Because we have 6 children who are now beginning to marry and start families, and lack of room for all at the main house, we decided to change the garage into a guesthouse to accommodate them. Being that the garage was lakefront with better views than the main house, it was an easy decision. When the kids and now grandkids, aren't here, we make it available to you.

Why they chose this property

Beautiful water views in every direction. Located on wide main lake cove. See the main lake but sheltered from boats and their waves. Long, narrow beach, 14 feet of water at end of the boathouse. Ladder up to top dock to jump off! Kayaks and a canoe for guest use as well as water loungers. Fire tables on private patio and at the dock in front of the large swing. Wood burning stone fireplace just added Sept 2021 on your patio. Sun and shade areas on dock. Be a bartender at the NautiBar! Rent a boat and keep it at the dock. Boat rental and fishing tour information available. Guesthouse manual with lists of things to do as well as restaurants in the area.

What makes this property unique

For couples staying a week or more, included is a one hour ride tour our 24 foot pontoon boat at a mutually agreeable time.
