We had the best experience from the first contact with Aubrey to our first tour of the place to our countless questions and our stay. It was clean, comfortable , and beautiful! Great place for families to meet and relax around the fire or in the beautiful dining room or the many other rooms. We appreciate having our own space with private bathrooms. We can’t say enough positive things about the place.
Three Pines was a perfect venue for our needs. Very clean and charming. Aubrey was very accommodating, flexible, & quick to respond to all my questions.
We stayed with a group of 10 work staff & the location & facility was excellent. Well stocked kitchen - Great support from on site property staff. Overall a great stay.
Tons of character, wonderfully taken care of, great hosts, Aubrey is super easy to work with and very accommodating. Loved the flexibility to host our wedding in a unique way that fit us!
Three Pines was absolutely the best place we have stayed as a family. Aubrey was very nice and helpful throughout the entire renting process. Plenty of rooms for all and enough room for all 15 of us to eat and play games together. The home was old, but with a relaxed ambiance and in excellent shape. Very clean with all accommodations. The is the second time renting here and will continue to be on our bucket list for future family vacations.
Absolutely perfect place for our family and friends to stay for our wedding weekend. Plenty of space and bathrooms. Dining room was fabulous for sharing meals together. Both nights we enjoyed the fire pit closest to the house. We used the outdoor grill one evening. Also used kitchen appliances. Everything worked great and was very clean. Everyone just loved it! House manager was very responsive and helpful in the months leading up to the weekend as well.
Three Pines is an amazing place! We hosted our wedding here in June of 2025 and could not have asked for a more beautiful setting, attentive staff, and quiet grounds. We had guests in every rentable room, and they all raved about the accommodations. It was especially hot outside during our stay and the house was a very comfortable temperature with the ability to adjust certain rooms to be warmer or cooler to your needs, which was especially pleasing given the historic nature of the home. You will not be disappointed renting the entire house for an event or a single room for yourself. We loved everything about Three Pines and will be back to celebrate anniversaries and events for years to come!

Perfect! But some missing info:
The home is absolutely gorgeous and makes for an unforgettable event. I hope the listing gets updated, but please keep in mind there is an innkeeper that lives attached to the home and you will see her and her visitors very often. Highly suggest for smaller weddings and not larger!
Three Pines as utterly charming with lots of historic detail. We had a group of 18 people ranging in age from 7 - 77 and it was a wonderful place to enjoy quality time together. We cooked all of our meals at the mansion and enjoyed an evening around the fire pit as well. There are books and games and plenty of rooms so that we could be together as a large group or separate into smaller groups as needed. Our only wish was for a book telling us some history about the mansion and maybe some renovation pictures! Thanks for great hospitality!
We hosted our extended family here to celebrate our son’s marriage. The wedding was down the road a bit at a larger venue - but a smaller wedding would have been lovely here. There was plenty of room for us to gather and space to get away. We loved exploring the mansion, gathering around the giant dining room table for a game, and cooking for the group in the well fitted kitchen. One of our guests described the weekend at the mansion as “magical”. I couldn’t agree more!
Gorgeous property with lovely details all around. Everywhere you looked, there was beauty. We had three families come together for a weekend of cooking and low key New Year’s Eve fun and this venue was just perfect for all of us. The library is stocked with games, puzzles, and books and the kitchen has mostly everything you need to create a scrumptious meal (it is more geared towards cooking for larger groups). Outside is a lovely fire pit and the town square is a short walk down the hill where we stopped at a lovely coffee shop. Overall everyone enjoyed themselves and kept saying how beautiful the place was. The property is well taken care of and we all had a fantastic time!
Our stay was absolutely divine. Even though the house was immense, it felt so welcoming and accommodating. Audrey greeted us as we came in all dressed up. We felt so special! We had 20 people in our overnight group and another 8 who gathered to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. There were so many dishes and serving trays and beautiful bowls to put all of the things in. The kitchen has a Wolf stove we all loved and 2 dishwashers and plenty of space for everyone to put their things. The grounds are amazing with the fabulous fire pit which we enjoyed. The kids loved the many places to hide when playing. We loved Tgree Pines and would love to come back one day.
Every year our family does a week long family reunion with 25(ish) of us. It’s always hard to find a house that can fit us all comfortably without people getting left sleeping on couches or air mattress on the floor of common rooms, however this house fit us all with room to spare. Everyone felt comfortable, relaxed, and stress free for the whole week. We were able to fit most of us around the dining table, which was also a plus, and the outdoor space allowed ample room for yard games and wildlife viewing. I’ve already been recommending this house to friends, family, and strangers, and would gladly return for to stay here again. A plus is the cute town that is Petersburg, with their shops, eats, and drinks.
To stay in such a beautifully restored historic mansion was a real treat, and such a fun way to get our whole family together to celebrate a milestone birthday. The house has a lot of space to gather together, but with several individual parlors, it also made it easy to visit or play games in smaller groups. The kitchen is a good size and well stocked for preparing meals, and having 2 ovens, sinks, and dishwashers was helpful. The owners have created a very comfortable guest house with lovely rooms and suites, each one a little different. We loved everything about our stay and would highly recommend. I forgot to sign the guestbook since we were busy visiting with family, so I'll mention my only suggestion would be to put a photo album or book in the house with before and after pictures, along with pictures of the renovation, and a little background info so guests can really appreciate the history of this amazing house.
I can't say enough good things about this property and the host. Becca, the host, was wonderful. She communicated frequently and was very accommodating. The house was tastefully decorated for Xmas which was so appreciated. The house sits high on a hill overlooking the town and is just gorgeous. We have a large family and it was great seeing their faces when they walked in for the first time and said, "wow!" The kitchen was perfect for a large group with two stove/ovens, two sinks, and lots of counter space. It had plenty of dishes and pans. The large dining room table was a gathering place for meals, drinks and games. The library had lots of games and books. The number of bedrooms with attached baths was great as we have five families. Overall, we couldn't have picked a better place for our family gathering.
Every member of the family enjoyed their week long stay. Something for all to do. Becca, the manager, was super nice and helpful. Enjoyed chatting with her. The home was huge with enough rooms to comfortably fit all 19 family members. Although the home was very old it was in excellent shape and very clean. The town was small, but had several restaurants, a brewery and wineries close by. Close to New Salem and Springfield, IL. We are discussing going back for a future annual family vacation.
Everything about our wedding weekend was incredible! Becca made sure the property was in beautiful condition for our outdoor ceremony, and the little barn was perfect for our rehearsal dinner. I wouldn't change a sinlgle thing. We are all so thrilled that we decided on Three Pines for a celebration we will cherish forever.
Three Pines is the best of both worlds. The mansion and grounds are beautiful and stately but so welcoming at the same time. There are wonderful games in the library. Cozy places for visits are enhanced by the furnishings and the pieces of history that can be found throughout. The kitchen is fabulous. Many bathrooms and other amenities. We love this place and the manager is fabulous.
I took my sisters, their husbands and several nieces and nephews for a trip to the ark, creation museum and then to Springfield, IL (3 nights) to do everything Lincoln such as museum, tomb, etc. I reserved Three Pines which was about 16 miles from Springfield, but near Lincoln's New Salem Village.
We could not have been more pleased. Staying in the beautiful old home was a highlight of the trip! Becca, the property manager, was incredible and she went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable!! We could not have been more pleased. To stay at Three Pines was like stepping back in time. The home was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I strongly recommend this property. This is a property that just added to our experience and we created wonderful memories!!!
