We had a good experience, I did find it difficult to get responses from the host about check in. We had fast response to minor issues once we arrived, Rebecca was great. We enjoyed the "homey
This is a cute little old house. It was great for a landing place as I was visiting family. House was reasonably clean and a great price. The property manager was really nice and responsive. FYI: the air conditioning is 2 window units and the toilet is really close to the shower stall.
The stay would have been ok if it weren’t for the fact that the beds and rooms were very dirty. I couldn’t stop sneezing from the dust, and the smell of the bedsheets was very strong. But otherwise, it did the job.
The house was clean, check in was easy, everything as described. The location is about 1 mile from Hillsdale University. It's an easy walk to campus and the neighborhood is quiet.

You get what you pay for.
It was cheap and convenient. It was sorta clean, but it was generally uncomfortable.
The listing is accurate and the owner was very attentive and eager to help. I stayed there with my son visiting the college. We are both 6' 3" and I should have known better than to book a house with double beds (had limited options for our dates). We booked for two nights but only stayed one because of the beds being uncomfortable. The owner said she would remove the mattress toppers to solve the issue, but I didn't give her the opportunity. We went to a hotel a town over to make sure we got a good night of sleep that second night. Smaller people would probably do better.
My son is a college student and was unable to travel home this year so I went to him. It was wonderful we were able to spend time together, cook meals, and generally relax. The house was perfect for the 2 of us and what we needed.
Nancy was very responsive for all of my questions.
Thank you so much for sharing your place with us.
The apartment is very small and not very clean. There were fruit flies all over the kitchen and in the bathroom; dead bugs on the floor; random items found in the furniture. Didn’t get the correct WiFi information until we’d been there for three days. Didn’t get information about getting clean towels or toilet paper/paper towels/etc. until we’d been there for four days. Beds were not comfortable. It worked, but definitely was not ideal.
Nancy was awesome with any questions I had and making sure I had everything I needed. My husband and I are definately planning on making this our first choice of a place to stay when in Hillsdale.

Unclean and unkept house and neighborhood.
House very dirty. Cleaned the whole place ourselves.. Toilet leaked on floor. House inside/out and yard unkept/overgrown. Owner was nice/attentive, having toilet fixed and getting more towels. Poor neighborhood.
Hillsdale has few options and we were happy to find a place to stay in town while attending graduation. It is a very small apartment with two full sized beds in two separate rooms and a small loveseat couch. It would be difficult for more than 2 adults to stay. It was very clean, had a full kitchen stocked with snacks and water, extremely small bathroom with shower. The toilet is VERY close to the shower---when seated your knees nearly touch the wall of the shower. It was fine for us becaues we have no mobility issues, but could be a concern. It is very reasonably priced, clean, easy to access with lock codes on the doors. We were happy to have a place in town!
This is a quaint and convenient apartment. Close to the college, coffee shop and grocery store. Well-decorated. The kitchenette is great. The rooms were very tidy but could use a deep clean. The beds are ok for a few days, though not the most comfortable. There is a dog who lives upstairs who made a fair amount of noise in the middle of the night, which was the biggest downside. The hostess was very responsive and helpful with questions. We stayed in winter and would have appreciated if the walk/front step had been shoveled or salted, as things were slippery, but not a huge problem.
We were moving our freshman student into the dorms and I found this place months ahead of the weekend for a beautiful price. It's older, and in an older neighborhood with a quaint little town "farm" across the street that fenced in their yard to hold goats , ducks, and chickens. The downstairs is the portion for rent. It is small but clean and nicely decorated. The floors are uneven, making the front doors difficult to close, but the front porch is a nice place to take coffee in the morning. The cooling units are in the back bedroom and the living room. They work well. The toilet is very close to the wall in front of it, making a nice headrest during constitutional but difficult to sit down on. Hall closet was well-stocked with towels, but no hairdryer or regular coffeemaker. although there is a Keurig. Overall, we had a nice stay! Thank you, Nancy!

About the host
Hosted by Nancy
About Owner Nancy: I am an artist, love old houses, interested in antiques, art, current events, politics. I am also an entrepreneur, and have had a number of small businesses. I love animals, rehabbing old houses, reading, working. I am actually a senior citizen, but feel like a 13 year old and relate very well to younger people. Lots of things left in life that I want to do and experience and learn. Favorite Food lately: my own cabbage soup! Favorite Music: Flamenco Guitar, Life motto: Feel the fear and do it anyway. Nancy has furnished the rooms of our old 1800's house with antiques she finds on her "treasure hunts". You will notice interesting and eclectic gallery walls that she has put together in each apartment, as well as her mosaic tile artistry in the kitchens, some dining table, end tables and mirrors (depending on apartment).
Nancy's assistant Rebekah (Bekah) does most of the customer relations work, reservations, and tech stuff for Nancy. She has worked with Nancy to help with the business since 2019. She will most likely be the one communicating with you here, via phone, and occasionally in person. Rebekah is also an artist, selling her art both online and in Hillsdale, as well as owner of a small local bakery business. She also enjoys old houses, antiques, estate sales, singing and playing guitar, animals, writing (especially poetry) , nature, knitting, pretty much anything arts and culture related. She is a board member of our local Historical Society and also does volunteer work looking after and teaching children (both art and historical living) in her spare time.
