We are located in Peoria, Oregon on the Willamette River. Our spacious (600sq ft) quarters with it's own entrance is privately located on the North end of our 100 year old granary residence. We offer beautiful grounds to stroll, the river to enjoy, and the peacefulness of country living.
Here at the Old River Granary there are plenty of opportunities to play, rest, and relax. Take a walk down the river, shoot a game of pool, or just relax in the hammock by the river.
Step out on the private balcony and see both sunrise over the Cascade mountains and sunset over the coast range. Views vary with the seasons.
Corvallis, home of Oregon State University, is located just 10 minutes away and offers a friendly home town atmosphere with a variety of stores, river front restaurants and a wonderful farmers market (Apr-Nov) with fresh local produce, fruits, flowers, honey, jams and more.
The Old Granary is truly a little piece of paradise, away from the stress of everyday life. We think your stay at the River Guest Quarters will be an experience to remember...and we welcome you!

Moved from Laguna Beach to escape the density of California and feel so blessed to have purchased this historic 100 year old granary on the 10th largest river in the United States. Country living is a dream come true.
Kathy and Gregg Jakobson purchased this apartment in 1997
We purchased this property the day it went up for sale. We were walking our dogs from the home we had been renting which we intended to rent for a year before deciding to make Oregon our permanent residence. It was providential! How often does a 100 year old Granary on the water come up for sale? The rest is history
We fell in love with this unique piece of property, the old barn, the Douglas fir wood floors the wood beams and ceilings, the incredible river view the country living that provides serene and peaceful surroundings. Watching the eagles dive into the water and come up with a fish, all the species of birds right outside our windows. Relaxing in our hammock overlooking the river. Remodeling and watching all the potential this property had was an amazing journey. We fall more in love with it with each passing day and remain grateful for our lives here at the Old Granary.
What a perfect little getaway! Thank you for sharing this amazing spot with us. Your warm hospitality made us feel at home right away.
We were in the Corvallis area for a week, for our daughter’s wedding, as were quite a few friends and family. Because we had found such a unique get-away, and because the Riverhaus owners are so kind and accommodating, we were able to invite other wedding guests for visiting, a ride on the swing, picking blackberries, wading in the river, and dinner for 12 on the deck. We had the use of the whole property, and Kathy and Gregg made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. I appreciated the space and freedom to be ourselves.
Riverhaus is a converted barn with an unusual and interesting history. The apartment is beautifully decorated, and the kitchen equipped with everything a traveler could want. It was very hot the week we were there, but there were several fans and we were not ever uncomfortable.
It was fantastic to be on the river. The apartment has a great view of the water. A lot of birds were also loving the water; we saw a great blue heron, an osprey, a small flock of mergansers, and a bald eagle.
The drive to Corvallis is quick and pretty, with no traffic. There is a farmer’s market within a few miles; it was selling some of the best corn on the cob I’ve ever eaten. I hope we get to return, maybe in other seasons to see what the river is like then.
We were looking for someplace close to home that had that "vacation" feel to spend our 4th wedding anniversary. We found that, and more, at the Riverhaus! Kathy was there to greet us and show us around the beautiful, slice of paradise that her and Gregg have created for their guests. The amenities were above and beyond; the view of the river relaxing and serene. We even took some time to enjoy the beautiful pool table in the barn ... that was fun! Being a photographer of nature, there was opportunity for some amazing pictures with bald eagles, and other birds everywhere. We got a great sunset and even a small rain which was refreshing. We are very pleased that we found this gem and plan on going back. Thank you Gregg and Kathy for the experience!
We stayed in a hotel in our first visit to Corvallis (OSU tour). The ten minute drive from town to stay at this property, with its river view and the immediate feeling of being at home, was well worth it. The setting is tranquil and exhilarating at the same time. When the rain comes the birds appear to go into a feeding frenzy over the river, and when the sun is out watching and listening to it flow was equally interesting. Serene is an understatement. Worlds away from the rush of daily life and the perfect way to slow the pace down enjoy our last few days as a 3 person household and get our son moved into his dorm at OSU. A comfortable transition a hotel just couldn't offer. We have stayed in many VRBO properties and really enjoyed this one as much if not more than the others-and they were all great too. Kathy couldn't have been more accommodating and the house was like a second home right away. A perfect getaway and for us part of the memory of the first day of college. Thanks to Kathy and Gregg for sharing their lovely property with us, we intend to stay again in the future.
We were very happy with our stay. The hosts Kathy & Gregg wanted to make our stay enjoyable which it was. Even though they live on-sight we felt like we had the property to ourselves. The amount of space we had was unbelievable.
The price was great and friends that were staying in Corvallis at the hotels were jealous.
We wish we had come here earlier and spent more time chillin on the river. Would have been a perfect place to bring our kayaks if they would have fit in the top of the MG.
We stayed for a week while in town for my Sister's wedding and enjoyed every moment here. The owners were welcoming and so friendly. The property was just amazing! We felt so peaceful and comfortable.
My husband and I both agree that the celebration of our 21rst anniversary, at the Old Granary, was, so perfect, it exceeded all of our expectations. The hosts,Gregg and Kathy, with their warmth and generous nature, their eye for design, as well as their talent for detail, made for a weekend that left us wanting for nothing. We felt as though we could be anywhere our hearts desired, with the tranquil sound and the breath taking view of the Willamite river and the white pebbled shoreline that resembles the coast, yet our cottage was actually part of an old granary that sits nestled in a peaceful farmland community that takes you back to those days of a simpler life. Now combine all this with rustic elegant furnishings and local artwork and you are almost there. When it comes to recreation, its still a tie between playing pool in their authentic, turn of the century billards room or standing in the river and catching a beautiful rainbow trout while watching two bald eagles soar above. It just doesnt get any better. We made this our official future anniversary getaway.
Easy access to walking, jogging and bicycling on flat country roads surrounded by acres of farmland. Wine tours throughout the Willamette Valley are a must. Steps from front door enjoy boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, river floats or just relax and watch the river flow.
