About Dale Donovan

I was born and raised in Corvallis. After high school, I spent 4 years in the military. Upon discharge, I enrolled and graduated from OSU with an art degree. After I graduated, I purchased the farm from my parents and built my studio and display room here. I have been a working ceramic artist since 1969 and I have been selling pottery and trees from this farm since 1973.

Dale Donovan purchased this house in 1953

Why Dale Donovan chose Corvallis

My mother's family moved to Oregon via covered wagon in 1852. They settled in the Willamette Valley. My father traveled from the midwest in 1936, married my mother Lucille and they settled permanently in Corvallis. I purchased this tree farm from my parents when I graduated from college. I built my studio and I have been selling pottery and trees here ever since.

What makes this house unique

The city has grown up around us, the tree farm remains a peaceful refuge. There is a ring of ancient oaks around us. And almost every evening in the summer, a beautiful wind from the Pacific blows across the valley and through our oaks and firs.

Loved every moment of our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were there to visit our daughter. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms are fully stocked with everything you need. The outside shed has games galore for every age kid. My kids(almost adults) had more fun playing football, soccer, badminton, volleyball and even blowing bubbles with our young visitors. The home is nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac and the property is beautiful. Thank you Dale for a wonderful weekend. I was really trying to figure how to get a Christmas tree on a plane :)

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for the feedback regarding the water pressure. In response to your observation, we have replaced the shower head in the Hobbit bathroom and improved the water pressure. We bought a new toaster too! Thanks again, hopefully we can server your family again on their next trip to Corvallis. Best regards, Dale

Really fun for our group! Farm house perfect spot for relaxation, connecting w old friends.

  • 5 of 5

Dale was friendly and helpful, and the house was perfect for our group. We were in Corvalis for a wedding and except for going to that, and to grocery store, we spent the time at the house, sitting outside, eating, watching birds. His workshop is very interesting and 2 of us bought beautiful bowls. Rooms comfortable, kitchen well equipped!

Wonderful experience- would stay again!

  • 5 of 5

Such a great place to stay. Very clean and well maintained. Be aware that there is not a bathroom upstairs where two of the bedrooms are, if that is important to you. The owners were so kind and accommodating. We were in town for a wedding and had a family gathering one evening and they had extra tables and chairs available, as well as lawn games. It was great. They such nice people - we definitely would stay again!

Great property country feel in the city!

  • 5 of 5

This property truly is in a Christmas tree farm. We had our dog and my wife and i strolled the property. Dale was very friendly and accommodating. His pottery was amazing. We played yard games and it worked out perfectly to get to town easily. Bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of room. The old charm of the house exuded thru with touches like the Harry Potter bathroom! We did watch some tv and sat in the rocking chairs for some good conversation. Thanks again!
