About Dale Donovan

I was born and raised in Corvallis. After high school, I spent 4 years in the military. Upon discharge, I enrolled and graduated from OSU with an art degree. After I graduated, I purchased the farm from my parents and built my studio and display room here. I have been a working ceramic artist since 1969 and I have been selling pottery and trees from this farm since 1973.

Dale Donovan purchased this house in 1953

Why Dale Donovan chose Willamette Valley

My mother's family moved to Oregon via covered wagon in 1852. They settled in the Willamette Valley. My father traveled from the midwest in 1936, married my mother Lucille and they settled permanently in Corvallis. I purchased this tree farm from my parents when I graduated from college. I built my studio and I have been selling pottery and trees here ever since.

What makes this house unique

The city has grown up around us, the tree farm remains a peaceful refuge. There is a ring of ancient oaks around us. And almost every evening in the summer, a beautiful wind from the Pacific blows across the valley and through our oaks and firs.

Graduation Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay for daughter's OSU Graduation 2016 couldn't have been better! We were able to gather family members from as far away as Illinois to celebrate together in this comfortable and super clean farmhouse. The best part was the after grad festivities which included my daughter's friends along with all the outdoor games that are available for use at the farm. Great for young and old as we filled the farmhouse with 8 folks ranging in age from 10 months to 74 years!

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this charming farmhouse in May, and we had just a wonderful time. The house is well maintained, and has everything you need for comfort and feeling at home. The owner Dale is a delightful person, and really makes you feel welcome! He also has a great deal of history in the area. His pottery is around the property and adds extra charm to the quiet, serene location. When we come to Oregon again, we will look no further than Dale's place. It is a winner!! Thanks Dale!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I visited our son at OSU for three days and the Farmhouse could not have been a more perfect place to stay. It's so close to the campus and and an absolutely beautiful location. We were able to entertain our son and his friends for dinner and just hang out. Dale is a great host and the accommodations are the next best thing to being at home. Great games, music, books and decor. Certainly our choice for any future visits to Corvallis.

Perfect accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

Our family congregated at the farmhouse for the week before our daughters wedding. Our every need was met, and then some! The kitchen is equipped well enough to cook for the whole crew, and there was comfortable cozy room for all of us to visit, dine and entertain. Dale was the consummate host, making sure all was well. The outdoor area was as fabulous as the indoors. We had two grand babies with us, and even they had a great week!

A little bit of heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time staying at the 1880's farmhouse. The owners are a great and made us feel very welcome. The farm house is very clean and comfortable. Fascinating antiques, quilts and art abound. Each time someone walked through a room they noticed something to grab their attention that they had not yet seen. The outdoors, especially the very tall and old oak trees provides shade and a place to reflect. We highly recommend Donovan’s farmhouse.
