About Dale Donovan

I was born and raised in Corvallis. After high school, I spent 4 years in the military. Upon discharge, I enrolled and graduated from OSU with an art degree. After I graduated, I purchased the farm from my parents and built my studio and display room here. I have been a working ceramic artist since 1969 and I have been selling pottery and trees from this farm since 1973.

Dale Donovan purchased this house in 1953

Why Dale Donovan chose Corvallis

My mother's family moved to Oregon via covered wagon in 1852. They settled in the Willamette Valley. My father traveled from the midwest in 1936, married my mother Lucille and they settled permanently in Corvallis. I purchased this tree farm from my parents when I graduated from college. I built my studio and I have been selling pottery and trees here ever since.

What makes this house unique

The city has grown up around us, the tree farm remains a peaceful refuge. There is a ring of ancient oaks around us. And almost every evening in the summer, a beautiful wind from the Pacific blows across the valley and through our oaks and firs.

Perfect place for our family to stay. The farmhouse is cozy, spacious, and private. Great location! Dale is very welcoming and we plan to stay there on our next visit.

Great family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at the farm house around 7 pm, the house was unlocked, warm and welcoming! Mr Donovan came down, greeted us and showed us around the property. We traveled around Oregon a lot during our 5 day stay, but we were always glad to come back to the cozy farm house to relax, rest and rejuvenate! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a warm, cozy, friendly, family environment!

A unique option in Corvallis

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Donovan Christmas tree farm. We stayed in the main house on the bottom floor. It was roomy and had everything you could ever need. Just be aware the owners do live above you, so you may hear them from time to time.

Very quaint rustic farmhouse.

  • 5 of 5

Donovan Place is located on a Christmas tree farm. There were two places for rent a 1880’s farmhouse and a contemporary flat. I had the farmhouse, my sister had the flat. The farmhouse has some renovations, bringing the kitchen and restroom up to date. It had all the necessities and a gas fireplace which kept us warm. The owner was really welcoming. We will stay there again.
