We really enjoyed our stay at the Big Kahuna. It was just as they said it was on VRBO. In the perfect spot... close to everything we wanted to do. We would definitely stay there again.
My family enjoyed staying the weekend at this cabin. From playing games, laughing around the table and enjoying the out doors.

Loved staying in Wears Valley, kinda in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go. It was so convenient. Cabin was as described with plenty of space for everyone. Loved the porch swing, especially while enjoying the mornings and evenings. Fire pit was also a plus. Great place for a family to stay.

Hi Hayley. We are so glad that Big Kahuna Lodge was a great fit for you and the family. Hopefully you enjoyed the white Christmas in the area as well. We are looking forward to having you stay again with us on the next visit.
The cabin location was great. It met all of our needs for our girls trip. We loved the Christmas tree that was set up. The only negative was a few of the outlets in one of the downstairs bedrooms did not work. Everything else was great.

Hi Allyson! Thank you for staying with us. We love when a group gets to come here and enjoy the Smokies. As everything else was great about the property we do hope the same holds true with your time in Smokies. We look forward to having you back with us again.
Loved the property and the house. Caught lightning bugs at night, perfect location to dollywood. Suggest hitting walmart for food and alcohol. The winery nearby was horrible and only gas stations for beer but thats def not the properties fault.Only downfall was there was a giant connect 4 game in the closet but we couldn't find the pieces anywhere in the house that go with it. May a few more kids games as there was only pool and having 5 children try and play was difficult.

Hi Tasha! We're so happy to hear you loved the property and the house! Catching lightning bugs sounds like a magical experience, and we're thrilled our location was perfect for your Dollywood visit. Thanks for the tip about Walmart for groceries – that's helpful for future guests!
We appreciate you letting us know about the Connect 4 game; we'll definitely look into finding those missing pieces right away. We also appreciate your feedback about additional kids' games, and we'll certainly consider adding more options for our younger guests.
It sounds like you made some wonderful memories, and we hope to welcome you and your family back soon!

Wonderful time celebrating our anniversary
We all had a wonderful time. Only 25 minutes from the parkway which has so much to enjoy. And the time spent at the cabin with family and friends was such a blessing. The hottub felt amazing, nice set of cookware and dishes to use. Pool table was a great touch and the bedroom were all a nice size and comfortable. Toilet space is a bit tight if your thicker in the hips however made it work regardless.

We had a great time here. Minor complaints about spiderwebs in Master Bath. Description is accurate but if you are looking for a cabin high in the mountains, this one isn't. I didn't want a cabin in the steep mountains so this one was fine. Only minus is that it sits on the road. Very convenient to have both gas and charcoal grills. Beautiful wrap around porch.

Good Bones, bad maintenance .
This cabin is well built and great location. But the property is so dirty, cob webs all over, old stained carpet, old furniture, etc. This could be such a lovely place with a little TLC. It was sad to see such neglect in a place that could be beautiful. The owners really should invest some money and bring this place back to its original glory.

Hello Cathy! Thank you for staying with us and it sounds like the location worked well for you. We appreciate the suggestions. Look forward to booking your next stay with us.
Very comfortable cabin. The kitchen was well equipped, other than lacking measuring cups and a sharp knife. The location was convenient. My one negative comment was that, other than the three bedrooms with king-size beds, the only other sleeping spots are on a trundle bed and a fold-out chair, both of which are in the loft and which would have to share a bathroom with the master bedroom if the occupants were not to go downstairs for the bathroom. So we had to unexpectedly share a couple of beds, but we all very much enjoyed our stay.

Hello Sharon! Thank you for staying with us. We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and the Smoky Mtn area. It's good to know also that the location worked well. We do look forward to having you with us again.
I'm glad that we brought a cot because the listing says there is a queen pull out bed and two twin pull outs along with the 3 king bedrooms. There were 3 twins but no queen. There is no queen bed at all. Outside patio furniture was really dirty but overall it was worth the money.

Hi Marianne! Thank you for staying with us. We appreciate the honest review. We have looked over the description. Our maintenance is available 24/7 and would've been happy to accommodate for the missing queen. The outside patio furniture has been addressed with the cleaners. Sounds like you had some great times. We can't wait to have you back with us again.
The overall cleanliness was fine. The ease of check-in was nice and you were quick to respond with questions. We enjoyed our trip to the area but we would not stay in this house again if we were to return. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and the plays was tidy. However, the cobwebs on the mounts were unpleasant as were the windows on the upper floor. They appeared to not have been cleaned in a while. I didn't want to use the front porch because the furniture was quite dirty. The runner in the den was a trip hazard. The floors upstairs were so creaky in spots that it woke up the people below when we would go the bathroom. Especially the upstairs bathroom floor in front of the sinks, and the right side of the bed. There appears to be water damage around the jacuzzi tub. When we pulled out the trundle bed for the children, there was roach paper stuck to the sheets so it appeared to not have been changed in a while. Thank you for the opportunity to respond.

Your detailed feedback is invaluable to us, as it helps us identify areas that need immediate attention. We're truly sorry that these issues impacted your stay, and we understand your decision not to return. We are committed to using your comments to make the necessary improvements and ensure a better experience for future guests.
We had a very nice time. The cabin is spacious and well decorated. Large A frame windows and a wrap around porch with plenty of seating. The kitchen was well stocked and the washer and dryer were a big help. The fire pit in the front yard was nice. We were visited by bears twice! We didn’t actually see them, but we could hear them nearby. It was very exciting. The beds were all very comfortable and the extra hideaway beds allowed for everyone to have their own place to sleep! The pool table up in the loft was a big hit with the kids. The master bedroom upstairs is very large With his own private bath.
The only two things that were a little disappointing: We did find mouse droppings inside the home and the front yard area is covered up with poison ivy. I’m not sure if there’s anything they can do to keep the mice at bay but surely they could spray for the poison ivy inside the yard.
Other than that, we had a lovely time and we would not hesitate to go back here again.

Hi Cathy! Thank you so much for staying with us. We are thrilled to hear that you guys had such a great time. The kids were entertained as well, which helps tremendously. Sounds like everyone was comfortable. We do apologize for the mouse droppings. Just to let you know our maintenance is available 24/7 and would've been more than happy to bring out traps or something. We appreciate you letting us know about the poison ivy and will get that taken care of asap. We are very much looking forward to have you and the family back with us again.
As soon as we arrived to the property the house looked nothing like in the pictures. The yard was not kept up and the outside of the house was filthy. Spider webs and dust was everywhere. Inside the house it looked as if no one had cleaned in months. There’s dust on all of the furniture, countertops, and tables. The beds were super worn out and squeaked like crazy. They even had low spots in the mattresses where they had been worn out. Very disappointed in this cabin. The stove is very out dated and cooking on it was not a pleasant experience. The good thing is that the hot tub worked and at least the tv in the living room was decent.

The Big Kahuna
My family and I stayed here for 1 week. There are some things we were not satisfied with but knew contacting the owner would do us absolutely no good for the short amount of time we were there. First off, the couch smelled of urine to the point we couldn’t sit on it. The living room carpet was stained with something orange, unsure if it was food or what. The grill was totally unusable. Too much grease and burnt food crisps in it. (Yes, we could have cleaned it, but that wasn’t ideal for the amount of money spent for the rental, would have been a whole days job). Mice. Mice were very active. Mouse poop upstairs around the jacuzzi tub. Mouse poop in kitchen drawers. We ended up buying mouse traps the last night we were there, and caught two. Dishes/pots had to be washed before being used. Dried food and grease in them. Spider webs and dead bugs in every corner and windowsill of the house. The outside and inside of the windows could use a good cleaning, makes it hard to enjoy your views trying to look through all the webs. We also had to wash bed sheets in the master bedroom before sleeping the first night, something sticky was on the blanket. Maybe it’s just me expecting more from a cleaning crew at a vacation rental. Seems they just do not take their time. Good luck on future rentals. Overall, if the property was cleaner, we would absolutely rent again. But in these conditions, we were quite disappointed.

Nice Home, but if you are like us and peculiar about cleanliness choose another cabin.
The home was nice, we enjoyed our stay but was very disappointed in feeling like we were not in a clean environment. Dirty rag in corner of jacuzzi tub in master bathroom as well as hair in tub and rat droppings all around tub when we arrived. Hair in downstairs shower, rat dropping in kitchen drawers, we washed everything we used prior to using. Porch was covered with dust, leaves and cigarette buds. We rent cabins yearly sometimes multiple times and have never rented one we felt that was unsanitary. If you care about feeling like your cabin has been well cleaned prior to rental I would advise another cabin. If not, then the cabin is nice as well as the view!!
