Questa confortevole casa in stile country con un arredamento attraente è il rifugio invernale ideale e si rivolge a piccoli o grandi gruppi. Ideale per vacanze sulla neve per famiglie economiche.

Riverlea ha un'atmosfera rilassata e accogliente con un ambiente caldo e delizioso. Un posto dove puoi rilassarti comodamente se vuoi o alzarti e entrare. Inoltre viene fornito con due stufe a gas per riscaldamento istantaneo e un bruciatore a legna.

È perfetto per chi desidera tutti i comfort di casa e la propria privacy a un prezzo economico. Ideale per famiglie o gruppi in cerca di una fetta di vita rurale di kiwi in quanto la casa si trova direttamente accanto a una fattoria come ambiente con paddock aperti (una riserva pubblica), Riverlea Cottage è anche a soli 100 metri dal bellissimo fiume Wanganui. L'ambiente è estremamente tranquillo e pacifico. In genere, l'unica cosa che sentirai la mattina è il occasionale gorgoglio delle gazze (uccelli).

Riverlea Cottage è vicino a tutti i servizi necessari per rilassarsi, con supermercato, ristoranti, cinema e altro. Sono inclusi anche un videoregistratore, un lettore DVD, una Playstation e giochi da tavolo per giorni interiori. Asciugatrice e lavatrice sono inoltre disponibili

Il supermercato in particolare è un vero vantaggio poiché il Parco Nazionale ha solo un garage / minimarket. La mancanza di un supermercato decente ha la tendenza ad aumentare il costo del tuo razzo per le vacanze in quanto cibo e bevande sono molto costosi sulla montagna. Il Parco Nazionale è a metà-4 ore di auto dalla città di Manukau Auckland e Ohakune è di 4 e mezza-5 ore da Auckland.

A wonderful place to stay

We really enjoyed staying in the art house. A good welcome from Mark and good communication during the booking process. The house felt like home, had games and activities with plenty of outdoor space if we were travelling with grandchildren. We would definitely stay again when in the area

Taumarunui gem

Mark and Lynne were great hosts. Their cottage was very clean, comfortable, warm, and boasts interesting art. It had everything we needed for the long weekend. Mark's help with checking in and out was great, and he has great knowledge of the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great stay in Taumarunui

We very much enjoyed our stay at Riverlea Cottage and art stay. Mark our host was there waiting for us when we arrived ( we called 15 minutes ahead while en route). He gave us good recommendations for dining , the Thai place was quite good and the Indian restaurant the best I've ever tasted. The house is 100 years old, spacious and comfortable. Mark is quite the artist and has his paintings throughout the house. He gave us a card with one of our favorite of his paintings and a bottle of fig jam which we are enjoying. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood, but within an easy walk to the restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. TV has Netflix. We choose Taumarunui as our base to bike the lower half of the Timber Trail Track our first full day and then did the Tangariro crossing the next full day. It was very nice to be there in Taumarunui in a comfortable home to unwind in after physically demanding days. I particularly enjoyed just being in a non touristy new Zealand town in a very Kiwi house and neighborhood where we appeared to be two of very few tourists.

We appreciated the modern kitchen and bathroom. Good sized bedrooms, comfortable lounge and a good location. Check in and check out was easy.

Great house for 8 people

Having the hosts near was really helpful. the house is organised well for a group. Well appointed. Art was interesting. I would recommend this as a place to stay.

A great cottage

A well appointed and very comfortable place to stay. It has plenty of room, comfortable beds, a great kitchen and a super place to sit and watch TV. The area is quiet and 2 mins drive to the shops in town. It was an ideal place to stay for fishing the great local rivers or exploring the superb countryside. A tip cottage and great value

We enjoyed staying in the cottage.

We enjoyed staying in the cottage. We enjoyed having a lawn for the kids to play on and there was plenty of room for 10 of us to stay.

My name is Mark and will be your host we look forward to having you stay with us. We have run this property as a Holiday home since 2004. As Hosts we are friendly and down to earth and will do our best to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. We live just a few minutes from the house so will be there if you need me quickly.

Type of Holiday Home
This house is more in line with a traditional Kiwi Bach. A traditional Kiwi Bach is a holiday home where you go to enjoy the great outdoors to get away from your city life and all the stress that goes with that. New Zealanders understand that you are often happiest just standing around a Barbeque with a beer or wine and perhaps with a freshly caught fish. So often these types of holiday homes do not try to be upmarket - rather relaxed and unpretentious. This one is full of Art with lots of Books, Magazines and games with an atmosphere that gives you a good feeling. The house is clean tidy and well kept. Riverlea Cottage is a good fit for those looking for affordable comfortable accommodation where they can relax and feel at home so they can get on with really enjoying their holiday. The House was build in the 1920s and is an old country Villa / Bungalow set next to open paddocks and the River beyond. It has a Newish Kitchen and Bathroom. The rest of the house is original but in good condition having a certain undefined charm and a slightly bohemian f eel. One of the comments we sometimes get is staying at Riverlea Cottage is like taking a holiday from your holiday - somewhere you can really relax.

So Riverlea cottage is a very peaceful tranquil location. It's hard to put your finger on why this is? It just is. I chose to move here to focus more on my fine artwork and you'll see a number of my artworks in the house. Apart from being one of the most beautiful parts of the country Taumarunui is the natural centre of the North Island and from hear many activities are in range of a short car ride (within 2 hours journey). The cottage is Insulated from train noise behind an embankment 50 meters behind the house it is quiet. Being only 150m from the Wanganui river through a public reserve, where you can catch trout from the riverbanks it's popular with Fishermen and women. We have a lot of guests staying who come to enjoy Canoeing down the River www.blazingadventures.co.nz, Cycling, and walking the Trail, especially the Timber Trail https://www.thetimbertrail.nz/ and 42 Traverse and the Tongariro crossing, lots of people come to enjoy Bookings with Forgotten World Adventures https://forgottenworldadventures.co.nz/ and of cause we have many people who come for Skiing and Snowboarding on Mt Ruapehu http://www.mtruapehu.com/ about 40 minutes drive away and in the other direction the Waitomo Caves an hour away https://www.waitomo.com That's one of the key benefits of this location, it is so central. You are less than 3 hour's drive away from 8 major cities and countless activities all within an easy drive.
But most of all Riverlea Cottage is comfortable homely, the beds are comfortable and the Shower is good and the house is fully decked out. The Bookshelves have plenty of Books and recent Magazines so it's the perfect place to relax and there is lots of Art on the Walls.
