A restful oasis - in the country but close to the city

We spent four nights in the Olive Grove cottage. It made a great base for our stay - it's only a short drive to major shops, but when you get back you can relax with views out to the gardens and olive grove. Marcia was a great host, very responsive (and we loved the fruit!).

Country Stay

We enjoyed our stay for 12 nights. It is a quiet location close to Christchurch and within a short drive to the Port Hills for walks, Halswell Quarry walks, Orana Wildlife Park, Willowbank Wild Life Reserve, etc, etc. All great places for families seeking outdoor activities not too far from the stay. You can enjoy just relaxing at the very clean facilities, a short walk through the olive gove or play tennis. A very enjoyable place to stay.

Thank you for your kind words about our Olive Grove Cottage Yes It is surprising to guests how close we are to everything given that we are on acreage but most definitely in Christchurch city. The Quiet & privacy is the key in this peaceful leafy spot. We really do enjoy having people such as yourselves stay here, even though its a 3 bedroom cottage we are happy to accommodate just couples or families that enjoy the great outdoors, Its now 25 yr since we planted on these 11 acres thousands of Olive trees, so in maturing they are nice to walk thru along with the now developed gardens. The pond is ever increasing in wildlife, Pukekos were here this morning. Your very welcome to come back to stay anytime our phone contact details are on Google Maps if you need it. Country Outlook

Lovely comfortable accommodation with gardens, tennis court and a small lake. Plenty of room indoors and with outdoor areas to relax and catch up with family. Hosts were available if required but kept to themselves. We had a car and found it close to, or easy to access, everything we needed or wanted to visit.

Quiet slice of paradis

The Owners of this property had excellent communication skills. ALthough this property is older it has double glazing to ensure you have a peaceful stay. It has the Owners house nearby however it is set up in such a way that you have your own private seating areas. Black out curtains, a comfortable bed with excellent pillows and a large area to stroll around close to the city and yet it appears a long way away, make this property ideal.

Comfortable country cottage in rural location

We enjoyed our short stay, we had a go on the tennis court which our daughter and I enjoyed. It was quiet and cosy and had everything you could need for a restful stay.

A little hidden paradise
