Fabulous cottage

Upscale, well appointed and lovely surroundings! Close to town, convenient to our event! Comfy beds, loads of linen, room for all and all the amenities of home.

This was an amazing property in a fantastic location. This was one of the best vacay rentals we ever stayed in. The house is beautifully finished, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, in a quiet location with a peaceful and beautiful view. The hosts were very easy to deal with, responded quickly, and gave simple and clear instructions on entry and leaving. The area around this rental is spectacular. It is less than 5 minutes from Enderby and has so many great things to do in the area, especially floating down the river!! This place was so great we extended our stay...twice! We will be back for sure and I highly recommend this renal and these hosts!

Get-together with Friends

My friends and I had a lovely stay at Blackbird Retreat. The cabin is very clean and immediately felt like home. The location feels secluded, but is only a 4-minute drive from downtown Enderby. We cooked all meals over our 6 night stay. The kitchen is well stocked with high-end appliances and cooking utensils. We loved sitting by the fire, playing card games, and listening to music.

No access code in instructions resulted in huge inconvenience

Because the owner did not provide the access code in the check in instructions and could not be reached we had to completely change our travel plansNot impressed

The welcome guide is sent 3 days before a guest arrives. If something was missing in the check-in instructions it could have been solved well beforehand. We have never had any issues with other guests and the access code. This was a very unfortunate mishap and we reached out with an apology and offered to rectify it when we could with no response. The stay was cancelled by 1:27pm on the day of check-in which is at 3pm.

Stay

The property was clean, well laid out, and very welcoming—overall a lovely space to stay. However, I was surprised to find security cameras on-site, including a motion-activated one at the front door, which wasn’t clearly disclosed in the VRBO listing. Clearer communication around surveillance would have made me feel more at ease.I also found the host’s communication to be somewhat passive-aggressive, particularly around a situation involving my dog. People have different views on how pets are managed, and mistakes with animals can happen. A bit more understanding and empathy would have gone a long way.With more transparency and gentler communication, this would have been an excellent stay.

The security cameras are clearly stated in the property description- all outdoor cameras are motion activated. Not disclosing that your dog has done damage to our property after leaving it tied up outside for over 8 hours and disrupting the neighbourhood with its shriek barking was the issue. Yes we do believe that is absolutely the wrong way to manage your pet. Also showing up with 2 more dogs without discussion, an extra person, and not communicating any of it before arriving was the reality before this. We did have understanding and empathy for that by letting them stay. Asking for a picture of the front door after being notified by our neighbour and reviewing the camera footage could have gone a lot differently if you didn’t try and skirt around the fact that something happened because you didn’t realize we had cameras. Accountability should be accepted on your behalf. Thanks for the poor review due to lack of it.

Stayed a week with my daughter and her fiancé while doing wedding preparations, and it was so relaxing there that all our prep was stress-free and completely manageable. It truly made what could have been a hectic time feel calm and enjoyable.The home itself was wonderful—spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and everything we needed was provided. The location was quiet and peaceful, yet still convenient, and the host was friendly, welcoming, and quick to respond. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-maintained place. It was truly the perfect setting for our stay, and we are very grateful for the hospitality and care shown throughout our visit.
