Downstairs are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and generous built in robe and the second with two sets of bunk beds. The family bathroom nearby has a full size bathtub in addition to the shower, plus a separate toilet. There is also a sitting area downstairs with a TV and DVD player, books and comfy couch. This area is perfect to keep the kids entertained, or the couch may be converted into a double bed for extras to sleep on (no doona or pillows provided for this, you will need to bring your own). We will approve up to 10 guests.There is a RC/AC unit in the sitting area downstairs.
The house features a tiled wet area downstairs, leading from the heated outdoor shower to the laundry inside, so sandy feet won't be a problem.
Upstairs is a wonderful open plan living, dining and kitchen space, all opening out onto a rear sundeck.There is a second RC/AC unit and a feature wood heater in this area.
The kitchen is bright and modern, with gas cooktop, oven, microwave, large two-door fridge and dishwasher. Plenty of dining furniture both inside and out on the rear deck, along with a BBQ, make this home ideal for sharing meals with friends and family.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, spacious walk in wardrobe and ensuite with shower, vanity and separate toilet. There is also a ceiling fan in the master bedroom.
Bedding for all beds is provided (doonas, pillows, blankets), however guests will need to supply linen (sheets, covers) and towels for their stay.
Well behaved outside pets are allowed, please note they are not permitted in the house. The property is not fenced.
Smoking is NOT permitted inside the property.
While the property is fully furnished and well equipped, it may not have all appliances and equipment you may be used to using. We apologise if this causes inconvenience.
- Guest Access
You have use of the entire house and yard. Guest access information will be provided the day of your arrival via email. This will include details on how to locate the property, where to locate the key safe, and the key safe combination to access the keys.
- Neighbourhood
Situated approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne and approximately 40 mins to Wilsons Promontory.
The property is located close to the main beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. Waratah Bay Surf Lifesaving Club patrols the beach over summer; they also have a bar, occasional meals and events.
Launch your boat at Shallow Inlet, just a short 5 minute drive. It's famous for wind surfing, kite surfing and fishing.
The Sandy Point General store is the hub for groceries, bait, petrol, gas, bottle shop and an Australia Post outlet.
A small Mini golf course is located next to our office on Beach Parade (seasonal).
Playgrounds, Tennis courts (equipment can be hired from the General Store), Half basketball court & public BBQ areas are located next to the Sandy Point Community Centre.
The Sandy Point Community Centre hosts art festivals, markets & other events over summer.
Sandy Point is a great base for exploring the local region. With Wilsons Promontory a short drive away, you can enjoy a range of short and long hikes that include breath taking beaches, rivers and wildlife encounters.
The historic towns of Fish Creek, Walkerville, Foster, Toora and Meeniyan are an easy drive away, offering outstanding local produce, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries.
Also in easy reach is the historic Cape Liptrap Lighthouse and Walkerville Lime Kilns at the famous Magic Beach, Walkerville South.
The Great Southern Rail Trail (131kms) runs from Nyora to Yarram and can be accessed at Fish Creek, it's ideal for biking or walking.
- Getting Around
Sandy Point is a lovely Village to stroll around, however getting beyond this you will need your own car.
- Other things to note
Due to the closure of the Gippsland Power Stations, during peak times (i.e. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control.
Each property in Sandy Point is on tank water and septic systems.
