Like many areas of New Orleans, the neighborhood is undergoing some renovations just like this house did. Some homes have been completely restored and others are awaiting their salvation! While some spots in the area may look a little rough, we've never experienced any safety issues here and our neighbors are wonderful people!

Two bedrooms in the lower unit sleep up to four guests across two beds. Both rooms are furnished with soft linens, extra pillows, and blankets - everything you need to recover from whatever the city threw at you the night before. Room-darkening shades keep things as dark or light as you like come morning.
Kitchen & dining The fully equipped kitchen is stocked and ready to go from the moment you arrive. A stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher handle everything from a simple breakfast to a full sit-down dinner. Dishes, silverware, wine glasses, a baking sheet, and cooking basics round out the setup. The coffee maker and coffee supply mean your morning ritual stays intact, and a dining table gives you a proper place to eat without resorting to the couch.
Outdoor living The fenced backyard is a standout feature - private outdoor space is genuinely rare in this part of the city. Pull up an Adirondack chair around the fire pit, fire up the BBQ, or just let the evening stretch out with a drink and good company. The outdoor cooler keeps refreshments close. It's the kind of backyard that turns a one-night stay into a two-night stay.

The property is clean and well maintained. While we were a little unsure about the neighborhood at first, we had no issues at all and found everyone we interacted with to be absolutely lovely and very friendly.The location was a huge plus - close to everything we wanted to do, and a Trader Joe’s, Waffle House, and Ruby Slipper just a short walk away (bonus!). The house has a noticeable downward slope toward the back of the house (kitchen/bathroom), which is worth mentioning. We also had an issue with the dryer during our stay, but the host had a repairman on site within hours - which was impressive and very much appreciated.

I really enjoy staying in an authentic N’awlins shot gun house. The house was clean and decorated very nicely. The fenced in back and front yard was great for our pup and the neighborhood was close enough to get around on the trolleys nicely. I did have an issue with the washing machine but the host offered a complimentary laundry service. If they fix the washer I would absolutely stay there every time I visit the Big Easy!!
