Welcome to The Tree House, our beautifully converted barn set on 100 acres of rolling hills and native forest backing onto Dorrigo National Park. The Tree House comfortably sleeps eight across three bedrooms. It is a great place for guests to relax and unwind. We are also pet-friendly, with fenced paddocks for your pets to safely roam. The vibrant towns of Bellingen and Dorrigo are a 15-minute drive from the house, with the stunning beaches of Sawtell and Hungry Heads a 25-minute drive away
The space The Bedrooms On the ground floor, the main bedroom with queen bed opens onto the front patio. A large study at the rear of the house doubles as a second bedroom with an extremely comfortable double sofa bed.
Upstairs on the mezzanine floor we have a third large bedroom that sleeps 4 (one queen and one double bed).
The Living Spaces The barn has been designed and styled with both comfort and luxury in mind. It has soaring cathedral ceilings, native blue gum beams sourced from the property and hardwood timber floors. There are two large open-plan living areas. One with a truly enormous and deeply comfortable sofa for a cosy evening watching a film together, the other with an open plan, well-equipped kitchen and dining area for sharing meals. Air conditioning allows for climate control through summer. The elevated aspect of the barn provides cooling breezes for most of the year. For those extra-chilly evenings, we have a wood-burning stove and a plentiful supply of fuel for it from our forest.
The Outdoor Spaces The living spaces open onto the covered front and rear decks. The rear deck has a BBQ, outdoor dining table and large sofa, whilst the front deck is a quiet space with two hammocks, providing ample space for alfresco dining, or simply to relax and watch the ever-changing mountain views.
Surrounding the barn is a large, fully fenced-level paddock. To the side of the house is a large Springfree trampoline. There are numerous fruit trees dotted around the garden for everyone to enjoy.
Work and Play If you need to work during your time here, the study provides some of the best views from the property and we have excellent 5G Wifi.
You can do as much or as little as you wish at the Tree House. Guests have access to all areas of the property and are welcome to hike through our native forests, wander down the driveway to take a cooling swim in the clear waters of the Rosewood River, or simply snooze in one of our hammocks to the gentle sounds of bellbirds in the forest. For quiet moments, we have a large library of books and board games. A backyard cricket set, bicycles and a trampoline are provided for those with more energy to burn.
Guest access You will have the property to yourself. There is space for up to six vehicles. Access is up a graveled/concreted driveway to the home paddock, which is fully gated and fenced. We do have a large dam on the property so, if you are bringing children and pets, please keep the gates closed during your stay.
Other things to note We are dog lovers and know that our dog, Ruby, loves it here at The Tree House. We welcome your furry friends but for the comfort of other guests please keep them off the furniture and beds (additional cleaning fees will apply).
Please note that whilst the home paddock is fully fenced and gated, if your dog is a committed digger/escapologist please keep an eye on them. We haven't yet seen any snakes in the garden but, as with all rural properties, we know they are out there!
