Beautiful home and spacious for multi family. Lake view was amazing. Loved that each room had its own restroom and a jack & jill for another. Kids loved the pool and the walk down to lake to fish. We didn’t find a spot to jump into the lake but that wasn’t why we rented the home. We wanted a fun weekend getaway to bring us all together and we did!

Totally beautiful views through the amazing floor to ceiling windows! The pool was amazing and we spent tons of time in it. The lake was great and we rented a boat from the marina and they were exceptional! Down sides - there is not shade for the pool and the sun is brutal. Take care if you have littles. The house has 10-12 foot ceilings and in the great room it is hard to hear what people are saying from the kitchen is you are in the living room. I'd suggest adding some more carpets or hanging tapestries to absorbe some of the sound. Additionally, be aware there is only 1 refrigerator so if you are cooking for 8 people as we were, it was a little cramped - there is a good grocery store nearby so plan accordingly. The very serious downside is the trip to the pool. The driveway is VERY STEEP, so if you have elderly or someone with mobility problems that could be a serious issue. My husband and I (both over 70 but in good health) ended up driving down the driveway to get to the pool. All in all we had an amazing time.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback. We do want to note that the listing photos and description do highlight the sloping backyard and the pool’s location down toward the lake, so we hope this helps provide some context regarding access. We understand, however, that the incline may be more challenging for some guests, particularly those with mobility considerations.

Check in process: everything went smooth! we were able to check in early—slight hiccup when we got to the house! There was a gate prior to reaching the house and there was no code listed anywhere , just a code to the door. I ended up calling the property company and they gave me a code but the code didnt work..good thing i was also in a text communication with the vrbo host and THEY told me that there’s actually no code, you just push the gate open. I recommend mentioning that to the future renters! Minor confusion and struggle there, but luckily everyone was communicative which i appreciated! House: House is beautiful and we were all very happy with the view, the rooms, the living room and kitchen and pool! Everything was clean, however, we did notice that there were a few utensils that were still dirty so we had to make sure to re-wash all the kitchen utensils before using them. Pool: Pool was beautiful, the only thing is we dont have access to the bottom floor so we had to exit from the house and go down the drive to access the pool..it was stated in the listing so everything was transparent from the start..just a little inconvenient for guests and slight safety issue bcoz we have to go downhill to get to the pool then back uphill to get back to the house..also if you have to use the restroom, you’ll have to make the treck back into the house. Overall: Communication with host was great, we were very satisfied and happy! would definitely go back !!

Beautiful lake house

We come to this lake twice a year and had never stayed at a house this beautiful. It has everything you need, the beds are very comfortable. I read about the bugs in the house, but if your staying by the lake you have to be aware of that. Beautiful views to wake up to and beautiful outdoors..

Canyon Lake vacation

This home is absolutely beautiful with an amazing deck to view the lake and stargaze. It is gated and felt safe. The beds are comfy, ac works great, Just a beautiful property. Only 2 boat ramps open on canyon lake when we were there so plan for long waits to put in…the lake is clean, clear beautiful water.

Amazing House

The House and the view are well worth it. Only complaint was I wish there was more pots and pans stocked especially if the house holds 10 people and you're trying to cook for 10 and pots are not big enough. Other than that the beds are very comfortable and house is very spacious. Made for a great Easter Weekend.

Great getaway!

We absolutely loved staying in this house! It was probably our favorite rental we’ve ever stayed in. We loved that it was all one level unlike most lake side rentals. It felt so high end, new, and clean. The location is so convenient. We loved being able to walk / ride straight down to the beach area at the back of the house. We met the friendly owner who lives on site. He is SO kind and accommodating. My only critique would be to maybe add mattress protectors. But man, those beds were comfortable! Thank you for allowing to book this stunning home! We so look forward to coming back.

Cool Home

The home was nice and seemed clean, but there was both an indoor and outdoor bug problem. The home had a build up of ants, spiders and tiny flies in the window sills, corners of the walls and on the outdoor patio. There was a live cockroach in the master bedroom. The home was clean, but could use a good wipe down of cobwebs and insects hanging out, and some exterminating. Overall it was spacious, a nice modern home, secure, and lots of animals and nature to explore.

Terrible explanation of property

Was not told that only half of the rental would be available. Communication is key. If I’d know we wouldn’t have access to the full home I wouldn’t have rented it for 2grand hits why the didn’t say anything. No lake access. Update your information on the site.

We appreciate guest reviews, though we've always advertised the lower level of the home with a friendly caretaker. We recently updated the disclaimer that it's now vacant, but still not available for guest use. Most assuredly, there is lake access, and we encourage guests to take the brisk 5 minute walk down and open the gate that leads to the beautiful lake, or let the kids collect shells that are everywhere! We want our guests to know what is and isn't part of the rental, so we don't receive a terribly unfair 1-star review for something we openly stated on the advertisement. Readers can always look back to a 2022 review named, "Good views" where the guest mentions it's in the ad. We really want our guests to be happy and enjoy their rental!

Good views

My husband and I rented this as a getaway to relax for a few days. The property is beautiful and views are amazing! A couple of small heads up I wished I knew before coming. 1) we couldn’t get the AC to cool the place and it was stuck at 78 the whole time. In Texas that’s pretty hot and we ended up leaving a day early. 2) I think the homeowner was there, which we didn’t realize but it *does* say in the print that it’s a possibility. Be sure you know about that! Luckily we weren’t planning on cooking much, kitchen items were sparse. Great location!! This is the place for views and I believe water access.

Front gate did not work. House had lots of dead bugs in windows, food stuck to cabinets/trash pull out, overall not very clean. Property has lots of things laying around in the yard and back of property. In need of thorough deep clean, exterior clean, better start up amenities. Marketed as luxury property but is not being maintained as such. Pool was beautiful but strange rules about not using area around the pool. Probably would not stay again at that price point and condition.

A/C NEVER WORKED!!!! (THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!)

THERE WERE TWO A/C UNITS AT THIS HOME. ONE WORKED AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO AND THE OTHER ONE LOCATED AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOME NEVER WORKED AT ALL!! OUR RESERVATION WAS FROM THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8th THROUGH SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11th (THREE NIGHTS). IT WAS VERY WARM OUTSIDE FOR DECEMBER SO SEVEN PEOPLE IN OUR GROUP SLEEPING IN ALL THE BEDROOMS AT THE LEFT OF THE HOUSE (THE SIDE OPPOSITE FROM THE KITCHEN) LITERALLY SWEATED ALL NIGHT LONG FOR THREE NIGHTS STRAIGHT! THIS IS/WAS SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! I WILL BE RESEARCHING HOW TO GET OUR MONEY BACK AS SOON AS I GET TO WORK TOMORROW!!!

Had you contacted us, we would have quickly assisted you with troubleshooting the AC and or sent a team member to address your concerns if needed. We understand that you must review the property honestly and we encourage that. We would ask nothing less from you or any other guest.

Family Reunion

The house is lovely and designed to give everyone time together and independently. It boasts great views from all the large picture windows in the living area and the 2 master bedrooms. The balcony is also a great place to enjoy the outdoors and keep an eye on all the boating activity on the lake. This is what we considered a primo VRBO house as reflected in the beautiful property and higher rental price. The number of bedrooms, access to the lake and spacious living areas, in and out, make the house very appealing. The house does not have a pool or offer guests olawn chairs and games for inside & out (1 deck of cards?). This just misses the mark though when you consider the lack of personal touches that make guests feel they are getting the very best value and appreciation for their stay. Here are some ideas from stays we have enjoyed in other top properties that would make the place memorable. Guest bottles of chilled water in the fridge - 1 per guest per night. Coffee filters (we used paper towels used until someone could make a store run), creamers and even hotel sized coffee and tea, hand towels and bath towels could be available in laundry room or bathrooms. Dish towels and oven hot pads (we used bath washcloths and hand towels for removing hot dishes and drying dishes) are needed in the kitchen, along with a better assortment of cooking pots & pans (some things are old and not in the best shape). 1 set of pots & pans and 1 set of cookie/cooking sheets would make the kitchen more efficient. Remove the old, well worn items. Individual sized bottles of body wash, hair shampoo & conditioner and body lotion would be more gracious than the family sized bottles offered. This is probably a bit picky but small things make individuals feel special. The property will gain customers and they will enjoy themselves more if they feel valued. So would we come back? Probably, but we would pack to bring the added items to make our stay memorable for the right reasons.

We’re so pleased this guest found the home to be as advertised. We do ask those booking to view the amenities in the listing, as many of the items suggested in this review would’ve been listed as part of the rental in that section. We don’t want guests disappointed expecting something we don’t actually advertise.

Nice property with great views but sparsely appointed

It's a beautiful, modern house with great spaces and views but we won't be back because of the following: A huge bank of windows faces northwest and when the sun is coming down, the living room is way too bright and way too hot. It's unimaginable to not have window shades. The property managers leave the AC on 78. We turned it down upon arrival and it did not get cool until the next morning. The appliances are new with the exception of the dishwasher, which was just plain gross. It would not get the dishes clean with the powder provided. My husband actually cleaned with vinegar and we left some liquid detergent for the next guests but even then the dishes came out dingy. The kitchen itself was the opposite of being "well-stocked." We had to buy sugar, vegetable oil, etc. The pots/pans/utensils were cheap and flimsy. No potholders. Only 5 spoons in the drawer and we were a group of 6. Having laundry was nice but no laundry basket. No throw blankets. Left sliding door does not lock. Flooring is cheap laminate. It's a shame that these things haven't been addressed. It's like the builder ran out of money or something and had to go cheapo at the end of the project. Who knows.

Beautiful and clean with amazing view

Beautiful and new and sparkling clean. My only suggestion would be to stock the kitchen a bit more. It may be because it is fairly new but there were very few pots and pans- we cooked breakfast for 8 with one frying pan. Other than that, the place was awesome. Very comfortable beds and bedding, spacious and clean. I would recommend a stay here for sure.
