Aloha! We are Julie and Randy and welcome to our home! We want you to enjoy the fantastic ocean views and luxury of our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo in Wailea Elua Village - a gated, 24-acre, oceanfront community on beautiful Ulua Beach in Maui.

Please note, due to a change in the Maui County Fire Code, individual lanai BBQs are no longer allowed at Elua Village. However, community BBQs are available at the two pool areas, as well as other locations throughout the property.

In October 2019, we completed a 6-month, top-to-bottom, remodel of our condo! All the windows and sliding lanai doors were replaced, and we even added another sliding door in the living room to expand the ocean view! All the flooring was replaced with beautiful porcelain plank tile (inside as well as out on the lanai). Both shower enclosures were also renovated with the porcelain tile. We basically took the condo "down to the studs", rebuilt it, and the result is amazing! Please check out all the updated photos of the "new" Elua 701. Our condo is now even more beautiful than our existing 160, five-star Traveler Reviews indicate!

You should also know that our listing is one of the few truly “by owner” Wailea Elua Village properties on VRBO and HomeAway. Believe it or not 85% of the Elua Village listings on these sites are managed and operated by vacation rental management companies on Maui, where a guest will have no interaction with the actual owner of the condo. In contrast, Julie and I personally handle and manage every single VRBO and HomeAway inquiry and booking for Elua 701. If you book our condo, or send an email to ask a question, you will interact directly with us, not a management company. After all, isn’t VRBO supposed to be Vacation Rental “BY OWNER”?

Our home (Elua 701) is perfectly situated in the center of the Wailea Elua Village property. We are only 150 yards from Ulua beach -- just a 90 second walk to the sand and the world famous 2-mile Wailea Beach Walk that connects all the beachfront resorts along the stunning South Maui shoreline. Our condo is centrally located to the upper pool and Jacuzzi area, tennis court and putting green, as well as the newly remodeled and absolutely beautiful lower pool and pavilion area (which is right next to the beach). Additionally, since our condo is in the middle of the village we are far away from all the road noise of Wailea Alanui Drive which runs along the back of the property. Thus, whether you are relaxing inside our home or outside on the large lanai all you can hear is the surf, the birds, and the breeze in the palms.

From the moment you walk in the door of Elua 701, you will feel at home in our remodeled condo. You will see the quality touches from the granite counter tops to the cool tile flooring. The open floor plan of the main living area includes the well-stocked gourmet kitchen, the dining area with a bar and chilled wine locker, the expansive living room with an additional sitting area, and an entertainment center with a 58-inch Samsung Smart 4K UHD television and a Sonos soundbar system system -- all with a fantastic ocean view.

The lanai off of the living room is huge, adding over 400 square feet of outdoor space to the already spacious 1260 square feet interior area of our condo. This outdoor space is partially covered so there is always sun or shade available. The lanai also provides two lounges, and a comfortable outdoor dining area for six people. Additionally, there is an intimate bar-height table for two that is truly a special place for morning coffee and evening drinks at sunset.

The Master Suite features a new extra-large 'California King' bed, high-thread-count sheets and bedding, 40-inch Vizio Smart 4K television, and over-sized spa bath towels. The large, ocean view, second bedroom also has new 'California King' with high-thread-count sheets, 40-inch Vizio Smart 4K television, and over-sized spa bath towels in the adjacent bathroom.

Since this is truly a 'by owner' property, you will receive owner-direct pricing. You will also find our home is lovingly cared for with the greatest attention to detail. Our guests also receive exceptional personal attention throughout the entire inquiry and booking process as well as during their stay in our home, which is something they might not receive from a property that is not directly managed and cared for by the owner. We are passionate about Elua 701, not only because it is our second home, but because it is our guest’s home during their vacation on Maui. The quality of your vacation experience in Elua 701 is very important to us, because we know that it is very important to you.

While Julie and I personally handle and manage all details of your booking, we also have the support of a guest services company on Maui that provides the cleaning and maintenance services required to maintain the high standards we insist upon. The support of this company is available to our guests during their stay in Elua 701 should there be a question or issue that Julie and I cannot immediately answer or resolve from our home in California.

Please note the Wailea Elua Village Homeowner’s Association requires a minimum stay of 5 nights for all vacation rentals, and we do not offer daily maid service.

Best Wailea stay ever..

Seasoned Maui lovers on our 7th visit. We've stayed all over the island from Upcountry to Kapalua to Hana and Wailea. While they all have their charms, Wailea is the perfect mixture of beautiful beaches, golf courses, and with facilities and restaurants all in easy walking distances. We love the area and this condo was even better than advertised. A spectacular property with all the comforts of home and then some. Beautiful views, well decorated and a great lanai for lounging and sunsets. Will be back.

Fantastic Stay in September 2022

Our stay exceeded our expectations. We have stayed at ~ 15 condos in Maui over the years and this unit was one of the nicest that we have stayed in. Everything was well stocked, the upgrades to the unit were very nice, and the location was fantastic. The owner was extremely helpful in providing suggestions for dinner, etc… and especially providing guidance regarding the COVID restrictions that were in place during our trip. We are looking forward to staying in this same unit in 2022.

Fantastic home in a terrific location

Elua Village is a beautiful, lush, property with it own beach, set amongst luxury hotels in Wilea What made our holiday complete was the home we were staying in. Randy and Julie have recently totally renovated and furnished their home. Everything ( the floors, blinds, appliances, furnishings) is of it the finest quality,. The home is spacious and a short walk through the beautiful grounds to the private beach. Towels, umbrella, beach chairs are all there. You will really enjoy staying here

Your condo was lovely! Impeccably clean, well stocked, so nicely decorated. It Had everything needed for a home away. Including small things like a water cooker and ziplock bags 👏and I Loved the electric blinds :) I found the binder and all specifics for the condo inside easily. … Oh and the gate keepers were all friendly:) Check out was smooth. Would definitely recommend to others.

Lovely unit at a great location

We spent 10 days in unit 701 in mid December. The unit is beautifully finished, furnished, and well stocked with kitchen ware, towels etc. The remodel that was done was clearly well thought out, with lighting and powered shades where needed. Communication with Randy was excellent and the whole process was all we could have hoped. Also, a shout out to the staff at Elua Village. They are all very friendly folks.

Great Stay in Paradise

We had a wonderful vacation in Maui and loved this Wailea Elua condo. Randy was so helpful with our booking. The condo location is so great, about 100 yards from the beach. We didn’t use our rental car for several days with many activities (beach, restaurants, watersports) walkable from the condo. The condo is beautiful. The floorplan and the furnishings are so lovely. The recent upgrades made the place feel brand new. The place is so well-equipped, with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. All items are new and working, which was a pleasant change from other VRBO properties we have visited. The views from the patio and the front room & bedroom are exquisite.

Maui Delight

We had the good fortune to spend the second half of our vacation at this property in the Wailea area. The landlord was responsive to the ultimate degree. He had restaurant suggestions, along with suggestions for local guides for things like going on a snorkeling trip. By the way, that turned out great, it was the great snorkeling experience of our lifetime and all thanks to Randy. The unit was well appointed, the project in which it is located looks like a four or five star resort, and the snorkeling right off the beach is excellent. We are from Florida and have been snorkeling on a number of occasions in the Florida Keys, and the snorkeling right off the beach at his unit, exceeded anything that we have done anywhere in the country. This comes with our highest recommendation.

Amazing condo in an amazing location!

We had an absolutely wonderful week in late March/early April in this beautiful condo - everything about it is top notch. It was definitely one of the best vacation rentals we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in quite a few. The condo was exactly as shown in the photos and video. The grounds of Wailea Elua Village are like a botanical garden and truly beautiful. The proximity to the beach and pool is great, and the mall is a short walk away. We ended up cooking a number of dinners at home and the kitchen was very well equipped, with all necessary tools, as well as a lot of glasses, cutlery, and dishes, so we didn't have to constantly run the dishwasher even if it wasn't full. We traveled with our 18 year-old son, but the condo would also be perfect for two couples because both bedrooms have king beds and both bathrooms are very nice. We really appreciated all of the helpful communication and information provided by Randy, the owner. He had very useful info about the requirements for travel to Hawaii as well as restaurants and activities. It really made for a stress-free experience. I'm hoping we come back for another stay!

Great Choice On Maui!

My wife and I just spent a wonderful week on Maui enjoying the Elua #701 condo. The location couldn't have been better. Just a short walk to the beach and pool area. A number of fine restaurants within walking distance. I personally feel that the Elua Village is the best place to stay on Maui. And I've stayed at several area hotels prior to this visit. And the Smith condo #701 was a pleasure to stay in. Very clean and neat. Wonderful outside deck to enjoy the views of the sea. Quite spacious both in and out. Maui on spring break week was super busy, but it didn't feel like it staying here. The Smiths also were very helpful with restaurant and activity suggestions that all proved right on. One of the best, most relaxing vacations we have enjoyed in years...without doing a whole lot! Couldn't recommend this unit or it's owners any higher. The unit is in fine shape (and is apparently undergoing a remodel this summer!). My wife and I like to stay in nice places when we travel. This was certainly one of the best we have enjoyed. In fact we just booked it again for next year!

I am a convert to condos!

We loved the great care that the owners have taken in decorating this home with such special items. We cooked a few times for dinner and ate breakfast on the lanai every morning. The kitchen is fabulous and they have thought of everything that a cook needs. The beds are also very comfortable, and it is such a quiet, peaceful location. The closets are also roomy and thoughtfully laid out and the bathrooms are well designed. The main pool is perfectly located by the beach, and I snorkeled at the beach almost every morning. Lots of turtles! We also snorkeled at Ahihi Nature Preserve and that was special. The people volunteering there were great. The hidden gem is definitely the private overlook down the path from the condo and we spent almost every evening there watching the sunset. Check in was very easy and clear. The crew who run the condo are just first rate all the way around. We've been going to Maui since 2000 and this was our first time to rent a condo. Our last two trips we stayed in Wailea but at hotels including the Hotel Wailea, the Four Seasons and the Andaz. Frankly, you get so much more bang for your buck at your wonderful condo. And you have laundry facilities handy! I visited Iao Valley State Monument for the first time and that was neat and a nice drive. On the way back, we stopped at the Maui Plantation, which was unexpectedly delightful. We ate at Hali'imaile General Store three times -- it's my favorite place to eat in Maui!

The Fabulous Elua 701

Our stay was fantastic. We stayed from 09Sep-28Sep2022. The unit is perfectly located in the village to access not only the ocean path and beach but also all of the great amenities in the Elua Village. You can walk to the Island Gourmet and Akamai Coffee. The Condo was incredibly elegant but comfortable and we felt so at home. I would absolutely recommend to anyone. We of course enjoyed the lanai every morning and evening. Not only is the view fabulous but you can hear and see the ocean waves breaking on the beach. We cooked dinner almost every night and the kitchen provided all top of the line items needed as if we were in our own home. The check-in was seamless. The parking is perfect as the spaces are shaded by beautiful Bougainvillea vines covering the parking structure. I am so happy we scheduled 2 condo cleanings during our stay. Not only did I feel like we were caring for this home but eliminated one less worry to ensure we completely enjoyed our stay. There are instruction cards located throughout the space which were perfect. We all appreciated the guidance in ensuring we were safely operating all of the high end mechanics in the condo correctly. And of course, Randy and Julie are the Best Hosts in my book. Knowing that I could communicate easily with Randy was an absolute plus. Also, remember to arrange a late checkout with Randy. Home away from home! Great amenities both with the property and surrounding area / neighborhood. Property was well equipped - owners were quite thoughtful to ensure all potential needs were met. Randy and Julie were proactive and communicative ….overall process was seamless and contributed to a restful and memorable vacation!

Wow! Amazing host. Amazing condo.

I was super impressed with every aspect of this stay. Randy was easy to communicate with and always prompt to respond. You can really tell he's poured his heart and soul into this home. The finishes are all of the highest quality and they have somehow thought of everything you might need and supplied it here so that you can focus on enjoying your vacation. There are easy to follow instructions/labels posted throughout the condo. The casually elegant decor was both comfortable and beautiful. I can see why this unit is booked up so far in advance. I would not hesitate to book with Randy again!

Incredible Stay

Randy and Julie’s property is amazing! The location was great and the condo included all amenities needed for an incredible stay. The view from the condo was breathtaking it was only a 3 minute walk to the beach. The grounds are immaculate and gorgeous. Their communication was great and were extremely responsive. We will most certainly be back! Thanks Randy and Julie!

We were married on the beach in Maui, in a wonderful little ceremony attended by just ourselves and our parents. That was back in 1990 and over the years we have absolutely fallen in love with Maui, especially the south (Kihei/Wailea) side. While we are currently still 'tied to our jobs' on the mainland, our plan is to 'someday' retire to Maui. In the meantime, we would love to share our home with you.

Why they chose this property

We chose the Wailea Elua Village for many reasons. Elua is a gated, oceanfront complex situated on a gorgeous, white sand beach called Ulua Beach. Additionally, the grounds at Elua are absolutely spectacular with orchids growing on almost every tree. Also, we love SCUBA diving, and Elua Village is less than 1-1/2 miles from the Kihei Boat Ramp where all the dive and snorkle boats depart for Molokini Crater and all the other great South Maui dive sites! Finally... that beach we were married on... was Ulua!!

What makes this property unique

The location of our unit (#701) in the Elua Village is perfect! It is marked by the green pin on the map to the right. Click on the 'satellite' button and then zoom in to see our exact location in the village. We are centrally located, less than 150 yards from the sand of Ulua Beach, as well as the newly remodeled main pool and pavilion area for the Elua Village complex. We are even closer to the mid-village pool and jacuzzi area (which is hardly ever crowded because everyone goes to the new pool/pavilion that is on the beach!) Our location in the village very quiet because we are far away from the road noise of Wailea Alanui Road at the back of the complex. Finally, we have a wonderful ocean view from our huge lanai (which is over 500 square feet!)
