The storage in bedroom no closet to use The housecleaning could be better base board mldg were very dirtyHad some roaches Grill rusted thur insideBoat dock needed cleaning which i did, bird dropping were very bad(nasty)But all good ,would recommend, had a good weekThank You
We really enjoyed our time at your home! The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. Cozy kitchen with everything needed. For those bringing boats it was a quick 15 minute run from the Surf City boat ramp. The water is gorgeous and clear with great sandbar hangouts within 30 minutes. Docked and ate at JM's on the Water for a delicious sunset dinner. Spacious parking for our 24' boat trailer and the dock and quick access to the waterway was perfect- really loved the location. Really cute downstairs area- the kids were in heaven! Just to note, the downstairs is separate from the upstairs with no interior access so maybe not preferable for really young ones. Overall just a great place and the owners were very kind and responsive. They clearly have invested a lot of love into this place. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review — it truly made our day! We’re so glad you and your group felt right at home and had such a memorable stay. It sounds like you made the most of everything the area has to offer — from the sandbars and gorgeous water to dinner at JM’s on the Water (one of our favorites too!). We love hearing that the dock and waterway access worked out perfectly for your boat, and that the little ones had their own slice of paradise downstairs! 🐚 We appreciate you noting the separate entrances so future guests can plan accordingly — that’s so thoughtful. We’ve truly poured our hearts into this place, and knowing guests enjoy it as much as we do means everything. We hope to welcome you back for another beautiful trip soon! 🌊
This was a great house for the whole family. The kids swam and kayaked everyday. The beach is close enough to walk or take one of the bikes there.

Thank you so much for your review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay!
Comfortable beach home with the best stocked kitchen of any that I have ever rented. Large outdoor areas for lounging, kayaking or playing the nice games that they had available.
Loved having a dock and water access right outside the back door. My husband was able to fish anytime he wanted to. The house was well stocked. Our dog loved walking around in the marshy grass. The golf cart made it easy to get around and go to the beach. Will definitely stay again.
This home has the perfect location. The outdoor space is unmatched. Breathtaking views of the canal, covered deck area with seating, boat dock, spacious yard with hammock, cornhole boards, kayaks. The home is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The homeowners were very quick to answer any questions. Wonderful stay!
This property is perfectly located with a private dock on the canal but also a short distance from the beach and fishing pier. And it was well equipped with everything we needed. Plus, the bed in the primary bedroom is soooo comfortable! Thank you for a lovely mini-spring break!

First VRBO experience in such a lovely home! In walking distance to beach. Beautiful waterfront view right on canal. Exceptionally clean and comfortable with all the comforts of home. Owner is very responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend for others looking for a relaxing getaway!
Pelican Point lived up to its name. We had a great time sitting on the dock and watching the wildlife. Herons, gulls, kingfishers, pelicans and dolphins all visited the canal and marsh behind the house. The sunsets were amazing as well. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable visit from the kitchen to the bedrooms and living space. We spent the majority of our time outside on the deck in the Feb/March sun.
Very pleased with this property. Clean, spacious and absolutely perfect. Literally the only thing I would change is that there is no interior access from downstairs. Kids stayed downstairs and had to come outside to come upstairs which wouldnt be terrible but it stormed several times and kids felt a bit isolated since they had to come out in the weather to get upstairs. Otherwise the place was an absolute dream.
This is our second fall at Pelican Point as it won the grandchildren's vote. Despite a tropical depression, king tides and high winds, our family still had a great time. The space allowed us to spread out and we had board games and movie marathon during the worst of the weather. Other times it was the beach and fishing on the dock. The covered dock acts like a third living space even with a light rain. Wildlife sightings were thrilling and kayaks were fun on the first day. Mindy is a gracious and helpful host. Abundant towels plus two laundry areas made it easy to keep up with wet things after experiencing a very windy and wet beach. The kitchen is well equipped and there are two refrigerators for a crowd to use. This is a quiet canal street where bikes were safely used, a great water views and a yard for children to play in. Despite the sense of seclusion, shopping, restaurants/coffeeshops and the beach access is very close.

Dear Diane,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing Pelican Point for your family’s fall getaway again! We’re thrilled to hear that the grandchildren voted for us and that everyone still had a great time despite the challenging weather. It’s fantastic to know that the new improvements to the space including board games and extra living area/space and the extra fridge and laundry facilities were beneficial to your group and improved your stay. The covered dock is definitely a plus even in the rain to continue to enjoy the outdoors. Nothing more peaceful than sitting in the hammock swing, sipping coffee under a gentle rain and watching the dolphins swim by!
We’re delighted you enjoyed the wildlife sightings, kayaking, fishing, and the beach.
We truly appreciate your kind words and are so glad we could help make your stay memorable, rain or shine! We’d love to welcome you and your family back for a third fall at Pelican Point—hopefully with calmer weather next time!
Warm regards,
Mindy
The most well-stocked place we’ve ever stayed! Great location to beach and restaurants but not too busy. Took the bikes to dinner and the beach, fished off the dock, enjoyed the sunset, and all the amenities like all the coffee making options!. Master bed is super cozy. Others are a bit firm for us but nothing an extra blanket can’t fix. Or bring a mattress topper. Our 5 year old loved having her own room and playing in a blow up pool on the dock! Would definitely love to come back.
5-Star Stay! Beautiful Place with Room for Improvement on AmenitiesWe had an absolutely wonderful and memorable stay for Thanksgiving! This property is truly beautiful, the setting is amazing, and we had a fantastic 5-star experience overall. We definitely hope to return, possibly this summer! The location is perfect for a family getaway, and we greatly enjoyed having access to the grill and spending time in the area. The place was spacious and very comfortable for our group. However, we did notice a few maintenance issues that need attention to ensure a perfect stay for future guests:Watercraft: We were able to use the jon boat briefly (we named it the "Titanic" due to a significant water leak!), and only one kayak was safe to use; the other water toys need inspection.Recreation: The bikes were very rusted (though workable), and a working air pump is needed. We also found the gaming arcade needing some attention, and the hockey table was missing a puck.Pests: There was an ant issue on the bunk beds (specifically the middle one closest to the room), which should be addressed by pest control.Kitchen: It would have been helpful to have the correct grill tools available for use.Despite these minor issues, we had a magnificent time and highly recommend this place. With a little maintenance on the amenities, it would be absolutely perfect! Thank you for a great vacation!
