Welcome to Entelechy Ranch at Mt. Madonna! "Entelechy" is the realization of potential, and here on Summit Rd, you'll find a private sanctuary that cleanses, revives, and restores your soul. Push the reset button, clean your inner cache, and fall into the majesty only a real California Redwood Forest can provide.

Located on five acres in the private community of Mt. Madonna directly between the cities of Watsonville and Gilroy, not too far from Santa Cruz and Monterey, this private resort offers a natural experience like none other.

The home offers a spacious open layout with three bedrooms, two full baths, a large kitchen, and a cozy living area.

Immediately outside is a hot tub, an in-ground pool & cabana, and a s'more-perfect firepit and regulation-sized horseshoe throwing area.

You can stroll among the Redwood glades and open pastures, play frisbee golf or archery, and enjoy other outdoor activities.

The property is within a mile of the Mt. Madonna Yoga Retreat Center, where you can grab a coffee, visit an authentic Hindu temple, or just take in the sweeping horizon ocean views. The Vietnamese Kim Son Monastery has huge statues and beautiful grounds a bit farther down the road.

A mile in the other direction is a horse ranch where you can take lessons or rent horses to ride through Madonna County Park (also gorgeous for hiking).

Living Room

The sun-drenched living room stuns with dominant views of the pool and the surrounding Redwood Forest. The double-high ceiling, sunroof, and open floor plan offer lots of light and a cozy place to relax. Here, you will find seating for 6 in a luxurious microfiber sofa set where 5 of the six seats are recliners. The living room also features a pellet stove (pellets provided) for snuggling in front of on a fog-drenched morning or for enjoying a movie night after a long day.

A mobile 55” ROKU television will keep you entertained or can be rolled out of the way. If you prefer fun without electronics, the cabinet has an extensive inventory of analog board games like Scrabble, Life, Connect 4, Tic Tac Toe, Jenga, Cards Against Humanity, and many more. A classic Victrola radio/record player that can accept all audio formats (including Bluetooth connectivity) and will remind you of (or teach you about) classic entertainment from yesteryear. Both end tables in this room conceal hidden power strips to charge your devices incognito.

Kitchen / Dining

The kitchen / dining room has lots of usable counter space and an “in the round” design layout, so you and your guests can cook up something amazing together. Appliances include a microwave, professional convection oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, 4 burner gas range, dishwasher, and a full-size refrigerator/freezer. Cooking utensils including pots, pans, baking sheets, glass bowls, spoons, spatulas, tongs etc. are provided. And of course, coffee is served thanks to a Krups coffee maker with an attached cappuccino maker. Assorted K-Cups are provided as well as a coffee bean grinder and a reusable K-Cup filter. A walk-in pantry provides ample space for all of your local culinary discoveries.

The dining area, with its luxurious “live-edge” dining table, can seat up to 8 people (with another 2 on barstools) and allows for simple service just steps away from the kitchen. The dining area ties the whole floor together, serving as a nexus for conversation throughout the living, kitchen, and dining rooms. You can enjoy tap water fresh from the well, or hot and cold bottled water from the dispenser in the kitchen.

Downstairs Bedroom

The first-floor bedroom has two large bunk-style beds (one is a twin over full and the other is full over full) providing sleeping accommodations for 4 or 7 guests depending on your sleeping arrangements.
Sit, relax, and gaze out the window at the trees on a hyper-comfortable lounger - complete with an ottoman. Soft-walled dressers are available, as well as 2 huge mirrored closets to complete the room.

First Floor Bathroom

The first-floor bathroom houses a glass walk-in shower, mirrored vanity, and plenty of towels to dry off after a rigorous visit to the hot tub.

Second Floor Bedroom

The second-floor bedroom (aka The Tree House) sits high up in the tree canopy and has 1 twin-over-full bunk bed (sleeps 2 or 3) and one twin-sized bed by itself (sleeps 1). A large mirrored closet creates the illusion of being surrounded by Redwoods. This room has a separately controlled in-floor heater for those looking for a “different” level of climate control from the rest of the house.

Master Bedroom

The Master Bedroom provides the ultimate in California luxury living with its huge layout -- complete with a queen-sized bed, full-sized dresser, side tables, a mobile device charging table, an office desk, a 50” ROKU tv, a leather lounger, and a convertible futon couch. The master bathroom has a massive walk-in shower, his and hers vanity sinks, and a pristine claw foot tub with a sweeping view directly into the Redwood forest. A separately controlled heater in the master bathroom allows for an even more luxurious experience. The gigantic walk-in closet provides more than enough room for your luggage and houses a spare twin bed and a portable crib/baby bassinet.

Laundry Room

A full-size washer and dryer are available in the laundry room, just off the kitchen. Here you will find spare towels, washcloths, bedclothes (in case you need any extras), and a rack of light robes for your convenience in going out to the hot tub. The tall cabinet to the left contains a broom, a mop, and a swiffer-type mop for any accidental spills.

A fun extra -- A laundry chute in the master bedroom closet can be used to drop clothes down into the laundry room.

In-ground Pool

The pool is a kidney bean shape with a large shallow end (<3 feet) and a smaller deep end that goes to about 10 feet deep. There is a diving board, but please use extreme caution while diving. A safety buoy and rescue hook hang directly behind the diving board just in case.

NOTE: Please check with us about the likely pool temperature during your stay. It's heated by solar energy, so the temperature varies tremendously depending on the weather. There's very little sun many days in the winter, so the solar doesn't work much at all and the pool is likely to be too cold for swimming.

Hot Tub

There is a stand-alone hot tub nestled in the trees behind the house overlooking the pasture. It sits up on a covered platform deck and has seating for 4. It's perfect for a soothing soak - especially at night with beautiful lighting. It also has a weatherized sound system to serve up some tunes for your therapeutic session. There is a small hot shower and hose to rinse off before you soak. The hot tub is cleaned and treated before each rental for the health and safety of our guests.)

Outdoor Activities

The property has over 5 acres of Redwood forest and pasture lands for you to explore and relax. A 3-hole frisbee golf course spans the sun-drenched pasture through Redwood tree-filled glades. Frisbee golf disks are provided (you'll find them on the rack on the fence adjacent to the pasture entrance). Last but not least, we offer a variable skill archery course. We have an introductory level bow and arrow set (both left and right-handed) hanging on the pasture fence by the Archery firing position. Use of the archery course requires basic skills and a safety explanation offered by our on-site Caretaker.

Please Note: The Caretaker (who is available for major repairs or emergencies) lives on the lower quarter of the property, about 250 feet from the main house. That area is private and sectioned off, so please be respectful.
