Loved it so much...

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to write a bad review just so we could have it all to ourselves! But our conscience wouldn't let us. We so enjoyed this stay, it was perfect for us. Very private, very comfortable. The hot tub was a highlight, the beds were inviting, the fireplace was another highlight on the couple of cold nights we had while there. We had a great time kayaking around the cove, and just enjoying the gorgeous view from the porch and hot tub. Although it was just the two of us, we saw just how great it would be for a family, or families, to get away from it all and keep the kids entertained with the sand box and TVs in 3 rooms. We will definitely return again and again!

Beautiful, quiet spot

  • 5 of 5

What a great spot for relaxing at the lake! While the house is older (as others have commented), this does nothing to take away from the charm and coziness - it feels like home. The full-length screened-in porch is truly incredible, with great views and a fabulous breeze (at least in October when I was there!). The living space is generous and there's plenty of room for a small group. There are spaces enough for 11, but I could see that getting a little tight - for everyone else though the house is a perfect size. It's secluded and quiet. Access to the water has to be from the dock as there's no real "beach" to use so keep that in mind, but it's really not a problem. I, and my dog, had a wonderful time and would definitely go back. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy getaway with great views this is the place.

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

This house has an excellent location on a very quiet cove with only one neighboring dock. With 2 wooded acres and a private lane we never saw neighbors. The kids loved the sandbox area. We spent a lot of time fishing from the dock (lots of small fish and several catfish). We took the 2 person kayak out a few times (along with our daughter's kid kayak and an inflatable boat we brought) and had a lot of fun. Dock was great for swimming with a nice ladder and deep water (but still no diving for safety). The hot tub was available but we didn't use it. I spent a lot of time on the screened porch reading in the porch swing. The outside of this place is wonderful.

The inside is dated, and there was a little more wear than I expected from the pictures. There were signs of water leaks in several places on the ceiling. We had plenty of room for our family of four. We actually ended up putting one child in the king bed because the mattress/bed made loud noises every time my husband or I turned over the first night, but she was fine by herself. We switched to the queen bed and slept better the rest of the time. Our younger child enjoyed the bunk beds.

If you don't feel like cooking, head into Lagrange and get some great fish at Rogers Bbq and Catfish, or lunch at Gus' Diner (gyro platter was excellent). The square and Lafayette fountain were really nice too.

Overall, we had a pleasant week here and spent most of our time outdoors. Thanks for sharing your lake house with us.
