Great location!

  • 4 of 5

This house has an excellent location on a very quiet cove with only one neighboring dock. With 2 wooded acres and a private lane we never saw neighbors. The kids loved the sandbox area. We spent a lot of time fishing from the dock (lots of small fish and several catfish). We took the 2 person kayak out a few times (along with our daughter's kid kayak and an inflatable boat we brought) and had a lot of fun. Dock was great for swimming with a nice ladder and deep water (but still no diving for safety). The hot tub was available but we didn't use it. I spent a lot of time on the screened porch reading in the porch swing. The outside of this place is wonderful.

The inside is dated, and there was a little more wear than I expected from the pictures. There were signs of water leaks in several places on the ceiling. We had plenty of room for our family of four. We actually ended up putting one child in the king bed because the mattress/bed made loud noises every time my husband or I turned over the first night, but she was fine by herself. We switched to the queen bed and slept better the rest of the time. Our younger child enjoyed the bunk beds.

If you don't feel like cooking, head into Lagrange and get some great fish at Rogers Bbq and Catfish, or lunch at Gus' Diner (gyro platter was excellent). The square and Lafayette fountain were really nice too.

Overall, we had a pleasant week here and spent most of our time outdoors. Thanks for sharing your lake house with us.

Peaceful!

  • 4 of 5

This property is exactly how it is described. We enjoyed a week of fun in the sun with extended family (July 22-29). Having access to the lake (warm as bath water) was very important as the temperature rose above 100 degrees. We appreciated the owners allowing our small dog to join us. Chrissy was very attentive to any questions we had prior to/during our stay. Our refund was returned without delay.

Although the property does sleep 11, our group consisted of 11 adults and older teens, which did make it rather crowded; however, the weather cooperated and we were able to spend a good deal of time outside.

Beautiful, Quiet, very nice trip

  • 4 of 5

We had an awesome time there. It's a nice older house but it didn't have any of the funky smells of an older house. It could have been just a little cleaner. The floors needed mopping. The bed in the master bedroom makes a lot of noise. But other than that it was great. I would recommend it to friends.

Comfortable, Relaxing, Quiet

  • 5 of 5

Property and owner were great! We spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. From booking to checkout the process was painless. I would highly recommend staying here as it is relaxing and comfortable, virtually all you need (other than food and drink) is provided and it's situated in a quiet cove away from it all.

Nice home with great back porch on a quiet cove. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. The dock was very convenient for my boat.
