This was a great place to stay and everyone enjoyed their time here. Lots of good hiking and good restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again!
This home was very clean and recently updated. The beds were comfortable, the back porch has a beautiful view, and check in was easy. Highly recommend.
We continue to stay at this property because it's awesome. The owner thinks of everything. I highlight recommend this place. Close to Martinsville and Clarence's Steak & Seafood Restaurant.
My husband and I had the perfect stay. Everything we needed was here. We were able to run a load of laundry easily and a load of dirty dishes. Everything you think you need, is here. Quaint location about 15 minutes out of town. Would 100% stay again if we are ever in the area.
Very quaint and nice older frame home nestled on a private and pretty piece of property. Loved the layout and every amenitie you would want was thought of and provided by host. Back covered porch is large and overlooks beautiful and sizable backyard. This home was VERY clean and smelled as such. Host was exceptional in all facets and genuinely desired our stay to be enjoyable and worry free. Would stay again without a second thought. This was the ultimate experience you desire when renting on VRBO.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
As I pulled into the driveway, a herd of deer were grazing in the expansive pasture surrounded by woods. The neighbors were not nearby, however, the morning walkers were friendly and welcoming.
The kitchen was well stocked for cooking needs and I cannot think of any reason to complain.
Sleeping through the night and waking to piece and quite. The hostess was very gracious and non intrusive. She communicated as is necessary and helpful as well.
My commute into work and grocery was 10 minutes.
Before I accept another job in Martinsville, I will be sure to check if the cabin is available.
Not to mention, cheaper than the Hampton
In town.
My family had a really nice time on the property. It was very peaceful as we saw some bunnies and a few deer. It is very quiet so that was nice. We will more then likely stay again in the future.

Everything was great, the property, the location to our worksite and our host.

We are originally from upstate NY and the hills and area here in Virgina was so.much like that.
Loved the area and seeing the deer in yard. Couldn't have been better.

Dan and family, thank you so much for staying with us! We love it, too. The rolling hills and the beauty of nature, plus all the great wildlife, makes it a beautiful and fun place to stay. Thank you for your kind review!
We had such a relaxing stay at this property - it's peaceful, quiet, we watched deer coming up in the clearing, relaxed on the large porch (we spent all day light on the porch). The kitchen has everything you need and it's very big. The beds were so comfy, and loved the black out curtains! We were happy to see the washer and dryer as we came from a 3 day stay at Hanging Rock State Park, so we had some laundry to do. I think the property is a lot of fun in the winter, when it's snowing, as the back yard has a fairly long slope that could be fun for sledding. We might have to try that! Kim, the host, was very accommodating and very quick with answering our questions. We absolutely loved it here!
Cozy country living barely outside the city. Very clean. Comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen. Kim was extremely responsive when I had questions. But the real draw was the back porch overlooking the HUGE backyard and woodlands! (And a large wooden porch swing.) It’s where we spent most of our time. We saw rabbits and deer, and heard wild turkeys in the woods.
It was our very own show! Would definitely stay here again.
Three moms thoroughly enjoyed themselves! The house had everything we needed and more. The yard was beautiful and we spent most of our time hanging out on the deck. Great place to stay and comfortable beds. Recommend floating Pigg River at Waid Park.

About the host
Hosted by Kim Cressell
I literally wrote the book on hosting ... it sounds far-fetched, but it's true. My book, "How to Rent Your Home or Space on Airbnb and VRBO," available on Amazon, is being widely lauded as a tool to help hosts everywhere host more professionally. I have been hosting on the major booking platforms for 20 years now. Guests are very, very important to me and my goal is to ensure you choose a VRBO rental every time, even over a hotel. Vacation rentals offer all the amenities of home and more, and are often cleaned and maintained even better than hotels.
My hosting and real estate career began with annual leased rentals in key cities, and then I switched to nightly, weekend and weekly rentals using available technology platforms. In 2017, I was a founding partner in purchasing and transforming a commercial property with three historically significant–and yet vacant–buildings into a profitable, successful hybrid rental concept consisting of a boutique inn (with rooms listed on the major booking platforms), a coffee shop, a wine bar, and a small bookstore. That business–called The Reserve ( now The Reserve Retreat)-- went on to earn many regional and local awards, and has been featured extensively in the news media. Kim continues to enjoy the hosting lifestyle along with her fiancé and two children, with properties on the Gulf of Mexico and in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
Kim founded her company, How to Rent Your Home or Space on Airbnb and VRBO LLC, in 2022. Online courses will begin in late summer 2022.
