About this property
Lil’ Kickback On Elk Creek (Eau Claire area)
Remote, tranquil, quiet and private getaway on 5.8 acres on the banks of the Elk Creek; only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities! This creek is known as a class 1 trout stream. Guests can enjoy fishing, sight seeing, canoeing and kayaking the Chippewa River or Elk Lake, biking, hiking, atv/utv and snowmobile trails nearby as well. Enter a world of peace and calm deep in the woods. This is a beautiful rustic cabin that has been beautifully restored.
Permit issued and inspected by Dunn County.
This cabin is perfect for those looking for a cozy, no frills, rustic cabin-camping experience in the woods of western Wisconsin. The historic Log Cabin sits on the banks of the Elk Creek and was built in the 1920s. It features handmade log construction, concrete in-floor heat, a stone gas fireplace, woodstove, and a handmade door. The cabin has one bedroom (queen), a sitting area in the loft (low ceiling), and a pull-out sofa sleeper couch for additional sleeping.
The cabin has a bathroom with a shower, quaint kitchen, one bedroom with a queen (new sealy posturepedic pillow top) size bed, a living room with a sofa sleeper, and enough room for an air bed (bring your own), and a small loft sitting area. It also has a wood heated porch overlooking the creek.
The kitchen includes a sink, oven/stove with four burners, microwave, fridge, griddle, toaster, and coffee maker. Dishes, pots, pans, eating and cooking utensils and a gas grill are provided. Dish soap and dishtowels are also provided, but dishes must be handwashed by our guests. Please note that we recommend our guests provide their own drinking water. The water is safe to drink but by preference we recommend you bring bottled water.
The bedroom is simple, but spacious and features a queen bed with a night stand, lamp and dresser.
The living room has a dining table with four chairs, couch, futon couch and chair (room for an air mattress-bring your own). Also a beautiful stone gas fireplace. The fireplace offers ambiance to the space and heats the cabin. Wood for the woodstove is located in the wood shed. A controllable thermostat allows guests to set the temperature of the cabin to their preference (there is a/c, however the shady location keeps the cabin cool in summer). There is also a small loft that is accessible by a ladder (reading nook). There is a television and a DVD player in the porch area and in the living room area. Free WiFi is now available. Chromecast is available on the television. There are board games located in the antique chest.
The cabin does have a steel roof and when there is rainfall, guests will hear the rain drops. Relaxing noise for most but...
There are two kayaks, many board games and yard games available for your use.

What a great getaway! Loved how they had a photo album of the renovation. They thought of everything to make it comfortable and very homey! Sun porch was our favorite spot.
Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was just as described and even cozier in person. We loved the turn table and the old albums! All the ambiance lighting was perfect.Sitting on the garden chairs overlooking the stream was so relaxing and lulled us into a wonderful state of mind amongst the natural surroundings. We hope to return for another peaceful long weekend!!
The cabin and property we amazing! Cabin was furnished with everything we needed for a long weekend with our two kids. They loved the loft and being able to walk down the path to fish in the creek. Would definitely stay here again!
Absolutely perfect stay. Clean, well stocked, great location, and as nice of a hose as you can ask for. Beautiful cabin, great views of the stream. Only sad thing was having to leave.
Gorgeous area and beautiful cabin. It was a hot weekend, but the AC kept the cabin cool. We spent an entire day sitting outside watching the river flow by, and we saw so many beautiful birds while we were there.
The cabin reatoration was so well done. Authentic but modern enough (e.g., turntable with a selection of vinyl), comfortable with great lighting options, a great firepit and lots of wood, and a beautiful setting on the creek. Used the charcaol grill for some steaks, and indoors the kitchen was well appointed. Peaceful get away from work and the city.
We had the most lovely stay at the Lil’ Kickback! The space was absolutely beautiful and so cozy. There were many activities to do, suited for all ages. The cabin was well positioned to downtown EC, making for easy journeys into town. We would definitely stay again!
Beautiful location and very well managed. Enjoyed our stay very much. It was very comfortable. You can see a lot of love was put into the cabin and surrounding property.
My wife and I were looking for a quiet, cozy place to get away for a couple days. This cabin is SO nice, and has a beautiful story behind it, left in book form by the owners. It’s private, comfortable, clean and close enough to town if you want a day away for sightseeing or a nice meal out. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
The hosts go above and beyond to exceed expectations. The little touches are really everything. Pictures cannot fully capture the beauty and awe this place holds within it. 10/10 WILL RETURN
The property is an authentic log cabin with all the modern conveniences. The beds were very comfortable, and the cabin was nicely decorated. We would definitely do it again!
We had a great stay here! The place had everything we needed. Clean and nicely decorated just as the pictures show - nothing out of place when you arrive. It's also a very private property and good for hanging out by the fire. Communication w/ the host was excellent. You won't regret booking this property!
This was an incredible property and charming cottage and exceeds the description listed. The host was very thorough in providing details and answering questions. Look forward to future visit.
