About this property

Custom Floating Cabin on Mississippi River backwater with a HOT TUB!

Enjoy our floating cabin, located on the backwaters of the Mississippi River! This luxurious cabin was just built and has everything you need for a fun or relaxing getaway. This cabin has a custom kitchen, 3 queen beds, 1 queen sofa sleeper, 1 bathroom, and a beautiful rooftop deck with a hot tub!
It is located at Millennium Marina, which often features live music in the Summer. With being on the water, you will often see wildlife.

This custom cabin is located DIRECTLY on the waters of the Mississippi River. It is parked at our marina and DOES NOT MOVE.

You will have to walk on a dock to get to the cabin. Things are a little different than a typical "home", but its super fun! The roof may NOT be accessible at all times of the year (like when it is super cold, raining, or snowing). If there is ANY snow at all, we ask you be extra careful because it is a rubber roof. The rooftop area has a hot tub and outdoor furniture.
This rental is close to the restaurant and is connected to docks that customers park at.
NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ALLOWED AT THIS TIME.
We provide a coffee maker, toaster, stove, oven, and other kitchen items.

We also have boat slips available by the night or by the week. One uncovered slip is provided with your rental. PLEASE NOTE: we have no control of the river levels. This means that sometimes swimming is not possible because the water will be so low. Also, sometimes you cannot get your boat into our marina due to low water. If you plan on bringing a boat, please ask us if the water is deep enough. If you would like more details on how to check the river level, please message us.
Kayak rentals available from the restaurant on property, when they are in season. You get one free hour kayak rental for all registered guests (you can always ask about your specific time if interested in kayaks). Please ask about current restaurant hours if this amenity is important for you.

We have quiet time in the marina, and that starts at 10:00. We want everyone to enjoy the space and the water, so please be respectful of this time.

PLEASE NOTE- We are located on the Mississippi and WE DO FLOOD. We might have to cancel the reservation if flooding is in the forecast. The cabin will stay in the water year round! SWIMMING NOT ADVISED unless you understand the river and swim at your own risk. YES there will be bugs in the warm months! This cabin is DIRECTLY on the water. While we do our best to deep clean, there is no way to prevent the bugs outside.

2 ski resorts are only a short drive away!

Just please note that this rental is DIRECTLY on water. Not recommended for very small children or unsupervised children.

This cabin does NOT move.

ALSO NOTE- With the boat being directly on the water, there are sometimes bugs. Not inside the boat, but yes you WILL see them outside. We do clean it thoroughly, but they pop up.

Quiet time is 10 PM. Please respect the neighbors.

Gals Getaway

Great location right on the river. Quick drive to check out the shops and brewpub in Galena, spent most of our time up top on the deck and in the hot tub while being serenaded by the entertainment at the pub next door. Wonderful place to stay. Great time with great friends.

This place is a hidden gem. Surprisingly spacious, lovely decor, and convenient to everything. Fell asleep nightly to the sound of water lapping at the dock and woke up to the gorgeous sunrise.

We really enjoyed this floating cabin! The decor inside and scenery outside was perfect. It was so peaceful it felt like you were hours away from town but in reality, it is such a short and easy drive into downtown East Dubuque IL. So much to do in the area. The hottub was a very nice was to end a chilly day.

Gorgeous place for a relaxing staycation

We stayed here 3/15-3/17 (4 adults, 1 child) and had an amazing time-we can’t say enough great things about the rental itself as well as the host. The unit itself is stunning and we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and snacks when we arrived. The host, Samantha, was incredibly responsive and checked in from time to time to make sure we were well taken care of. We are local to the area and will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Floating gem!

Our daughter and two granddaughters joined us for a weekend getaway in Dubuque. The houseboat was in an ideal location for quick and easy access to all the Dubuque area attractions. We loved the layout of the accommodations. It is beautifully decorated and so comfortable! Everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable was available. The hosts were very responsive to our messages and requests. It made for a memorable weekend with our family!

It was the highlight of everyone year.

My friends and I were celebrating my fiance and I getting engaged. Everyone was beyond impressed with the place. It truly is a gem. Our group has been doing a girls weekend for several years now and this was our first VRBO and stay in Dubuque. Hands down the best so far!!! The house boat was decorated like something from a magazine, there was plenty of room and more for the 4 of us!!! Unique and convenient

We do a reunion every year at a cabin with college friends. This year we picked Dubuque and happen to come across this listing. It did not disappoint! Sam was extremely helpful and attentive. The boat was clean and large enough to fit l of us girls and our stuff! We loved that the restaurant was so close and ended up eating there every day, the food was amazing! Definately check out their drinks and cheese curds. We will be back for sure!

Reunion with Friends

Location was perfect driving from Wisconsin meeting up with friends from Iowa. We had an amazing stay at Dubuque in our floating cabin. Starting with the hospitality of owner, staff everyone we came in contact with was really friendly. From the moment we walked in to the clean well decorated cabin we felt welcome & comfortable. Many activities to do in the area. We enjoyed kayaking right outside our cabin door. Delicious food and entertainment at the Millennium bar and Marina. It is only a short walk up the dock from cabin. We all agreed it would be a beautiful place to revisit in the fall to see all the leaves changing colors.

As if HGTV and Nature had a baby

The owners have done a magnificent job of creating this little floating house. Excellent decor, probably the best-equipped kitchen of anywhere we've stayed, wonderful windows, comfortable beds, and the rooftop grill/dining/hot tub are perfect. We stayed when the marina was closed and there were very few people around. It was incredibly quiet (which might not be the case on a weekend) and we were able to witness amazing wildlife and natural beauty. I kayaked early in the morning in the calm channel and saw eagles, beavers, and so much more. I was not expecting that and it totally made the trip. The owner was very responsive, friendly, helpful, and generous.

Cozy Winter Weekend Getaway

Stayed here with a group of 8 people for a weekend in December. The floating house was beautifully decorated and super cozy. It was stocked with so many essentials making it perfect for a weekend filled with games, movies, baking, and relaxation. The best part was the hot tub on the roof which was large enough for the group and had a great view of snowfall on the river. The house is just a short drive from the town square shops in Galena which made for a fun day out. Definitely recommend the floating house if you are looking for a unique place to relax and unwind!

Fabulous retreat

We loved our floating cabin adventure! 3 bedrooms plus a daybed meant lots of space. Relaxing in the rooftop hot tub was a real highlight - we saw eagles, pelicans, fish jumping in the river. The bar next door was great too - best cheese curds ever, and our server both days (Megan) was a delight. Thank you for greeting us personally and for the truly unique and wonderful stay. Great location, too - between Galena and Dubuque. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Thank you.
