Fun lake, Nice house

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Lake Gaston. The house is clean and comfortable. Our bed was great. What fun to be able to walk down the yard, unhook the boat, and float away. We also enjoyed swimming off the dock. We boated to three of the great restaurants that were on the lake. On the way back to the house we saw the most beautiful sunsets.

There were two draw backs to this property. The first was that you have to take your full trash bags to a dumpster several miles away. There is no place to store a full trash bag outside the house. The second is that in order to get to the main lake (where the restaurants are, and where you put your boat in the water) you need to travel through an extremely narrow bridge. We have a pontoon boat, so hitting the sides of the tunnel was not damaging, but we did hit about half the time. We also had to put down our Bimini each time.

This was one of our favorite vacations. Unfortunately, as long as we have a big boat, we would not be able to stay here again.

Quaint house, great location

  • 4 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for my family of 5. Short walk out the back door to the dock. Dinner on the back deck, limited wi-if, but that was just fine. Chris was very responsive. Would definitely recommend,

Wonderful Home and Super Location!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four with kids ages 10 and 14. The house is decorated in a charming lakeside theme. The bedrooms are ample and nicely decorated, the master bath is very spacious and well-lit, and the common bathroom was perfect for the kids. Toilets flush great, showers have awesome water pressure, appliances all work well and it's just a short walk to the dock through the back yard. We loved being able to swim right off the dock, and having coffee out there in the morning was such a blissful and peaceful treat. We rented a boat with a large tube and kept it docked overnight right at the house. It was convenient to be able to get right to our boating adventures in the morning. The neighbors are so friendly and kind. They gave us a doggie life-vest to borrow for our dog and our son was invited by them to fish and he caught a good-sized catfish. There's comfortable furniture on the dock for great relaxation or a meal at the table. We're from the middle part of hot and humid NC and were amazed that we had no trouble at all with mosquitoes or biting insects. I'm a mosquito magnet and didn't get a single mosquito bite over the 4 days we were at the lake house. I am not kidding! We highly recommend this gem of a lake house. It will suit all your needs while inside and when you get out there on that solid dock with a gorgeous view of the lake, you'll want to stay out there! We would happily rent this property again. Five Stars!!

LOVED IT!

  • 5 of 5

Boat lift was perfect, once we got our Yamaha under the bridge, everything was great! House was well decorated and we felt right at home. No problems or surprises, three fun days on the lake tubing, knee boarding, wake boarding and swimming. Delicious dinner at the pointe restaurant too!

Mini vacation

We enjoyed our stay, the house was everything we needed with a really nice shaded back porch, the dock and boat house is where we spent most of our time. Can't wait to make a return visit......Tim White & family
