House filthy
on arrival the house was filthy. Dead flies all over the floor and kitchen worktops. Mouse droppings in the dining room. Dirty pots in the cupboards. Cooker hood thick with grease. The settees were heavily stained and covered up with dirty throws. There were dirty towels in a heap in the utility room. None of the TVs worked properly. There was no hot water. We could not sit out as the grass was shoulder height. The garden furniture was covered with a plastic cover and had a pond of smelly dirty water in it. We contacted the host. She apologised but did not manage to resolve any of the issues raised. After many messages via text she offered us 1 extra night for free which we could not accept as our ferry was booked and could not be changed. However we did not want to stay there for the 10 days we had booked!! So why would we stay an extra night. VRBO were very unhelpful when we returned home and referred us to their confidence guarantee, which states we should have reported the conditions whilst we were there so have refused to compensate us with anything at all. I will never entertain booking with them again. There are other better firms to deal with.
