Why Tony Jacobs chose Traverse City
Quite frankly, we were a bit disappointed when we first moved to Michigan from Anchorage, AK. Our active lifestyle in Alaska, became difficult to maintain when we no longer had the mountains to climb or the miles of groomed ski trails to traverse. An anniversary trip to Traverse City (without the children) changed our minds about Michigan and we began looking for vacation rental property. It took us about 7 months, but we believe we found the perfect place.
Sports & Adventure Activities
The first impression of the outside of the house wasn't the best. Curb appeal could use some work!
The house was well set up on the inside with great space to spread out. The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare our meals throughout the week. We also loved the location! It was close to Traverse City, Moomers, Sleeping Bear dunes and we even took a little trip to Suttons Bay.
Halcyon House is located in a great area of Traverse City, being 2 miles from Moomers Ice Cream, and right across the street from the beach on Long Lake (all sport lake). We had tons of fun kayaking, making sand castles, and using the arcade game and air hockey. Would definitely recommend to others!
Had a great time!
The property met our needs perfectly. Great location, enjoyed the kayaks, great house layout for multiple families. Great game room.
Great for ladies getaway up north!
This house provided a great location for ladies getaway up north. The kitchen was very well appointed and we loved the fact that we all had our own space! May seem like a small thing but to be provided paper supply and soap products in kitchen and bathrooms was a nice touch!
There is a small grocery store within walking distance and the house was in easy to find location! We would highly recommend and would definitely book again! Thanks, Tony, you were very easy to work with! Thanks for sharing your place with us.
This place was clean and in an excellent location!
This was a great home with ample space for our family of 8! The beds are comfortable and the room sizes worked out well. The teens in our group loved the ping pong table and air hockey table. It was wonderful to be able to use the 2 kayaks. All you have to do is walk them across the road to the beach and dock access. The location was awesome since we were approximately 30 mins or less from any area attractions. I highly recommend this place.
Overall, my family & I were very pleased with this rental. The location was great - close walk to the beach (right across the street) and only 10-15 minutes to downtown TC. Enough space in the rental for everyone and having 3 separate bathrooms was great.
