Dream wedding venue

My husband and I chose this venue for our wedding! Our family and friends were able to stay overnight and we had the most beautiful wedding and had the place for the entire weekend, which made the event even more beautiful so we could savor the gorgeous property and amenities!

Family Holiday Get Together

This was our second stay at Chateau Hiddewood and it did not disappoint. Property has plenty of room for our large family to spread out comfortably. The spacious kitchen provided ample space for everyone to help prepare our family meals. Such a beautiful property!

Perfect little getaway!

I hosted my son’s first birthday here. The host was very attentive & answered every question I had. They have everything you need in this house for your stay. The kids loved the pool & game room that’s located in the garage. It was definitely a perfect place to stay. Thank you again for having us!

Large multi family property

Other than the cold snap during our stay, the amenities at the house were awesome! Didn’t need to leave to have a good time and keep kids entertained.

good for family celebrations

pool was dirty on arrival but owner had a pool service there by next morning, thank you, there was a lot of leaves and debris on the patios that could use some leaf blower attention, the gas grill needs some maintenance, there was plenty of space for all and the large kitchen was a definite plus

So sorry to hear the negative feedback on the pool and leaves, we do strive for a 5-star experience. We had just had a storm roll through and got a pool guy out the next morning. I ensure you the pool guy was actually there every other day that week but weather wasn’t in our favor at the time of your arrival and the property manager had offering to skim the pool for you in the meantime. Glad everyone liked the large amount of space we have.

Wedding Rehearsal Dream Stay!

This secluded home was an excellent property for the wedding rehearsal of our son and newest daughter! The amenities were fantastic and the owner was wonderful to work with! There were a few minor details to overcome, but it all worked out nicely. We plan to use this rental again for a relaxing vacay!

Texas Tree climbing competition

We had a huge group come out for the Texas tree climbing championship and thia house was perfect for feeding 40 people. The back yard as well as the home and neighborhood are gorgeous. We will absolutely be back!

Picturesque Micro-Wedding Venue

Such a gorgeous home and property! We are so blessed to have celebrated our love in such a beautiful place. Taylor was so helpful and easy to communicate with, the house was immaculate and we loved hosting our out-of-town guests there as well. It made everything so much easier to provide a place for them to stay as well! Truly could not be happier with our stay, the chateau will always be a very special place for us!

Family under one roof

Wonderful time was had by all!! Plenty of things to do yet places to find solitude or just sit around and catch up. Many thanks to our host who allowed us a late booking on a holiday with the family the size of our family we had two families come in from other states and one from overseas as well as for children that live local they were able to be with us in the daytime And yet not spend the night it was a perfect time for us. Just wish it could’ve been longer.

Staycation Worthy!

We rented this beautiful home for a family staycation. We live nearby but wanted a large space for my daughter to have a gathering with close friends and family to celebrate her 16th birthday and swim in a pool. The house was a great space; the kitchen and outdoor area were the perfect areas to gather and visit. The pool was a great size for adults and small children to swim. The trees around the pool were nice once the sun started to go down, as they provided some shade, and though the crepe myrtles are pretty in bloom, it is unfortunate that the blooms all end up in the pool. For those who consider staying here, be cautious of the septic system. If you do not live outside of city limits, septic systems are very sensitive and something to consider if hosting a large group. The one issue we did have resulted in the property owners promptly coming out to address it, so that was nice. We would definitely rent this space again for a home away-from-home staycation!

I feel as if I have been scammed because of the 5 star rating! The grounds were shameful, the grill was disgusting and dangerous, no warning, the grill cover does not stay open and almost cut off my finger while I was trying to clean it. As a result I had a bloody wrapped finger for the photos at my daughter wedding thank you so much for that I had to stabalize the grill cover with another part of the grill and it was shakey at best.Thank GOD one of the girls or my daughter was not the one trying to clean up that disgusting grill! Broken shower 2nd floor, light switches loose and comprimised. Even the main suite was bad, everything is old and worn, the closet shelves were grimey and disgusting, needing minimum a fresh paint. I can't believe that actually offer it for weddings.The decking out by the so called pond is questionable at best and the pond itself is just a giant mosquito infested puddle. All the tree's need to be trimmed, and in general everything on the exterior of the building was grey, worn, and dirty. I spent more time cleaning then relaxing. I had to by flowers to try to dress up the immediate outside area for guests. I also had to go buy a broom. All the appliances in the kitchen are at least 25 years old and showing their age. I could go on and on. Now I know why they would not allow me to come see it before the event. This is NOT a 5 star property and definetly NOT worth the money!

Very sorry to see your review and wish you had reached out in some way. The pond deck is actually brand new - a new deck as of 3 months ago so I’m not sure how it could be questionable. I’m sorry to hear about the grill issues. We haven’t heard of any shower issues but will go take a look tomorrow but lots of stays since your stay also with no comments on the shower. The broom is always in the closet off the laundry room. I know there are many closets in that massive house and we could have answered if anything was asked during your stay. Also confused why you would say we wouldn’t let you out to see the property prior as we have visitors out weekly who are booked or looking to book. We just don’t allow visitors during other people’s stays of course (usually weekends). We do our best to make everyone happy with their stay, sorry to hear that wasn’t the case for your stay.

beautiful property but poorly maintained

This was a beautiful property with a great swimming pool and outdoor seating area. It was great for a large dinner gathering with plenty of seating in the house. It has a good-sized washer and dryer that worked well and plenty of towels and linens. We loved the fridge and freezer space, and the spacious kitchen island and the dual dish washers. Every shower had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was plenty of hot water. We had a good experience interacting with the host who was very responsive to a couple issues that we came across and addressed a problem with the AC very promptly. With all of that being said, we thought that the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the property could be improved - there were a lot of insects in and around the house, and numerous wasps nests we had to spray before we could let the children outside. Also, making guests aware that they cannot enjoy the outdoor areas without significant mosquito deterrents would be nice (we assume the stagnant pond contributes to the insane amount of mosquitos). The pool furniture needed a power washing. We had some issues with the grill and smoke getting into the house through closed windows. The lack of organization in the kitchen drawers and cupboards was also frustrating, it seemed that a lot of what was there was left over from previous guests. With the cost of the property we had high expectations, if these things had been better maintained they would have made our stay that much more enjoyable.

We have since then had the kitchen floor grout and hood vent on the outdoor kitchen professionally cleaned per your concerns. Plus, had the kitchen reorganized :) You did happen to be the last stay before our pest control treatment. Wasps nests do pop up quickly with rain, in the country. Along with mosquitos with rain and summer time do exist in the country, regardless of what treatment is done. Apologies for anything that wasn’t to the high standard expected for our high-end property and I can ensure you every concern addressed was taken care of right away. Micro Wedding

Our overall stay went well. I do feel like the property could have been more thoroughly cleaned. I primarily am giving this a lower rating because I felt like the communication with the property manager was poor. I had no idea that this was a micro wedding venue with its own site and booking process. Therefore, I found it on VRBO and booked it with approval for our small wedding. After booking and scheduling a tour, I felt like we were treated as less than by the property manager due to booking a “standard stay” through VRBO and not through them directly. I considered canceling the VRBO booking and going directly through them for an additional charge however, after the way we were talked to and treated during the tour, I preferred to take on the task of set up and break down with no extras. Money wasn’t a barrier for us but I wasn’t comfortable paying more after being treated the way we were. I requested an additional tour and was told there was a limit of one to limit travel… for them (I can’t imagine that’s normal for a wedding venue). Final fee of additional guests wasn’t added until days before the wedding and wasn’t communicated to me as to when I’d see that fee so I felt like it was dumped on us days before our wedding. They were kind enough to let us check in early but after everything else, my perception hadn’t changed much. Very rude and unprofessional in my opinion. Had I had more time to plan my wedding, I probably would have picked an alternate location.

Sorry to see your review but you all were very unkind guests, didn’t follow our house rules and trashed the place with confetti. It is standard that for Vrbo or Airbnb properties you don’t get to tour the place prior to booking or after booking. However, we welcomed you come tour without hesitation. Then you asked for yet another tour with not much notice. Due to this being a Vrbo booking and not a wedding venue booking, we felt it’s very understandable that you can’t keep coming out to the venue, as it is booked with other guests or already cleaned for another guest. Sorry you didn’t understand the additional guest fee, that was made very clear when you all booked and asked to have double the guests. We typically just charge for it prior to check-in. If you had asked for the charge sooner, we would have been happy to charge you sooner but since you were on a payment plan, we were trying to space things out for you. I think it’s clear we were in a losing battle with you all and your expections. Sorry we were not able to meet those. We wish you all the best.
