Nearby Teufelsbadfachklinik (5 min) and Monastery Michael Stone with well-run restaurants (10 min). Good hiking and excursions: Baroque castle gardens u. Parks with gr. U. Kl. Castle, grandpa rocks, Devils Wall, castle-u. Fortress Regenstein, sandstone caves, climbing park, goat head, Rübeländer caves, Harzer dams, Rübelandbahn, Harz narrow gauge railways, Brockenbahn, cableways Thale, Hexentanzplatz, Rosstrappe, Bodetal, Bode Therme, world heritage city of Quedlinburg, timbered town of Wernigerode and Goslar, Halberstadt, the gateway to the Harz.
