This massive beachfront home is the perfect for your family vacation. The nearly 4000 square foot home features 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, wet bars, a pool table, an outdoor kitchen and bar and grill, and 3,000+ square feet of an ocean-view deck. The furnished rear and front decks allow your guests to enjoy sunrise and sunset views, right beside the ocean. The deck on the first floor is covered, meaning you can enjoy the outdoors regardless of weather, providing additional peace of mind that your event will be a hit. Walk or drive a golf cart to the beach right in front of the house.

Hakuna Matata is one of the largest rentals on the Bolivar Peninsula, easily and comfortably sleeping 30 people, while still offering plenty of room to entertain and lounge.
The house is filled with smart ROKU televisions with high speed internet for streaming your favorite shows, and using your own devices. There’s also a full-size pool table that is a guest favorite.

On the main floor you will find two living areas, so you can spread out and relax with plenty of privacy. One includes a faux fireplace for that cozy feel. There is also a wet bar, and a well-stocked kitchen with all you'll need to prepare snacks and meals, including a big granite island, chef's gas stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Indoor and outdoor dining tables provide seating for everyone.
The second floor also includes a living area and another wet bar - entertaining space abounds! For your convenience the property also offers a washer and dryer.

The six bedrooms make sleeping your whole group a breeze! There are 3 bedrooms that each have one king bed (one of these also has an ensuite bath). A fourth bedroom offers 2 queen beds. The fifth bedroom has 4 queen beds and 2 twin beds. The largest bunkroom (bedroom 6) has 3 sets of twin over queen bunks! (This bunk room is on the first floor, while the other bedrooms are all on the second floor.)

On the ground level is an epic stainless steel kitchen and BBQ area with a full wet bar, so you can grill, drink, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico all at the same time. You'll appreciate the outdoor shower when you want to rinse the sand off after a day on the beach.

This property is called the Hakuna Matata because it’s the perfect place to forget your worries while making unforgettable memories with all your family and friends!

Small dogs (under 35 pounds) are allowed with a pet fee. All Swedes Real Estate vacation rentals are non-smoking properties. Swedes does not rent to guests under 25 years of age.

Summer vacation

Our group had 4 families total, 8 adults and 17 kids. We had more than enough room in this spacious home. Our beach view and access were wonderful. Our only recommendation would be cooking utensils, pots/pans, bowls large enough to accommodate 30 people (total house capacity). It would have made it much easier on guests preparing meals in the home. Also, the house has a million dollar view of the ocean, the windows facing the beach could use a good cleaning for that first view wow factor. Overall we were very satisfied.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Hakuna Matata was overall a good experience, though it came with some challenges. We had originally planned to stay in two neighboring homes—Pirates Beach and Pirates Cove—but Pirates Cove was canceled on us at the last minute. Hakuna Matata was provided as a replacement, and while we appreciated having another house, it was located farther away from the rest of our group, which made things less convenient and disrupted some of our plans.That said, the house itself was pretty clean and comfortable. Upon arrival one of the bedroom doors was left open to the outside deck so it was a bit warm and the house had a stale smell. Several guests mentioned that the toilets did not flush well. Overall the house was a bit dated it run down just. It just needs some TLC. We liked the shrink-wrapped towels and sheets—having a fresh, sealed set for each room was a great touch. The beds were pretty comfortable, and the home met our basic needs.There were a few minor issues worth noting. One of the rooms cooling unit went out mid stay and late at night but was easily fixed by replacing the batteries in the remote. This house also felt a bit understocked in terms of essentials like paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap, so future guests may want to bring extra supplies.All in all, we made the best of it and appreciated having a place to stay, but the unexpected change in location and the distance from the rest of our party did take away from the overall experience.

There are a few things in the description of this property that I feel are misleading and dishonest. Firstly, it is not a true six bedroom. It’s five bedrooms with the 6th open bedroom space.. Sixth area with bunkbeds does not have a door, closet or a dresser. So for someone having a family expecting to stay in that room, they have no privacy to even change their clothes or sleep at night. Listing states two refrigerators as the house sleeps 30. We got there and one refrigerator was not in operation. Maintenance told me it had been that way for months and I was not notified due to my trip. Therefore, we had lots of things we could not fit in the one refrigerator that didn’t even have an icemaker. One of the bunk rooms they forgot to mention actually has the washer and dryer in the room with it. The room sleeps eight people, but if you need to do laundry, you would have to walk all the way through the room to the back closet to wash any laundry. Some little things that bothered me were the fact that a couple of the rooms didn’t even have a closet. Some of the rooms that had a closet didn’t even have a rod to hang your clothes. One bathroom didn’t have a counter so we had to keep our personal items on the commode. There was nowhere in the room to even store your clean towels or dirty towels as there were no hooks on walls or doors.. The outside shower was also not working. I requested maintenance to come and fix that on our first morning. To my knowledge they never showed. So at the end of the evening when we came in to shower and rinse off before taking all the sand upstairs, my father had to fix the shower himself. Other small things like furniture that could’ve been cleaned better,one of the chairs in the dining room was broken stuff that I could’ve overlooked, but there was just too many things that added up. Pleasant Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time, other than the heat. The house was nice and roomy. The ONLY complaints was the horrible animal pee smell in the stairway and the dated and stained upstairs furniture. I understand this is pet friendly, but for those of us whose pet is TRULY trained, it was pretty rough having to smell that. I did call Swedes and they came almost immediately to spray the carpet down with febreeze, left 3 full bottles, and returned with refills for the plug-ins. My biggest issue with this is that we paid a 125 pet why doesn't the owner use that money to clean the carpet? I feel like that was a rip off, as we made sure our pet was clean and potty trained. oh, and the pool table could REALLY use some new sticks, as only 2 are not broken, and one of those basically doesn't have a tip on it. Did see about 4-5 more sticks that were all broken. The lot out front was nice for the kids to play in. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. Probably wouldn't stay here again, unless updated and cleaned, but will definitely rent from Swedes again!! PS...also could use a pet gate for the stairs, especially since the live in, very close neighbors have 7 boxers that don't like other animals.

Reviewer Comments: Our 6 months of planning for a vacation including 5 branches of the family resulted in unnecessary stress and disappointment rather than all fun and relaxation as advertised for a property set to accommodate 30 people for a significant cost. Unfortunately the house is in need of extermination, deep cleaning, repairs, and furniture/appliance replacement. Even after walking the property 2 weeks in advance and providing several inputs, we still had issues - rotten/standing water in dishwasher, dirty cabinets, countertops, and refrigerator, molded coffee grounds left in coffee pot, 10+ burned out light bulbs, outdoor grill does not heat up enough to cook on, and bed bugs found in back bedroom. Also during the rain on Saturday, water came in all main floor windows, resulting us placing containers to catch it and then cleaning up the mess to prevent more damage. We were offered the option to leave, not relocate, after our first night for a full refund, but after the money spent on food and necessities for the trip, and the gathering of 25+ family members, we didn't see this as an acceptable option. Once the trip was over, the owner simply provided a refund for 1 day. We've rented from Swede's before, dating back to the 80's and this is the first time we have had this type of experience.

We’ve been using Swedes for 15 years. They make the process very simple. We have tried Vrbo’s once or twice. But those have all been lesser experiences. This particular home was awesome! Great lay out! Great view! All of the rooms are well appointed. The home is very well maintained and had no trouble accommodating our group of 17. This year, it was my turn to reserve the beach house and everyone in the group was very impressed with this house. I would definitely stay here again.

For the price though, was disappointed in several things...-why aren't linens put on beds? -there is no crockpot-the entire property needs a very deep clean-the bbq pit is horrendous! Positive -- mgmt need bring out a charcoal pit at 11 pm. But can't be used on the second floor where the fun bar setup is.
