Cozy, charming cabin in a small, quiet mountain neighborhood. 7.5 miles to Boone and Appalachian State University. Only 10 minutes to beautiful Valle Crucis Community Park with access to the Watauga River for swimming and fishing. Rushing creek runs behind the cabin. Western mountain views. New kitchen with farm sink. New appliances. New walk in shower. New soaking tub in one of the bathrooms. Cozy reading area in the small sunroom/office. Cabin is right under 1,000 square feet. Perfect for Appalachian State parents or couples. We are pet friendly but you must check the "pet" box and there is a 75.00 pet fee. If you would like to book please include a few sentences in the booking request. Thank you 😊

Great location and everything you need is in the home. I must mention that there are skylights in every room over the bed, great at night, bright early!

We had a wonderful stay in the charming cottage tucked in the mountains of Vilas. We were greeted by a lit Christmas tree and the cabin was the perfect size. I usually know a VRBO rental is going to be good by the kitchen and the bathrooms. Both were recently remodeled and perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful view, cozy cabin home and quiet surroundings. Fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable beds. The host is very communicative and offers suggestions as to places to go. Would definitely recommend over and over.

We had an amazing stay at the Cozy Log Cabin in Vilas, NC and plan to come back sometime! The cabin is newly renovated and well appointed with fully functional kitchen, a beautiful reading room and new bathroom (cabin has 2 full baths, one with soaking tub and one with shower).Louise was quick to respond with restaurant ideas and any questions we had.We highly recommend for a nice getaway to the mountains of NC!

Christmas cabin

This cabin was so cozy and welcoming with a decorated Christmas tree and a wonderful mountain view from the large front window. It was big enough for a family of four and had lots of extra blankets to use even though the cabin heated-up nicely. There isn't much of a dining area if you need one but the kitchen is very nice. There are also skylights in the bedrooms; could be an issue for light-sleepers especially when it rains as it can be noisy. The king bed was very comfortable.I really like this cabin and would recommend it.

Perfect balance of old character and new conveniences

We absolutely loved this cabin - it was compact but comfortable for 4 adults. The setting, in early fall, is peaceful and gorgeous. We photographed a family of deer in the front yard this morning and played with neighbors’ pups yesterday. Yellow and red leaves were vibrant and stunning (our FB friends are jealous!). The kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated very nicely and the entire house is well stocked- from kitchen supplies to starter toiletries. Bedding was comfortable and the entire place was spotless. We will definitely be back!

Charming Cabin, Great Views!

This fully updated cabin is so charming and cozy! There are updates throughout the bathrooms and kitchen that are beautifully done and the sitting room/office is so cozy (complete with a small loft and a beautiful greenhouse window). We enjoyed the reading nook with fully stocked book shelf and had a family game night one evening with the included board games. The cabin is very clean and is stocked with everything you might need. We loved the location and took multiple trips to nearby attractions in Boone, Blowing Rock, and Valle Crucis (all within 20-30 minutes away). The mountain views from the porch are beautiful and can be enjoyed from all of the front-facing windows. Thankful for the opportunity to spend a long weekend on this beautiful property!

First and foremost we love Vilas and its proximity to Boone, Valle Crucis and all the other fun areas. This neighborhood is in a great location but its far enough out that its country too. The best of both worlds.
