About this property
Stovall #3 Historic & walkable to downtown Augusta hotspots
The historic Stovall-Barnes House is a short walk from the Savannah River, the medical district, the Cyber Center, and many of the city's most dynamic entertainment venues, restaurants, and museums. This charming home retained some of the original wood floors, mantels, windows, and moldings and boasts 12' ceilings. The new modern kitchen includes granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Includes stackable w/d, smart TVs, wifi, plush linens, and gated off-street parking. When you enter the gated parking area in the back of the home, you will see a beautiful outdoor common space that has a masonry fireplace, a gas grill and a covered seating area. There is also a putting green to practice your putts! When you enter the back door of the building, you come into a grand common foyer with a beautiful, original staircase. The foyer gives way to 4 individual private apartment units that are completely separated from each other. Each unit hosts it's own living space, kitchen and bedroom(s) and bathroom(s). This unit is in a building with other VRBO listings. If you are in search of a place to house a large group for a wedding, girls weekend, family reunion or business function, this is an excellent choice. Each unit, however, is it's own separate apartment that is completely private from the other units. Message us for more details and receive the link to book directly.
Potential for Noise: Due to the home’s historic character and close proximity to all the city has to offer, some road noise and music from an adjacent bar may be heard. White-noise machines are provided for your comfort.

We were in town for a night and needed a comfortable place to stay :) This apartment was exactly what we needed! The decor was gorgeous and the layout was perfect for a group of friends — one bedroom is off by itself and two are next to each other. We spent the evening hanging out on the balcony and walked to dinner. Parking was easy and secure! Check-in was a breeze and communication was incredibly easy!
We came to town for a family party 30 minutes away but decided to stay in downtown Augusta. This was a lovely property with a gated car park and outdoor amenity area. We really enjoyed everything about our stay.

Our daughter was graduating from Augusta U, we found this property on VRBO. It's the Historic Stovall Building. The amenities were impeccable. What great location. Shelly was quick to respond to any of our needs. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Thank you, Ken! I am so happy that you were able to enjoy The Stovall House for your very special occasion. Come back and visit!
We absolutely loved how beautifully decorated & modern this property was. So much bright natural light! It was just 2 blocks from downtown with many food & bar choices. Our host was excellent at communicating & so easy to get a hold of. This property is one of my VRBO favs!!!

It was a pleasure having you as our guests, thank you for the wonderful compliments and we hope you can return soon.
Five friends for an overnight stay. We saw a performer at the Bell auditorium. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The venue was in easy walking distance. We all felt safe and had a ball. House is cozy and comfortable. Lots of local art. We loved it!

I am so happy you guys had an amazing time! You all will have to do it again!
Our stay was everything we were hoping for based on the pictures. 10/10 cleanliness. 10/10 mattress comfort. The only negative thing I would say is that the bedroom got really hot so we had to purchase a box fan. Our party felt safe the entire time we were there due to the locked gates. We we’re all in agreement that we would stay here the next time we were in town.
The apartment layout, amenities and host responsiveness were amazing. Potential visitors should know that it’s a shared building, there were guests in other apartments who unfortunately opened the general facilities and secure parking areas up to their guests for partying. There’s also a bar with outside music next door, which could work for some guests. Unfortunately for us, the outdoor music until 2 am was not ideal.
The apartment is spacious and comfortable for a family or group of friends. It should be noted that there is a flight of stairs to get to this unit so prepare accordingly for a family with young children and/or seniors. The host was thorough with communication. Would return if in the area!

Quaint Apartment
Second floor apartment in a historic house. Close to downtown and the river. The apartment is cute and well laid out, but it could have been cleaner - table tops and kitchen counter were sticky and the couch and floor needed a go-over. Beds need to have mattress pads! Location is good for walking downtown, but beware: traffic noise is LOUD.

This house is next to a bar that played music until 2:00 am! We were exhausted the next morning. Also, there is no detail about it being on second floor. Not suitable for disabled visitors (about 25 steep steps up). For the most part, house was clean except for bathroom. There wasn't a way to cut the porch lights on the balcony, so the front two rooms are extremely bright at night. House was a little warm, but we were there in August.
