In nearby Valtura you can see the remains of the oldest settlement of the peninsula, the former Illyrian capital Nesactium. Small towns in the surroundings such as Krnica, Rakalj, Kavran, where various events take place in the summer, such as fishing festivals, offer an ideal opportunity to get acquainted with local traditions and customs, as well as rich traditional cuisine. In Pula you can see many sights from its long history. The most impressive buildings in the city date back to Roman times. Besides the Roman amphitheater, better known as Pula Arena, and the well-preserved Augustan temple in the Forum, there is also the Dirke mosaic and the Triumphal Arch of Sergius.
