Beautiful Rental Home on Lake Wawasee

Bedrooms 5
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 8 nights

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 12-14)

This home is so close to the water of Lake Wawasee, that when you are sitting inside the living room and dining at the table, you will feel as if you are on the water. There are plenty of large windows in this home to give you the full appreciation of being this close.

This stone and siding home built in the 1930's will give you a nostalgic feel, as if you're visiting grandmother’s lakefront home. It has the best of both old and new as there is central air, a security system, and new constant pressure well (so you have plenty of water for all the showers to be used simultaneously).

This home has a lake cottage aura about it, as it has a nautical decor. Four of the bedrooms have antique furnishings that further give this home a feeling of nostalgia. There is also a child or teen room with two bunk beds. Everything is furnished in this home -- towels, washcloths, sheets and a completely ready-to-go kitchen, including a microwave, coffee-machine, toaster, pots and pans, silverware, and dishes. Grill outside your kitchen door in a picket-fenced flowered garden with a beautiful view of the lake.

Walk out the front door, take a few steps and you are on the new 100 foot long pier. There is plenty of sitting room to bask in the sun on the lounge area of the dock located 60 feet from the shore on the lake. Dive off the dock and swim 50 feet beyond to the diving and swim platform. In the morning, sit on the wicker furniture located on the seawall patio, drinking your coffee, and watching the morning waves of the water. A picnic table is placed on the patio of the seawall for direct lakeside dining. Take an afternoon nap on the hammock underneath the large oak trees, inches away from the water. Explore Lake Wawasee with a new Bennington Tri-Tune Boat (350HP, inboard) available for your use(a separate rental usage). Jet Skis and Kayaks are also available for rental.

Making Memories!

  • 5 of 5

We have come to this lake house every year for the past 8 years. I am a small business owner who keeps busy all the time. We started this tradition to get away from all the craziness of life and spend time with our family. My wife and I, our 4 kids (and their spouses) and our grandchildren look forward to coming each year. It's become a home away from home. It's such a relaxing, fun environment. We've tubed, boated, kayaked, paddle boarded, fished and swam and have enjoyed every minute. The house is always clean and inviting when we arrive. It is very close to Oakwood Inn, so we have taken the boat and eaten outside at their restaurant. It is not far from Shipshewana. We've driven there to enjoy a dinner at the Blue Gate Restaurant. There are a couple delicious ice cream shops within minutes of the house that we made several trips to as well. We are doing more than just coming to boat and swim...we are making memories with our kids and grand kids that will last a lifetime. Thank you!!!

AWESOME Getaway for the extended family!

  • 5 of 5

We love this lake house!!! This was our second summer staying there. It has a ton of room, the lake is literally steps from the back door. We enjoyed a multi-generational vacation, with our small kids through the grandparents. The neighbors have a beach that they welcomed us to use, and we really enjoyed the boat. It was nice having everything with such easy access for our disabled grandparents to our two year old. Also, Ruth is incredibly responsive and house was in impeccable shape!

Lake Wawasee AWESOME HOUSE!!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this house in June and it was great. The house slept 10 people with lots of space for 3 or 4 more.

The house had everything we needed and we are really glad we chose it this years because I highly recommend it.

My husband, 6 children and 6 grandchildren had a great week staying in this nicely decorated and homey cottage! We loved the location, sandy beach for the kids, and lots of fun in the lake floating and talking. It brought back wonderful memories vacationing with my parents on the lake! The bunkbeds were an addes suprise! Thanks for the memories made!!!

10 happy women

  • 5 of 5

My 4 sisters (ages 48-66) and I have a reunion every other year and this year decided to each invite a friend. This was the perfect place! All of us had clean, comfortable beds & plenty of shower access. We took turns cooking in the well equipped kitchen and on the grill. There was lots of laughter around the spacious dining table. The living room had room for us (and everyone's computers/ipads) to hang out. The pontoon afforded a shady lakeside "living room" as well as relaxing sightseeing trips around the lake. The location made trips to Essenhaus, Shipshewana's Blue Gate Theater, North Webster's Pilcher's Shoes & Rosie's Restaurant in Cromwell convenient. The owners have created a wonderful lake home & all of us recommend it without hesitation. Hope we'll get to be repeat customers!
