About this property

Home on the Water with Beautiful Lake View and Private Dock

This home on the lake offers large living spaces for guests to enjoy. There is a living room with windows to the lake, an oversized dining room with a lake view and a large table around which to gather for meals and games. There is a lower level family room and walk out to deck.

A new deck to the lake, and a private dock will enhance your enjoyment of the sailboat races taking place Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. A boat lift is not included with the property. However, you can arrange to have one put in during your stay. You can ride your bike around our lake for a 14 mile tour of homes, lake views and wild life.

The Historic Surf Ballroom is ten blocks away. You can catch live entertainment almost every weekend at the Surf, or take a tour of the ballroom and see where Buddy Holly, JP Richardson and the Big Bopper played their last concert.

City Park in Clear Lake is home to concerts and art shows, wooden boat shows and antique car shows. There is always something fun to do in Clear Lake!

Nice clean and comfy house with all the amenities. Great location on the lake. Found lots to do in town and on the lake. Close to town, even walking distance. Definitely would rent this house again.

Nice spot!

This is always a fun place to stay! Our family enjoyed it very much as it is convenient and homey. A nice sign and gift basket greeted us when we came into the home which was so thoughtful!!!

Lake house

We had a wonderful time. Dogs were welcome and the view of the lake was lovely. I did think there was going to be a hot tub.....(maybe I misread something).Laura was wonderful to work with and got right back to me with answers to any questions I had. Definately stay again when it's a little cooler. Plenty of room, blankets, and towels. Host even provided coffee. The whole house is beautifully decorated and really makes you feel like you're at the beach. Thanks Laura!Edwards Crew

Fantastic lakeside home

I was looking for a home to rent that was actually on the lake, and there aren’t that many available in Clear Lake. This home was even better than I expected. The view was amazing and the proximity to downtown Clear Lake was perfect. One of the best parts of this experience was the host. They were extremely gracious and friendly and went above and beyond what other VRBO hosts have done with me in the past I highly recommend this rental.

Have no complaints as Laura was a great hostess making contact in various ways to ensure our stay had no problems. Weather was an issue but no one has control of that. View was great even in stormy weather. Had the relaxing time we were looking for. Again thank you Laura for opening your home and being a great hostess.

Family vacation

We enjoyed the house very much. We took advantage of the dock for boating and using the jet ski. Host was very responsive no matter how small the question. Beautiful view of the lake. We didn’t need anything that wasn’t available in the house for us to use. Clear Lake in general was welcoming and friendly. Would love to come back again.

Great location!

This home is 1.5 miles from City Beach and downtown shopping/restaurants! We are so glad we stayed on the lake! This property had a two level deck with its own dock where we could swim as it was only waste deep! It was nice having 2 bathrooms as we had 6 adults staying! The property was quiet and very cute! Laura was very easy to work with and she answered our questions in a timely manner! We didn’t find anything wrong with the property when we arrived! It was advertised accurately! We will definitely stay there again!

On the lake!

Great spot on the lake, house is older and there is little space between houses, no yard. Stairs to lake are in bad shape, not recommended for elderly or small children. Very clean. House is small for bedrooms and bathrooms, 2nd bedroom is in an attic like space, you have to duck and very hot. Decks looking over lake are awesome. Everything is provided in house.

a perfect spot to be on the lake with lake access and a dock.

it's older clear lake which is exactly why we stayed there. perfect location for us. the vrbo site was confusing and stressful. we paid online through the site but afterwards nothing happened as explained on the site. we were stressed by that. we asked for info of check in and it took some days for a response. after paying online in good faith we expected for things to happen on the site as explained on the site, but they did not. the house was clean but it needed a deep cleaning. bedroom windows were dirty inside and out. spider webs in windows and baths. main deck and chairs full of debris. we never received a check out list until we asked the night before checkout. we got a quick response on this, which we appreciated.

Lake Property

Generally as described. Great viewing of the lake. Decks are nice for relaxing at the end of the day or watching the sunrise. Worked fine for us. Bathrooms on the small side and very short toilet heights could present problems for older guests. Large living areas with lots of windows are a bonus.

What a great time at Clear Lake!

We couldn’t have asked for a more accommodating host for our stay at Clear Lake! So friendly, very responsive, accommodating to all our needs during a very eventful family filled weekend. Our host even greeted us with some snacks and drinks! Our stay couldn’t have been more perfect on a weekend full of family time. We’ll definitely be back, thank you so much for having us!

It was great. Right on the lake. Has a dock we could fish from. Silly fish weren't biting. Great kitchen. Dining and living room great. Decks were great. Has a grill. So we were able to grill. Lovely home. Would go again.

Quick get away to Clear Lake

The house was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. Awesome neighborhood and right on the lake. The private dock was awesome. Really nice to just sit on one of the decks and relax.

Perfect Getaway

We came for a quick family getaway, and it was perfect! The house is extremely clean, super convenient location, and outstanding hospitality from the host. We started every morning with our coffee on the deck overlooking the amazing view of the lake. We took in a show at The Surf, which was walkable, and AMAZING. Relaxed on a pontoon for a day, which was super easy to rent from Clear Lake Boat rentals. The town has tons of great eating spots and fun bars to visit for the day. We will be back again!

Expected it to be worth the price

There are so many things that made this property not worth what they ask for it. -You are given one key, so if somebody leaves and takes the key the others at the house need to either stay until they return or leave the house unlocked with your belongings there. -The upstairs room has no privacy due to there not being a door -The doors to the bedroom on the main floor do not close completely -There were spiderwebs in most of the rooms and lots of little spiders in the upstairs room -No blinds or curtains on the windows facing the water -There was dried food stuck to some of the cooking utensils -One of the stove burners had a pile of burned food under it -The vacuum canister was completely full and needed to be emptied before being able to use it -Windows were too difficult to open for fresh air -Too difficult to get a boat to the dock due to a large floating platform in the way the belongs to the neighbors on the left -Visible rodent trap on the side of the house -Had to empty the dehumidifiers almost daily (after figuring out what they were since we have never had to use one before) -Not offering a refund for cancelations should have been a red flag. Maybe we are just nit-picking but for the price paid we believe we have every right to do so.

My husband, Mark and I purchased this home at the same time we bought our family home on Clear Lake. We have lived in Clear Lake 32 years, 19 years on the lake. We have three grown children and two grandchildren, all of whom will tell you there is no place better than Clear Lake in the summer!

Why they chose this property

We love Clear Lake and enjoy having our extended family visit us often. When we are not using this home for our guests, we make it available for others to use when they come to Clear Lake.

This home has a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We often watch the sailboat races on the weekend from the deck. The fishing is good off the private dock of this home.
