The master bath has a soaking bath tub with a large picture window providing a great view of the wilderness as well as a separate large shower made from rock slate. The second bedroom features two high-quality twin beds and a full-size futon bed with ensuite bathroom. The third bedroom doubles as an office, with a twin-size day bed. A light-weight twin-size roll-away bed is also available, allowing a total of seven to be accommodated comfortably.

About Bill and Nancy Moeller

We're a Foreign Service family of five, having spent most of the last 20 years working and living overseas. But our favorite place in the world -- where we always come back between tours -- is beautiful Idaho. After many years of looking, we were finally able to find and buy our dream home outside of Boise in 2010. Unfortunately, we won't be able to live in Idaho full-time for a while, so in the meantime, the house will be available as a vacation rental. We're sure you'll enjoy it as much as we do! Why Bill and Nancy Moeller chose Idaho

The location just outside of Boise offers the perfect mix of wilderness and country living with close access to all the conveniences and amenities of one of the nicest and most liveable state capitals.

What makes this house unique

We and the kids love all the wonderful things there are to do here year-round, including swimming in the swimming hole in nearby Moore's Creek, tubing down the Boise River, white water rafting on the Payette River, boating at Lucky Peak Reservoir, snow skiing at Bogus Basin, hiking in the nearby mountains and taking day trips to nearby attractions like historic Idaho City. And when we need a taste of civilization, Boise is just a 40-minute drive away. If you like outdoor activities, wide open spaces and breath-taking scenery, you're going to love this part of the country as much as we do!

The property was well kept with Great views of the valley! The road to get up there was a bit of a challenge, but well worth it! We seen a lot of elk and deer. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for views and wildlife

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice and well equipped. The wrap around deck in the back is where we stayed most of the time. We were able to view many elk, deer and saw a bear with 3 cubs. The road up and down is a little much but if you are very careful, it's fine. The scenery everywhere around this home is just beautiful. We were able to catch fish and drive around to just enjoy the scenery. Being able to watch the elk in their natural habitat was just the most amazing experience I have ever had. Would definitely rent this home again and recommend it to friends. Didn't even miss no cell phone service.

Amazing view and perfect for our family of five.

  • 5 of 5

Nancy and Bill,

Your house was wonderful in every way, especially once we found our way up the slightly scary road! The space was just perfect for us and we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen especially. The view was incredible and we loved the local swimming hole after two very hot hikes. Thanks so much!

The views - it's all about the views

  • 5 of 5

Located conveniently about 45 min outside of Boise, this house offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains, as well as opportunities to see wildlife right outside your doorstep. Technically, the house is only a 2-bedroom, given that the basement is unfinished, but there is another small room - the "office" to the master - that could double as a 3rd bedroom. The fireplace in the living room is great, although there was no firewood available, so bring your own.

The drive to the house takes about 20 min from the hard road, and is full of switchbacks with no guardrail. I wouldn't want to do that drive in the winter.

Overall, a terrific place to stay, especially if you want to cozy up inside, watch wildlife, and relax while enjoying those amazing views. I'd stay there again.
