New to VRBO - An expansive, remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bath, private house on a large lot that adjoins open space to the Boise Foothills. Two blocks off Historic Warm Springs Ave, close to Greenbelt, Boise River, Botanical Garden, golf course, tennis, basketball, hiking, mtn biking, etc. 1.5 mi to Downtown. A short 5.8 miles to the Boise Airport ($11-$18 Uber ride, $20 via Taxi)...

Quiet and tranquil, peaceful and open, this property is ideally located; a country feel in the heart of the city! The home sits on ¼ acre with access to the trails out the back gate (mountain bike or hike 100's of miles). The home has central air for a very comfortable stay during the warmer summer months.

- Gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with full size Jenn-Air appliances, gas cook top, dishwasher, new set of quality pots and pan

- Front load washer/dryer, with fragrance free soap/dryer sheets

- Dining area has a table and 6 chairs. The bar/island that overlook the cooktop will seats 4 (great for conversations with the cook!).

- Living room features a large sectional, a large leather chair and 55” LED HDTV with DISH cable package, Netflix, Blue-Ray/DVD/CD/DISH Hopper (DVR).

- High Speed WiFi throughout the home.

- Large Master Suite features a king size bed, relaxing reading area, a walk-in closet and large master bathroom with walk-in shower for two.

- 2nd bedroom offers a queen bed, large closet and night stands with reading lamps.

- 3rd bedroom is separate from the main house. A 550 sqft accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Includes:

-- A queen size bed, queen futon sleeper, dresser, and armoire

-- A Home Gym equipped with cross-fit style equipment and stretching/yoga area.

-- Ductless heating and cooling unit.

-- Sorry, no bathroom in the ADU.

- Large back patio, with views of the foothills, is furnished with a table, 6 chairs, sun umbrella, large gas BBQ, and fire pit. Four plastic Adirondack chairs provide additional seating.

- Attached 2 car garage with room for baby equipment, bikes, and/or misc.

- Access hiking/biking trails from the back yard.

- Please ask about additional sleeping options for 2. We have 2 cots with bedding we can provide.


Please let us know if you'd like an earlier checkin or later checkout time. It all depends on other bookings, but we'll try to accommodate. We do need to schedule cleaning in advance so please ask when checking in.


Winter pricing is set to attract guests with smaller parties. Although the home is best situated for 6 guests, parties of 1-5 guests will find the home very affordable during the winter months. We charge a base rate for 4 guests and $15 each additional guest up to a total of 8 guests.

Stays longer than 30 days do not incur additional per/person charges up to 6 guests. Please contact us if this pertains to your request and we'll make the adjustment to your quote.


We live next door and can be available to give advice about things to do, favorite restaurants/pubs, or whatever. We've lived in Boise for 17+ years! Please, do not hesitate to call, text, or stop on by if you have any questions or concerns.

About Gary & Lynn Stott

My wife Lynn and I landed in Boise back in 1998 and love everything Boise and the state of Idaho offer up. We love to play and travel and most all of our adventures center around human powered activities. We enjoy floating rivers, backcountry ski tours, extended mountain bike tours, and put great stock in staying physically active.

We also enjoy international travel, immersing ourselves in cultures new to us and all the while creating new and lasting relationships with folks we meet along the way!

The property is located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Boise. Walking distance to hiking, mountain biking, tennis, golf, swimming, and much more. The heart of downtown is 1.5 miles away making it close enough to any activity, yet quiet for a relaxing evening on the outside patio overlooking open space.

What makes this house unique

A unique benefit of this property is the ADU unit. Although it does NOT have bathroom facilities, it's a great separation of space for kids or adults. It serves as the third bedroom for this property. It's equipped with a queen bed and queen futon along with an armoire for hanging clothes. There's ductless heating and cooling, as well as a wood burning stove. Crossfit style exercise equipment is also available for those early morning workouts. It's a very cozy place.

Amazing home base for any Boise visit

Stayed here with family and friends after the 2017 eclipse. Everything was equal to/better than the listing description. Others have written it is "better than the photos", I second that motion!

Extremely well-designed house, tastefully finished with quality materials. (Least someone come by with a snobby expectation that this means it is uber high-end and utterly faultless, I'm not saying that! I'm saying it's very, very pleasant and very nice.)

Kitchen had everything, house was great. WiFi was strong in the main house and the Yoga Studio/ADU unit. (Second unit does not have any washroom features, but is delightfully spacious and useful space. It is a real plus, if you don't have to have a bathroom there.)

Location was excellent! Fantastic array of walking trails at the back gate. Some visitor attractions (botanical garden, historic prison, green belt) are within walking distance. There is a good local grocery story a few blocks away. Whole Food, Trader Joe's etc and other grocery stores a short drive away.

Our hosts were responsive, accessible and friendly, without being obtrusive. Security deposit was refunded in less than a day of our departure.

Highly recommend. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. First visit to Boise and I would love to come back.

Fabulous house.

Had a wonderful time. House is beautiful and well appointed. The location is a little over a mile to downtown and the view of Castle Rock and the foithills is fantastic. This is our second time here.

Horrible stressful experience..not advised to book if you have babies!

We had booked this vrbo because it was close to St. Lukes Hospital where our twins were being born via surrogate. We had reserved it for 1 week and the wife told us that we could extend our stay a few more nights if needed (due to we would not know when our twins would be ready to travel) she also said that it was not booked for a few days after our reservation incase we needed to stay, she would be able to accommodate us.

At the end of the week , we received a text that they were very sorry ,but that they had double booked to a party of 12 and we needed to be out by 11 :15am the next day for the house cleaners. The twins had their first Dr. appt that we were late to because we had to rush and pack up to accommodate the people that they had "double booked" or were paying a higher rate for 12 people. The vrbo owner offered us some other names of people that had homes to rent and we ended up in Harris Ranch, which I highly recommend. It was a much nicer, newer neighborhood, cleaner, & peaceful. This was a very unpleasant experience to have gone through with newborns to say the least....

Owner's Response: What an unfortunate position we find ourselves in with this review. And somewhat disheartening to have to defend ourselves against these erroneous accusations. For the record, we first tried reaching out to Michael to discuss his review but have not heard back. The facts have been skewed to make the guests look as if we made them victims of the situation. Accusing of us of "double booking" is just wrong and I wish there was a platform to prove this fabrication. Our initial correspondence with Michael, and his wife Grace, was Sept 12 when he booked Sept 24 - Oct 1, the home (and calendar) was booked through the Sept 24, the day of their arrival and October 2-8 after their desired departure. We discussed how we would make an allowance and block the night of Oct 1st (without payment) in the event they needed an extra day. In addition, at Michael's request, we extended a weekly discount to help out a bit. Further, we arranged for him to ship parcels to our house that we would later deliver to the rental. Upon their original checkout day, Oct 1st (for which we had received payment), I ask if they planned to stay the extra night we blocked in advance. They responded, "yes, and maybe some additional nights" at which time we responded, "sorry, but the house is booked" and had been well in advance of their initial inquiry. Hence why they could not book dates other than Sept 24th to Oct 2nd. For guests to have a sense of entitlement and want additional nights when they're unavailable does not make them right, and us wrong! At this point we arranged with other hosts in the area who were willing to accommodate Michael and did arrange for lodging. As for a late checkout request? They asked for a late checkout the morning they were checking out. We clearly state that for a late checkout contact us days in advance so we can arrange this with our cleaners. To level these accusations in light of the facts is especially disheartening. To have guests want, and expect for something different, is in no way our fault or a reflection on how we operate as hosts. All too often in our society today, others fail to hold themselves accountable, and in some instances like this, project the blame onto others. A sad and pathetic gesture especially in light of all the praise we received from them about the home and our help along the way prior to their checkout day. EDIT: just heard from Grace...she wrote the review, apparently without his knowledge.
