About this property

Nero's Point Lake Martin Home

Lake Martin, Neros Point

This home was designed to showcase stunning views of the lake and surrounding woods. while offering privacy from neighboring houses during the summer months. A spacious great room stretches approximately 20 x 38 feet, extending from the kitchen at one end to a fireplace at the other. The open floor plan is ideal for family gatherings. The 24-foot vaulted ceiling features stained wood beams spanning the width of the house, while the A-frame wall facing the lake is lined with sliding glass doors and windows up to the ceiling providing breathtaking views of the lake, trees, and sky.

The kitchen is fully equipped. The coffee pot brews both K-pods and a carafe of coffee. (round filter required)

Three bedroom two bath house comfortably sleeps nine, with additional sleeping in the loft area: a master suite with a king bed and private bath, second bedroom with a king bed and one twin bed, and a third bedroom with two twin beds. The second bath is located between the second and third bedrooms. Sleeping options in the loft include a queen sleeper sofa and one youth bed; in addition to a queen Aero Bed stored in the laundry room extending the sleeping spaces to a maximum of 12. A pack-n-play is also available.

The loft (29' x 14') space has a ping pong table and a 65” TV viewing area. Wireless internet is provided. The laundry room, equipped with washer and dryer, is also located in a room at one end of the loft.

Outdoor living is enhanced by a large deck across the front of the house and smaller covered decks on both sides. The deck offers seating around the deck perimeter, table with 6 chairs, 4 Adirondack chairs and a gas grill. For convenience, gates have been installed on the side decks and at the top of the stairs leading to the lake. These can be closed to keep children and pets safe and contained, Please be aware that the deck facing the lake has seating around the edge. (see pictures)

A spacious pier at the end of the boardwalk provides water deep enough on one side for mooring boats, while the other side is shallow water—perfect for children to swim and play. A floating dock makes accessing watercraft easy at full pool and later as the water level is lowered throughout the summer. 3–4 boats or jet skis can be docked during full pool in the spring and throughout the summer months. In late fall to early spring, water levels are lower making docking a boat not possible.

The location offers easy access to military bases in Montgomery, Auburn football games, and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Prattville (approximately 35–40 miles each). By car or boat, you can also reach Catherine’s Market, Springhouse Restaurant, and many other local dining options located at the many marinas around the lake. Seasonal concerts and Fourth of July fireworks are within boating or driving distance.

This home has been on the rental market for over since 2009 with excellent ratings. The last 7 years we were fortunate to have several full time renters, who have all left when they purchased their own lake home. So we are back offering short term rentals.

Better than pictures

Pictures do not do this justice! We spent most of our time on the front deck or in the water by the pier. Really nice that the house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no boat traffic. Perfect for children or dogs! One side of the pier is shallow with the other side being deep for a boat. We put our beach chairs in the shallow side and let the dogs have a blast and when they tired they rested by us. Pier has 4 different sets of stairs from the water so easy in and out. Rented a pontoon boat from Real Lake Marina; it’s a 20 minute drive but only a 3 minute ride in the boat. On the final day, we offered one of the guys at the marina a nice tip to return the boat, saving us the 20 minute car ride. Other option might be Kowilga Marina, closer car ride but longer boat ride. We visited all the restaurants by boat for lunch and dinner. Check out Chimney Rock (2 of mine dove off the highest point, yikes!). Baby/dog gates are perfect as they cannot get out of the large deck. Rebecca wonderful to deal with; she put a TV on the main floor at our request and we spent most indoor time there since it was a football weekend. Will definitely return; great house, location and experience!:

Nero’s Point is absolutely amazing!

Needing a weekend getaway for our son, his dad and a few friends, Nero’s Point didn’t let us down! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, plenty of parking and also for several boats to tie up. We highly recommend Nero’s Point.

What are you waiting for?

Book now before someone else does!! This house is amazing! Three families met here for a wonderful trip down memory lane for my husband and two of his cousins. They used to visit their grandparents home on the lake in the summer and had not been back in many years. The house has an amazing view of the lake and is so peaceful. The kitchen had everything you need to make a lovely dinner. There is plenty of seating and sleeping areas. It is well kept and was very clean and fresh smelling upon our arrival. The upstairs loft gave our teens and tweens a place to hang out when not out tubing or kayaking. The only problem we encountered was that no one wanted to leave!!

Amazing Home for a family vacation!!

Our stay in this house was amazing. Home is spacious, super clean and very comfortable!! We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay with family and grandkids. Owner is beyond amazing and so helpful with questions. Kids were able to swim off the dock and plenty of room to dock the boat and hang out. We had a relaxing stay and highly recommend this home if your looking for a vacation on the lake. Kitchen is one of the best stocked kitchens ever with plenty of dishes. Kids enjoyed the ping pong table and the games. A big THANK YOU to the owners for sharing their lake house with our family!!

Beautiful home.

Our family had a great time at the lake. We like to cook and this was by far the best stocked kitchen we have found in a vacation rental. Owner was attentive and immediately available by phone when we had a question upon arrival. We enjoyed the table tennis very much. Plenty of sleeping space in this home as well. We are sure to return to this lake house again!

Fantastic

My family and I stayed there for a week, as a mini vacation, leading up to my wife's and I wedding day. The house was clean, fully stocked kitchen (minus food of course), great appliances, plenty of parking for being tucked in the woods. The back porch and deck was all fantastic. All my nieces and all my family had a blast swimming off the dock. The water was wonderful. The house water access is tucked away very quiet slew. We enjoyed every minute of it. No need to go out to eat when you have all you need to cook there. The gas grill outside worked great. I did bring my own charcoal grill though; only used it once. I would definitely recommend this place to any one with probably no more than 3 adult couples; the amount of kids with them don't matter since they can sleep wherever. There were plenty of extra air mattresses and sheets upstairs. We brought our own because we didn't know they were there. Plenty of towels available but still bring a few of your own. Be ready to do laundry if you have a crowd. Good washer and dryer upstairs. EXCELLENT PLACE & GREAT MEMORIES!

Perfect family Thanksgiving

This was our first time staying in this home and we found it to be everything we were looking for. We rented it for the entire Thanksgiving week and were joined by our grown children for some relaxation and stress-relief. The home is very comfortable and the space is laid out well. It was cold enough for a fire in the fireplace the first night and the owner had plenty of firewood we could use.. We used the gas grill a couple of times and the propane tank seemed full. The beds were quite comfortable and all of the rooms were sparkling clean. We cooked in for all of our meals with the exception of a carry-out lunch from Catherine's Market one day, and the kitchen had plenty of workspace, cabinet and pantry space. I did a full Thanksgiving feast and the double ovens were a wonderful help. Although chilly outside, it was sunny and we did alot of hiking and walking with our dogs. The dogs also enjoyed swimming in the lake, just not the freezing hose down they got afterwards! We particularly liked the large deck and the Adirondack chairs with such a great view of the lake. The only thing that we could have used was a TV downstairs. This wouldn't have even been an issue during warmer months with boating and skiing activities available, but we spent a good bit of time up in the loft watching football games. it is a nice TV spot up there but a little crowded when we were all gathered around watching the Iron Bowl. All in all, we had a wonderful family vacation. The owner was great and easy to contact. She kept in touch by email, text and phone and her instructions were simple to follow. I would recommend this home to anyone and expect that we might be renting it again ourselves.

Nice lake house!!

We rented this house to stay near our daughters' wedding at the Springhouse. It is a very nice house, with a beautiful lake view, and surrounded by lots of nice deck area to be outside on. Inside, the house had plenty of room for the 8 folks we slept there. It is nicely decorated, with a well apportioned kitchen area and cozy and comfortable beds in the bedrooms. It was clean and nicely maintained. We enjoyed our stay there!

Great get-away!

We wanted to escape for 5 days to the lake and found this house on VRBO. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and was very accommodating to us. The house was very comfortable, great views of the water, nice kitchen and den area, Lots of area to put your food items in pantry and cabinets, well stocked kitchen, bedrooms were big, beds were comfortable, everything was clean, deck was great and had nice Adirondack chairs on it, dock area was very nice - had shade in the late afternoon, very shallow water on left side of dock and deep water for the boat on the right, dock can accommodate 2 boats well, good to kayak from too, slough was quiet (when we were there), although houses not that far away by water, it is very private, good roads for walks from the house, not far from stores or boat launch, good cell service and WIFI, we even played ping pong too...........all around a great place to stay. We appreciated the owners allowing our dogs to come with us, they loved it too! The only thing that could have made our stay better was the grilling situation.......gas grill was out of gas and I was told ahead of time that it would be my responsibility to get the gas. We ended up buying a cheap charcoal grill because we prefer charcoal grilling anyway. If it had only had a really nice charcoal grill, it would have been great in every way! We loved the house, enjoyed our stay, and hope to return some day!! Thank you Becky for renting such a nice place on the lake for us non lake house owners to enjoy staying several days on the lake!!! We all had a nice relaxing time!!

Amazing trip...very relaxing with beautiful views!

My husband and I decided we would like to have a vacation that was relaxing instead of fighting crowds and being on a schedule- and we got it here! We got up and fished in the morning and rode wave runners to explore the lake during the day and then fished again at night. We also played board games after dark. We ate at home for almost every meal and only left the house (in a car) twice. We have two teen daughters (16 and 17 yrs old) and they loved our stay. Our family grew so much closer this week. The house was lovely, the view was beautiful and relaxing, and the lake was wonderful and fun to explore! We had such a great time that if we don't buy our own lake house, then we will definitely book another vacation at this one!

My favorite place to ski ever!

We chose this home for 2 families to stay and bring 3 kids and 2 dogs. It was perfect! The kids played ping pong the whole time they were in the house. Our one dog loves to swim and jump off the dock. The other one usually stayed up to his ankles in water near the tree. We brought 2 boats and started bare footing at 6:00 am. We skied until the sun went down every day! The house had more than enough pillows, blankets, and kitchen supplies. The bedrooms were quiet and good bamboo shades on the windows if you like it dark to sleep in. The owner was a joy and answered my questions and texts immediately. The stairs provided us with much exercise too! My son, 15, said it was the best vacation ever! I can't wait to go back next summer!

Wonderful relaxing vacation home

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Nero's Point Lake Martin Home. The view was simply beautiful. We loved being at the end of the slough, so nice and quiet without the boat and jet ski noise that homes on the river experience. On one side of the dock, it is really shallow which allows small children a safe place to play in the water, and on the other side of the dock it is deep to allow boats to dock. Large windows provide a spectacular view of the lake and dock. We rented a boat one day from a local marina and enjoyed exploring the lake. Highly recommend this beautiful home. Pet friendly properties are not as prevalent, so we are very appreciative that pets were allowed since our dog travels with us. We hope to return again in the future.

About the host

Host profile image
Our family and friends have enjoyed the beauty of Lake Martin for many years. We have always had dogs and they, too, love the lake. Since the children are grown and have moved away we decided to share our home.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this vacation home because after traveling to the lake with friends, we were captivated by the beauty of the area. The lake was close to our home in Montgomery; the setting is rural; but an easy drive to Birmingham, Alexander City, Auburn and even Atlanta. The lake is large and pristine and while it has grown in popularity over the years; however, it is not overcrowded. There are plenty of good restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes; and you do not have to deal with the over crowded roads of the beach.

What makes this property unique

The location of the home makes you feel secluded as the house is surrounded on three sides by woods while the front faces the lake. Yet, there are many attractions and restaurants nearby-either by land or water. A unique area, The Crossroads, boasts a fabulous grocery, Catherine's Market, with a fresh meat department as well as unique grocery items and deli. In addition, an equestrian center with horses available for rent is also located there. For those who are interested in fine dining Springhouse Restaurant is fabulous. Boats are also available for rental at a nearby marina.
