Nero's Point Lake Martin Home

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,200 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

Lake Martin, Neros Point

The house was designed to give a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding woods. The lot is very wooded and private–you can not see the neighbors' houses in the summer.

A large great room- extends from the kitchen on one end to a fireplace on the other end-approximately 20 x 38 feet . The open floor plan is the perfect place for family gatherings. The ceiling is a 24 foot vaulted stained wood with beams that expand the width of the house. The “A” frame of the wall facing the lake has windows to the ceiling so you can see the trees and sky while sliding glass doors across the front provide a wonderful view of the lake.

The house sleeps 9 in beds, and there is one youth bed. The maximum number of individuals allowed is 12. There are three bedrooms that includes a master bedroom and bath, and two bedrooms that share a bath. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the middle bedroom has a queen size bed and a youth bed, and the third bedroom has two twin beds. All of the beds have a memory foam topper for added comfort.

There is also a loft (29' x 14') with a ping pong table as well as a TV viewing area. Cable is provided along with wireless internet. There is a queen size sleeper sofa and one twin bed. A queen aero bed is available in the laundry room. The laundry room, with washer and dryer, is also located in the loft. A large deck expands the front of the house and smaller covered decks are on both sides of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and linens are provided..

At the end of the pier, one side is deep for mooring the boats and the other side is shallow for young children to swim and play. A floating dock allows for easy acctess to water craft. At full pool, 3-4 boats and or jet ski are easily docked.

For convenience we have installed gates that can be closed to keep pets from roaming, getting in the water when you do not want them to, or to just restrict their movement. The gates are located on the side porches and at the top of the stairs leading to the lake.

The location is an easy drive to military bases in Montgomery, Auburn for football games, or Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Pratville. (app 35-40 miles for each location). In addition, it is an easy drive or boat ride to Catherine's Market, Springhouse Restaurant, as well as many other local restaurants. Concerts and Fourth of July firworks are also within boating or driving distance.

We rent long term 12 or 6 (from Oct. to April) months or short term with a three day minimum.

About Rebecca

Our family and friends have enjoyed the beauty of Lake Martin for many years. We have always had dogs and they, too, love the lake. Since the children are grown and have moved away we decided to share our home.

Rebecca purchased this house in 1995

Why Rebecca chose Little Kowaliga

We purchased this vacation home because after traveling to the lake with friends, we were captivated by the beauty of the area. The lake was close to our home in Montgomery; the setting is rural; but an easy drive to Birmingham, Alexander City, Auburn and even Atlanta. The lake is large and pristine and while it has grown in popularity over the years; however, it is not overcrowded. There are plenty of good restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes; and you do not have to deal with the over crowded roads of the beach.

What makes this house unique

The location of the home makes you feel secluded as the house is surrounded on three sides by woods while the front faces the lake. Yet, there are many attractions and restaurants nearby-either by land or water. A unique area, The Crossroads, boasts a fabulous grocery, Catherine's Market, with a fresh meat department as well as unique grocery items and deli. In addition, an equestrian center with horses available for rent is also located there. For those who are interested in fine dining Springhouse Restaurant is fabulous. Boats are also available for rental at a nearby marina.

Better than pictures

  • 5 of 5

Pictures do not do this justice! We spent most of our time on the front deck or in the water by the pier. Really nice that the house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no boat traffic. Perfect for children or dogs!

One side of the pier is shallow with the other side being deep for a boat. We put our beach chairs in the shallow side and let the dogs have a blast and when they tired they rested by us. Pier has 4 different sets of stairs from the water so easy in and out.

Rented a pontoon boat from Real Lake Marina; it’s a 20 minute drive but only a 3 minute ride in the boat. On the final day, we offered one of the guys at the marina a nice tip to return the boat, saving us the 20 minute car ride.

Other option might be Kowilga Marina, closer car ride but longer boat ride.

We visited all the restaurants by boat for lunch and dinner. Check out Chimney Rock (2 of mine dove off the highest point, yikes!).

Baby/dog gates are perfect as they cannot get out of the large deck. Rebecca wonderful to deal with; she put a TV on the main floor at our request and we spent most indoor time there since it was a football weekend.

Will definitely return; great house, location and experience!:

Nero’s Point is absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Needing a weekend getaway for our son, his dad and a few friends, Nero’s Point didn’t let us down! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, plenty of parking and also for several boats to tie up. We highly recommend Nero’s Point.

What are you waiting for?

Book now before someone else does!! This house is amazing!

Three families met here for a wonderful trip down memory lane for my husband and two of his cousins. They used to visit their grandparents home on the lake in the summer and had not been back in many years.

The house has an amazing view of the lake and is so peaceful. The kitchen had everything you need to make a lovely dinner. There is plenty of seating and sleeping areas. It is well kept and was very clean and fresh smelling upon our arrival.

The upstairs loft gave our teens and tweens a place to hang out when not out tubing or kayaking.

The only problem we encountered was that no one wanted to leave!!
