Are you looking for old Florida.? Lower heart rate? No high rises/ traffic?
This Florida style home is for guests who want to relax and unwind. It is located on a quiet street and the refreshing back yard borders a beautiful mango orchard. Freshly remodeled in a classic style with calming decor, cozy back porch and a large back yard. Close to the marina and within walking distance from Jug Creek Marina which has a restaurant, boat tours, fishing charters, and a seafood market. The next street has a reasonably priced kayak rental business and a boat ramp. The next door neighbor, Alex Coomer, is a boat captain and takes 1/2 day sightseeing and fishing trips. He always seems to catch fish! There is a nice Weber Grill right outside the back porch to cook your freshly caught (or bought ) dinner.
A highlight of Bokeelia....the one fin dolphin named UNO or Sunshine can many times be seen at a local dock and in a local waterway and is quite chattie and flirtacious. Hang your feet over the dock and see what happens. Time well spend indeed!
Two comfortable bicycles are provided with the rental.
Fly into Fort Myers or Punta Gorda for closest airports, which are about 1 hour away. Car rental a must unless you want to ride our bikes everywhere!
Sanibel about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car away, and Captiva is another 20 minutes on top of that. You could also op for a ferry ride to these islands in addition to Gaspirilla,, Boca Grande, Cabbage Key and others. Caya Costa, usually a highlight, is closed for repairs due to Hurricane Ian. The Tropic Star ferry regularly makes trips to outer islands. Tarpon Lodge, a historic inn in Pineland, approx a 15 minute drive, has live music and great food for a special treat!
Bokeelia is located on Pine Island, which has fresh fruit stands, food trucks, several restaurants, a few grocery stores, a pharmacy, gas station, thrift stores, a barber, library, tennis courts, community pool, and a golf course. If you want to stay out of the rat race then drive here and don' t leave!

Absolutely beautifully decorated home in a lovely quiet neighborhood. All the comforts of home. You cannot go wrong staying here! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home!
We were in town for a family wedding and enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed the screened back room. The house was clean and was well stocked for all our needs. Thanks for a great stay!
Perfect for our stay. Everything we needed and location was perfect.
The house and location was perfect for our stay. If I have a need to go to that area again , will definitely contact this host and stay at this property again.
The house was very comfortable and clean. The host provides everything you need like you are in your own home. The screened in porch is nice for hanging out, meals or to listen to the rain. The house is close to the boat ramp and under 10 minutes to Publix. We would definitely stay again.
It was exactly as described in the listing. The owner has provided everything we could possibly require. We felt so welcome. We love the area, local food, the walks and bike rides.
Very cozy home. Had a great time exploring this island and others near by!
Had a great boat ride with Alex Coomer who lives next door! A highlight of our visit along with seeing UNO the resident dolphin the last day. Icing on the cake
Nice clean and quiet place. Had everything
i needed. Nice view of mango farm behind
the house. Boat ramp down the street. plenty of parking. Highly recommend this place. 5 stars!
Very clean and comfortable. Convenient and located in a quiet neighborhood. Communication with Jane, the owner was easy. Appreciate their turning on the exterior and interior lights before we arrived, especially since our arrival was even later than expected. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Country Setting Home
This home is in a country setting, and is comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook every day, which was a nice surprise. However, there is no garbage disposal and the water and ice through the door does not work on the fridge. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Overall this house suited our needs.
The property was clean and decorated in a warm welcoming manner. I felt comfortable immediately. I especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the morning and the mango trees. Jane is an excellent hostess who considers her guests comfort and enjoyment of her property.
Wanted to visit Cabbage Key and unplug for the weekend. Property is very conveniently located to a cpl good restaurants with great sunset views and very close to boat rentals to get to cabbage key. House and property were very nice. Beds, Pillows very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with all you need. Same for the bathrooms. Bikes are in the garage for your use. Other than having an issue with the front door lock we thoroughly enjoyed are stay!
We were so impressed with the home. It was very clean, a quiet environment, and supplies were a plenty. The location backed onto an orchard, it affords privacy. The location was nice as it was away from the busy areas like Ft Meyers. The neighborhood is safe, maintained , and quiet. Due to the hurricane there is a lot of construction traffic. Staying in Bookeia we were able to avoid it. There is a Publix Grocery nearby so we could eat in as much as desired. There are state beaches in Sanibel and Port Charlotte. We enjoyed those visits.
Dated, needs a real remodel, not a cover up of old.Shower curtain wouldnt stay up!Ice maker didnt work.No ironCould have provided creamer and coffee packets for weekend stays. Understandable not to for longer stays. But short stays its a little bit expected to not have to go buy coffee essentials. Wouldn't book again.

I am surprised by this review as all previous reviews have been 5 stars except for one which was a 4 star. It has been completely remodeled, except for the kitchen. I just stayed for a week in the house before Amy arrived. When we left, there was coffee in the freezer, sugar in the cabinet and an iron and ironing board in the utility room next to the washer and dryer. WE kept the ice cube trays filled while we were there and that worked for us but yes it would be. nice to have an ice maker. We even stocked the house with spices, oils, teas, some canned goods etc and condiments. It is noted that we need to add creamer to the stocked cabinet. We had no trouble with the shower curtain staying up. Most recently, just before Amy's arrival , we added all new receptacles and light switches and added two more bikes for our guest's enjoyment. I feel bad that Amy did not enjoy the house as a lot of effort went into making this home comfortable, attractive and full of extras.
Fantastic, knowledgeable and accommodating Hostess!
I contacted the property owner before the trip with questions about local shopping and eating. The hostess gave me a great variety of information. Our trip was delayed due to the airline and the communication with the hostess was easy. We encounter an issue with the property but she was easy to contact and tried to be accommodating. The property itself had everything you could need. She informed us they were working on updating some items like electrical and fixtures etc. The house was clean, the bedding was clean and the bathrooms as well. The property is located on Pine Island which is quieter and less busy than others. Overall, a good stay if it weren’t for the airline & weather! LOL

Thanks so much Nicole and Eddie for the wonderful review. This week we will change out the breaker and electrical outlets. Other guests have also learned that Allegiant's schedule into Punta Gorda is very limiting if something goes wrong....Hopefully you return again and are able to stay the entire time.
Great spot and location! Quiet screened porch for morning coffees or afternoon cocktails. Biked to Lazy Flamingo, rented a boat one day and caught fresh fish for dinner. Just book it

About the host
Hosted by Jane Wollfe
Glenn and Jane are professionals who travel the world when not working. They own a house in Sedona Arizona and a few on Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Recently they bought this house in Bokeelia from Jane's daughter who moved to Hawaii. Jane fell in love with the slow pace of Bokeelia and since she is not retired, decided to share it with others, especially her good friend Gail who is an interior designer and spent summer weeks visiting relatives in Bokeelia as a kid. The whole team, including friends and family of Glenn, Jane and Gail appreciate a well decorated home and spent numerous hours bringing this home back to life! Here's to relaxing and enjoying a stay at the "Mango View Hideaway!"
