About this property

TINY HOME No.2 Railway Carriage with Stunning Views

About this space
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Staying in one of two beautifully renovated Railway Carriages with private gardens and extensive views over meadows and woodland it offers a perfect spot for walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing, wild-swimming and quiet relaxation. The River Derwent, C2C route and Derwent Walk are a 5 min walk from the garden gate and the hustle of Newcastle only a short drive by car or easily accessible by a regular bus service.
The space
Each Railway Carriage has been individually designed. Carriage No.2 has been extended offering a larger kitchen area and bathroom with shower cubicle. Like it's sister Carriage it has glazed double-doors onto its own little garden with breathtaking views and outdoor table & chairs. Please note the garden is not fenced.
The internal space is well designed offering an equipped kitchen with cooker/hob and small fridge/freezer, a bathroom with electric airboost shower, a living space with dinning table and double bed with fresh cotton linens.
Oil-radiator heating.
Guest access
Each Carriage is separate and has its own little garden with outdoor table and seating. Pet's need to be kept on the lead while on the farm property as hens may be wandering. However there are miles of woodland and meadows beyond the farm gate.
Other things to note
There is a small pond in the garden and 3 wooden steps to each Carriage. The river is at the bottom of the meadow outside the gate of the garden.

We spent 2 nights here to 'get away from it all' at New Year. Total peace, surrounded by nature. Well equipped, especially for its size! It was nice and warm when we arrived and the oil radiator was quite efficient. We loved it here.

Quaint little cottage. Ok for short stay and visit to Beamish Living Museum nearby. No television and no wifi

This was a surprise weekend away for my partner and we absolutely loved it.The location is incredible and the carriage is gorgeous. We love birds and the tree outside provided us with loads within 5 minutes of arriving. The river at the bottom of the hill is breathtaking and we got up early each morning to see the dawn.We did the Red Kite Trail on the Saturday which starts right outside the farm and we visited Gibside on Sunday before heading home. The wildlife has been bountiful... it is such a beautiful part of the world. It has been the most wonderful weekend and I am sure we will visit again.
