Why they chose this property
Neighbourhood description
Cascais, on the Estoril coast, is just 20km from Lisbon airport and 25 km from Lisbon. Located between the picturesque Sintra mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, the area also provides the most westerly point in Europe. If you fancy a dip then take your pick from any of the 17 well-maintained beaches but do remember it is the Atlantic so the sea temperature is rather refreshing, although nothing that a wet suit and a can-do attitude won’t sort out. The sea view is mesmerising so even if you’re not up to surfing the waves, you can watch whilst others get taken out by the Atlantic rollers.
They are also located near the magnificent Guincho beach and the Boca do Inferno (the hell's mouth), a wonderful cliff formation, shaped by the waves in a curve and natural arch under cliffs, with pathways allowing tourists to climb down the cliff face and view this unique phenomena from both side.
Costa da Guia is a residential area par excellence, mainly composed by recent and 5 to 8 stories buildings and some small villas. Its is next to prestigious arias such as Quinta de Marinha and Becuda
Guia is a more touristic area, as most of the people living there are foreign origin, while Costa da Guia is the opposite, as most of the people who live there are Portuguese, it is more of a residential area.
Some of the local habits are having a coffee at “Sacolinha” or going for a walk around the lighthouse, where they have restaurants, coffees and some activities for the whole family.
The nearest beach is just few minutes drive, or walking you will find one sandy beach next to each other
